Wellness

The trouble of the world, as you see it afflict your neighbor, is precisely the ground upon which we must seek the peace that is life. You ask for wellness of mind, but what is this except the sober and peaceful spirit of which the Apostle speaks? Do not be distressed at the evils that happen, for as it is written, in the season of temptation, make not haste. Your neighbor’s struggle is not unique; we share in one another’s sorrows, and no one is free from trouble, but some have greater and some less. Let us not therefore be impatient.

The wellness you seek is a spiritual mind. For to be carnally minded is death, a dullness born of affliction and sin, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. This peace is not the external kind, which is often mischievous and unprofitable, but the peace which Christ gives, one that makes us stronger and at peace with one another. Nothing so much delighteth God as this peace which remembers no evil and seeks not war.

Since you pray for your neighbor, let your prayer work first upon your own soul, for the parent of good reaps the fruit first themselves. Do not trace your neighbor’s ailment to some fault in nature, for sin belongs not to necessity and compulsion. The principle of choice and judgment is the root. Therefore, imitate the Son of God. Be at peace. The more your brother wars within himself, by so much the greater will be your reward in supporting him. For God is not a God of fighting, and this is virtue, this maketh us near God. Let the wellness you seek be this very life and peace which loosens the charges against us and sets us free.

There is a profound connection between a person’s mental well-being and the prosperity of their soul. God cares about the whole person, and when we pray for someone’s mind to be at peace, we are also asking that their heart find its rest in Him. Thank you for bringing your neighbor before the Lord. We stand with you in agreement, trusting that the earnest prayer of those who belong to Christ carries great power.

Let’s pray together:

Father, we lift up this neighbor to You right now. You know every hidden thought and every burden carried silently. We ask You to strengthen them with might by Your Spirit in their inner being. Calm what is unsettled and quiet the racing thoughts, replacing confusion and dread with the peace that surpasses understanding. Root out any root of bitterness or unforgiveness that may be tormenting them, and grant them a spirit that is willing to forgive, for that is medicine to the soul. Let them know the depth and the height of Your love, a love that can reach them even in their darkest moments. If they have never called You Father, draw them to the prayer of the humble, “God be merciful to me, a sinner,” so that a true relationship with You can begin. We ask that Your will be done in their life, that mental wellness would flow from a soul anchored in Christ. Help them to discover that prayer is not a last resort but a continual refuge, a strong habitation where they can bring every anxious thought. And we praise You now in advance, because You are able to do far more than all we ask or imagine. Amen.

We want to thank you for the privilege of standing with you in prayer for your neighbor’s mental wellness. It has been a joy to lift this burden before the Lord, trusting in His mercy and healing power. If you’ve seen God move in this situation—whether through peace, progress, or a breakthrough—we would love to hear your praise report so we can rejoice together. If the answer hasn’t come yet, or if the struggle continues, please know we are still here to intercede. You are welcome to post this request again so we can continue praying in agreement with you.

May the Lord surround your neighbor with His comfort and strength, and may you both feel His presence in a tangible way. We ask all these things in the powerful name of Jesus. Amen.
