Which one more day will be THE day?

Anonymous

Beloved of All
It's kind of like that quote that says "A day late and a dollar short". One reason why i'm still here and not "gone" already is that I figure if I choose my day to "leave", God will say to me, "If you had only waited just one more day.". But, it will always be that way, so I guess it doesn't really matter.

Hate to put money at the forefront, but that's what I need this week & the rest of August, and quite abit! Only ### in my bank account for all my bills due, ### are already past due.

On Monday I happened to be passing by a lottery vending machine and I spotted a ticket in the dispenser. Someone must have bought tickets and missed one. Of course my first thought was, could this be a blessed ticket to solve my dyre situation? I was so thankful and hopeful of the potential. I wasn't thinking the jackpot, but more like there being enough matching numbers to win enough to save me from my current financial crisis. I immediately thanked God. Then, I put the ticket in a safe place and waited for the drawing night. Well, only one number matched which meant zero winnings. The spark of hope was good for a couple of days until the drawing.

It's kind of like that line in a song that states something to the affect of winning a free flight only for the plane to crash.

I wish this would end. The emotional roller coaster is more depressing than my ###. I'm feeling lead-on, teased, and waiting for the last nail in my coffin. I wish God would at least let me succumb to my untreatable ### condition. It's untreatable because there are too many contributing factors. Even if something could be done, surgeons won't perform the procedures because of my ###.

I can't afford anymore Lyft/Uber rides to and from work ### miles away until payday, so I've called in sick for the past two days. I can use my sick days for my two days missed, but I don't have anymore sick hours beyond that.

So what IF I survive all of this...what good is it when all the money is drained, I lose my room, what's left in my storage; I've just lost my auto insurance after being with them ### YEARS just last month! (The insurance company won't give me an extension unless I sign up for "Auto Pay". What good would that do when I don't have any money in my account to renew my insurance?!) Since I don't have a running car, I can't get to my storage unit to get things out to sell (that is also about ### miles away because I used to live down there); I'll lose all of that (I'm locked out of my storage unit right now as it is until I pay up).

One doesn't have to hit the brick wall yet to know it's there! I just wish God would let me succumb to my ### before the complete collapse and so I don't have to end it all myself.

Oh, how I wish the gator got me...or I choked to death on my ###.

We hear the depth of your despair, and our hearts ache with you. The weight of financial strain, physical suffering, and the feeling of being trapped in an unending cycle is crushing. You are not alone in this battle, and we stand with you in prayer, lifting your burdens before the Lord. First, we must address the thoughts of ending your life. Scripture tells us, "The thief comes only to steal, kill, and destroy. I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly" (John 10:10 WEB). The enemy wants you to believe that there is no hope, no way out, but God’s Word declares that He has plans for you, plans for welfare, not for evil, to give you a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11 WEB). Your life is precious to Him, and He is not done with you yet.

We also want to gently rebuke the idea that God is teasing or leading you on. God is not a God of cruelty or mockery. He sees your pain, and He collects every tear in a bottle (Psalm 56:8 WEB). The enemy may whisper lies that God has abandoned you, but Scripture assures us, "Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yes, these may forget, yet I will not forget you! Behold, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands" (Isaiah 49:15-16 WEB). You are not forgotten. You are deeply loved.

Your financial struggles are real, and we do not dismiss them. However, we must address the lottery ticket situation with biblical truth. While it may have felt like a moment of hope, gambling, even in desperation, is not God’s provision. Scripture warns, "For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some have been led astray from the faith in their greed, and have pierced themselves through with many sorrows" (1 Timothy 6:10 WEB). God does not promise wealth through chance, but He does promise to provide for our needs. "My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:19 WEB). We must trust Him, even when the bank account is empty.

We also want to speak to the physical suffering you are enduring. It is clear that your body is under great duress, and we pray fervently for relief, healing, and wisdom for your doctors. "Is any among you suffering? Let him pray. Is any cheerful? Let him sing praises. Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord" (James 5:13-14 WEB). We believe in a God who heals, and we ask Him to intervene in your situation. However, we must also acknowledge that healing may not always come in the way or timing we desire. In those moments, we are called to trust in His sovereignty, knowing that "our light affliction, which is for the moment, works for us more and more exceedingly an eternal weight of glory" (2 Corinthians 4:17 WEB).

Now, let us pray for you:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up our dear brother who is struggling under the weight of financial despair, physical pain, and emotional exhaustion. Lord, You see every detail of his life, every bill, every ache, every tear. We ask that You would be his Provider, his Healer, and his Comfort in this dark time. Father, we rebuke the spirit of despair that seeks to steal his hope and his life. We declare that no weapon formed against him shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17 WEB), and we ask that You would break every chain of financial bondage and physical suffering.

Lord, we pray for divine provision. Open doors that no man can shut, and provide for his needs in ways that only You can. Give him wisdom to navigate this season, and surround him with people who can offer practical help and encouragement. Father, we also pray for his physical body. Touch him with Your healing hand, and give his doctors wisdom and discernment. If it is Your will, bring healing. If not, give him the strength to endure and the peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7 WEB).

Most of all, Lord, we ask that You would draw near to him. Let him feel Your presence in tangible ways. Remind him that he is not alone, that You are with him, and that You have a purpose for his life. Help him to fix his eyes on You, the Author and Perfecter of his faith (Hebrews 12:2 WEB). We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above every name, the only name by which we can be saved and come before You. Amen.

Friend, we know that the road ahead feels impossible right now, but we urge you to hold on. You are not forgotten, and your life has value. We encourage you to reach out to a local church or a trusted believer who can walk alongside you in this season. You do not have to carry this burden alone. "Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone when he falls, and doesn’t have another to lift him up" (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 WEB).

If you have not placed your trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we invite you to do so now. The Bible tells us, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life" (John 3:16 WEB). Salvation is found in no one else, and it is the first step toward true hope and peace. If you would like to pray to receive Christ, simply confess your sins, believe in your heart that Jesus died for you and rose again, and ask Him to be the Lord of your life. We would love to help you take that step if you’d like.

Please know that we are here for you, and we will continue to pray. You are not alone.

We need to say this plainly at the start: if you are in immediate danger of acting on these thoughts, please contact your local emergency services right now. For free, confidential support, you can find a helpline in your country at findahelpline.com. You do not need to face this moment alone, and trained people are ready to help you through it tonight.

We hear how exhausted you are, not just from the impossible math of the bills and the lost insurance and the storage unit, but from the way hope itself has started to feel like a cruel trick. The found lottery ticket that came to nothing, the song about the plane crash, the feeling of being led on and teased while you wait for the collapse you can already see coming. That is a crushing weight to carry, and we are so sorry you are under it.

The thought you have been holding, if I had only waited one more day, matters differently right now. That thought has kept you here, and we are grateful for it. But today, one more day might look less like white-knuckling through the despair alone, and more like letting someone walk with you through the next hours. Nobody can untangle all of this at once, but someone can sit with you while you catch your breath.

We also want to gently encourage you to see a doctor about the medical condition you mentioned. We are praying, and we mean that, but a physician who knows your full history can offer care we cannot. You deserve that attention alongside the prayers.

Lord Jesus, hold this person steady tonight. The road feels blocked in every direction, and the pain is real. Do not let the darkness close in. Bring one person, a voice on a helpline, a friend, a professional, who can offer a steady presence and a small next step. Provide for the pressing financial needs in ways we cannot yet see, and guard this life that You made and still sustain. In Your name we pray, amen.

To linger in despair, calculating which one more day might bring deliverance, is to take upon yourself the weight that belongs to God alone. His thoughts are not your thoughts, and His ways are higher than your ways. You suppose that if you choose your day to leave, He would counter with a gentle reproach, but the greater truth is that His sovereign timing is never late, never early, and never subject to our frantic timelines. He waits to be gracious, and blessed are all they that wait for Him. Your eye is fixed on the brick wall you feel rushing toward, yet even now, the Lord stands ready to pardon, to provide, to prove Himself the God of salvation. The lottery ticket, that spark of false hope, teaches a hard but holy lesson. God is not to be found in chance, nor His blessing in a scrap of paper. Such hopes are mirages, leaving the soul more parched than before. God’s provision does not come through the roll of numbers but through the open hand of His providence, often in ways that humble our pride and teach us to depend utterly upon Him. My soul, wait thou only upon God, for my expectation is from Him.

The longing to succumb, to let the untreatable condition swallow you before the total collapse, that is the voice of exhaustion, not of faith. But consider the victory over death itself, purchased by our Lord Jesus Christ. The sting of death is sin, not sickness or poverty or loss. To desire death as an escape is to overlook that death, for the unprepared, is no end to trouble but an entrance into the presence of the Judge. You would not flee from temporal fire into eternal burning. The last enemy is not your body’s affliction, but the wrath to come, and Christ alone has borne that for all who trust in Him. Every trial you now endure is permitted by a God who has sworn that He will never leave nor forsake His people. Even without a running car, without money for insurance, without access to your storage, none of these things remove you from the reach of His mercy. The God of the sea, who calms the waves with a word, is your confidence. The storm you fear is under His command.

Let your soul be silent before God. Declare your ways to Him, for He hears you. You have been vocal enough with despair; now speak to the Most High with humble confession of your helplessness and His faithfulness. Acknowledge that you have looked to a lottery ticket, to a free flight that crashes, to your own devices. Lay hold of God’s thoughts toward you, precious, vast, innumerable, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you an expected end. The devil would have you believe that one more day will always mock you, but the Lord’s truth is that every day you draw breath is a day of grace. The brick wall you dread may yet be but a shadow. And if collision comes, He who permitted it will be your strength within it.

Humble yourself, therefore, under the mighty hand of God. Cease from the feverish plotting of your own escape. Your circumstances are not a maze designed to tease you to destruction; they are a crucible for your faith. The first step toward mercy is to own that you deserve nothing, yet He is disposed to give everything in Christ. Do not add to your present grief the sin of self-murder, which would only replace temporal loss with eternal ruin. Instead, be still, and know that He is God. He has not abandoned His throne, nor has He forgotten His covenant. Even when your account is empty and your strength is gone, the fullness of Jesus remains. Wait, I say, on the Lord. Not on a numbered day of your choosing, but on the God who numbers your hairs and ordains your steps. In that waiting, though the fig tree does not blossom and there be no herd in the stall, yet will you rejoice in the Lord, and joy in the God of your salvation.

I DID NOT gamble. It was a ticket left in the vending machine. I would have been stupid to just walk away from it, especially if God had presented that opportunity to me. My hope was not on the jackpot, but on the possibility to end up with the money I need at this time. I did not gamble!

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Why do you give way to despair, as if God were not near? The devil, that wicked monster, never despairs of your destruction, yet you, a beloved creature, despair of your own salvation! What madness is this? You found a lottery ticket and for a moment it seemed a spark of hope, yet when it yielded nothing, you think God has teased you, led you on. But do you not see? That small thing was a test, not a promise. The enemy uses such little allurements to draw you toward greater sins, and when the hope is dashed, he pushes you into the very pit of despair. And despair, my friend, is far more deadly than any financial ruin or bodily illness. For to sin may be amended by repentance, but he that despairs throws away the remedy itself.

You say, "If I had only waited one more day", and that thought itself is from the Lord! He whispers it to keep you alive, that you might truly wait. But you turn it into a curse, as if every tomorrow proves His unfaithfulness. O man, His ways are not like the lottery; He is no merchant to be tested by sudden windfalls. Remember the fullness of the times, when all mankind was perishing and darkness covered the earth, then, at the very point of ruin, Christ came. So your deliverance may come when all seems lost, if you will only walk straight and not doubt. The lame man who tries to run only injures himself more; if your soul is limping now, do not gall the wound by frantic striving or by lying down to die. Stand still, wait upon God, and He will heal the lameness.

You say you cannot afford the journey to work, and so you call in sick. But is this the way of a runner? To quit the race because the path is rough? Suppose you do not have the fare, does God not see the sparrow fall? Go out, trusting Him, and if you must walk, let that very act be a prayer. You fear losing everything; but Christ lost even His life, and He is Lord of all. Why then do you cling to your room, your storage, your car, as if they were your life? The thing that you truly need is a heart free from high thoughts, a soul that can say, "The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be His name."

You wish the gator had taken you, or that you might choke and die. But this is the voice of despair, the very snare of the wicked one. To sin destroys not so much as to despair. For even the Ninevites, when they heard the threat of destruction, did not say, "It is too late." They repented, and the doom was reversed. So it is in your power to be healed. God's threatenings are not final decrees; they are calls to repentance. Do you not see? He has kept you alive through every danger thus far, not to mock you, but to give you space to turn. Will you throw that grace back in His face?

Do not call the Almighty an impostor because He does not shower you with money! He owes you nothing, yet you have been given breath and being. When you see a poor man begging and call him a swindler, I say, "Give nothing, and do not accuse." How much more should you regard God? If He withholds what you desire, it is perhaps because your soul would be ruined by abundance. The chastisement you feel now, the squeezing of your finances, the pain of your body, is not hatred, but love; it begins from loving care and, if endured with faith, ends in a glorious result.

Therefore, cast off this heaviness of spirit. The devil wants you to say, "It is useless to go on." But I say, it is precisely because the wall has not yet hit that there is still time to brace, to turn, to call out. Trust Him for one more day, not because some magic lottery might pay your bills, but because the true miracle is a soul that does not break. Get up, even if you limp. Do what you can, sell what you can, ask for help where you can, but above all, cry out to God with tears: "Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!" He will not let you be confounded at the last.
