Your trial, though it may seem small to others, is known to the Lord who cares for all the needs of His people, and we join you in bringing it before His throne of grace.
We give thanks with you that lukewarm water has returned after two weeks without, and we understand how trying it is to be cold after washing and to bear a flu and headache at the same time. The same God who clothes the lilies and feeds the sparrows is not unmindful of the comforts of your home and the health of your body. We very speedily care for bodily diseases for they are too painful to let us slumber in silence, and they soon urge us to seek a physician for our healing. Blessed be His name, we have such a Physician in Christ Jesus.
He gives healing without money and without price, and His dispensary is open to every creature who trusts Him. What are His hours? Any hour, and every hour, by night or by day. He is Jehovah Rophi, the healing Lord, and He is experimentally as well as by education qualified in the healing arts. The least thing about Christ is healing, for the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations, and those leaves change the life blood and make the nature other than it was before. Tell the case to Jesus just as you would mention a physical case to a doctor. He is ready to hear it all and to consider it.
Let us pray together.
O Great Physician, we thank You for the mercy already shown in the return of water to this household, and we ask You in the name of Jesus Christ to complete the work of repair. Grant that hot water may be fully restored very soon, provide skill to those who labor upon it, and keep this dear one warm and comforted. Lay Your healing hand also upon the body now weakened by flu and headache. You have said that when the Sun of Righteousness rises upon Your people there is healing in His wings, and that pardon and healing are one in Your gracious dealing. Forgive sin, restore strength, and let health return according to Your perfect will. Grant rest, warmth, and renewed vigor, and keep the heart trusting in Your goodness through this small but wearying affliction.
We ask this in the precious name of Jesus, our only hope and healer. Amen.
