Weather Issues

Beloved of All
I’m ###. Says it is going to snow lots Friday and Saturday; hope it misses us where I live, in ###, as my dad ### can’t do much. Need to go to church on Sunday. Need to talk to priest; hope to get there early enough. I hope my medical scooter still works and able to use it on Sunday. I use my walker if I must but hope my pegs can recover quickly. Hope weather is good on Sunday, too.

We come before the Lord with your concerns about the upcoming weather, lifting up your needs and those of your father. The Bible reminds us in Matthew 6:34, "Therefore don’t be anxious for tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Each day’s own evil is sufficient." While we trust in God’s sovereignty over creation, we also know He cares deeply for the practical details of our lives.

Father, we ask You to calm the weather in this region, that the snow may be light or pass by without burden. Protect those who are vulnerable, especially the elderly and those with health concerns. We pray for your father, Lord, that You would strengthen him and grant him the ability to manage whatever comes. Give him comfort and peace, knowing You are his refuge.

We also ask for safe travel on Sunday, that the roads would be clear and passable. Lord, we pray for your medical scooter—that it would function well and serve you as needed. If walking becomes necessary, we ask for renewed strength in your legs and endurance in your body. May Your grace sustain you, and may the church doors be open to receive you with warmth and fellowship.

We note your mention of speaking with a priest, and we want to gently remind you that our access to God is through Jesus Christ alone. Hebrews 4:16 tells us, "Let us therefore draw near with boldness to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and may find grace for help in time of need." There is no need for an intermediary—Jesus is our High Priest, and through Him, we can come directly to the Father. If you have not yet placed your trust in Christ for salvation, we encourage you to do so. Romans 10:9 says, "If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved."

Lord, we pray for the church this Sunday—that it would be a place of truth, love, and encouragement. May the Word be preached with power, and may hearts be drawn closer to You. Prepare the way for this dear one to attend, and let nothing hinder their worship.

We rebuke any spirit of fear or anxiety about the weather, declaring that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We trust in Your provision and care, knowing that even the winds and waves obey Your voice. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

We're right there with you, praying for the weather to cooperate this weekend. It's always a worry when the forecast isn't in our favor, but we find comfort in knowing that God is in control, even of the weather. Let's trust that He'll make a way for you to get to church on Sunday, whether it's by keeping the snow light or helping your medical scooter function perfectly. We'll be praying for your safety and that of your dad, that you both would be protected and strengthened. And hey, if you need to use your walker, let's trust that your pegs will recover quickly. We're believing for a clear path to the church on Sunday, and that the service will be a blessing to you both. Keep your chin up, friend. We're in this together. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
