We need hot water in my house

My apartment building has no hot water because they're repairing the heating system. They promised it would be fixed on last Tuesday, but they didn't finish. Please pray everything will be finished by tomorrow. It is impossible to shower in ice cold water…

Please pray for a mighty solution … if I have to move, please pray that God provides an alternative home
Apparently, they say that there won't be heating from 15th October because they couldn't agree on the repair costs, and no one wants to do the job.

Thank God the owners agreed on the repair costs — He heard our prayers! Work has begun today, and we have been promised that we will have hot water by tomorrow.

We join you in thanksgiving for the good news that the owners have agreed on the repair costs and that work has begun, and we continue to stand with you in prayer that the work will be completed as promised and hot water will be restored by tomorrow. We know how difficult it is to be without this basic comfort, especially while you are dealing with a mild flu, and how worrying it is to hear that heating might not be available going into the colder season.

We are reminded that God cares about every detail of our lives, even what may seem small to others. Philippians 4:6 says In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. You have done this, bringing your need before Him, and we have seen Him already answer part of your prayer. We also take comfort in Psalm 46:1 which tells us God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble, and in Philippians 4:19 that My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Whether He provides through the completed repairs or, if needed, through an alternative home, we trust He will supply what you need.

We also want to gently encourage you about the name by which we come to God in prayer. You thanked God and asked for prayer, which is good, but we want to remind you that it is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we are saved. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. It is because Jesus died for our sins and rose again that we can boldly bring our requests to God and have confidence He hears us. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust in Jesus as your Savior and to pray in His name.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we thank You in the name of Jesus for hearing our prayers and for moving the hearts of the owners to agree on the costs so that this needed work could begin. We praise You for Your provision and Your care. We ask now that You would guide the hands of the workers, give them skill and safety, and allow the repairs to the heating system to be completed fully and correctly by tomorrow as promised. Let the hot water be restored without further delay and let the heating be secure for the coming winter, so there will be no further threat of it being shut off. We also lift up this mild flu to You, Lord, and ask for Your healing touch upon this body. Psalm 103:3 says You forgive all our sins and heal all our diseases, and James 5:15 says the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. Bring quick recovery, strength, and rest. If a move should still become necessary, we ask that You would go before and prepare a suitable home that is affordable, safe, and warm. Help us to cast all our worries on You, because You care for us as 1 Peter 5:7 teaches. Give peace while waiting and faith to trust Your perfect timing and provision. We ask all this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and intercessor, amen.

We encourage you to keep seeking Him and to keep knocking as Matthew 7:7 teaches, Ask, and it will be given you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and it will be opened for you. Keep us updated on the completion of the work and your health, and we will continue to give thanks with you for every step of progress.

We were so glad to get your update and to hear the owners reached an agreement and work has finally begun. After waiting past the promised date, showering in cold water, and facing worry about heating in October, that news must have brought real relief, even while you are still waiting to see the hot water actually return. We are also praying for you as you deal with the flu on top of all this.

It makes sense to feel a little on edge until the job is completely done. If your flu symptoms linger or get worse, please consider seeing a doctor or clinic for care while we keep praying for healing. It may also help to keep a short note of what the building has promised for tomorrow and who to contact if there is another delay, so you have a clear next step and do not have to chase answers. If you have a trusted neighbor, family member, or nearby facility where you could shower for a day if needed, having that backup in mind can take some pressure off while you wait.

Father, we thank You for hearing prayer and for the agreement that allowed this repair to start. We ask for skill and steadiness for the workers and that hot water would be restored as promised. Please bring rest and recovery from this flu and give comfort and warmth at home in the days ahead. In Jesus' name, amen.

We have heard your cry and we rejoice with you that the Lord has already shown His hand in mercy. You asked for prayer that the owners might agree upon the cost, and you now tell us that God heard and they have agreed and the work has begun. Blessed be His name, for He is a God who hears prayer, and you have proved it in this very matter. As we have often said, where God begins to work He does not ask us to finish, He always completes His own work, and we trust He will complete this also and give you hot water again by the morrow as promised.

We do not count these small trials as little in His sight. He is the God of the hills and the God of the valleys, the God of great afflictions and the God of the daily wants of His children, and He sees the discomfort of a cold house and the weariness of a mild flu. He has created every circumstance that chequers life and He is not distant from you in it. In your cold rooms and in your waiting, He would have you enter into two precious things, the love of God and the patience of Christ. Tribulation works patience, and patience experience, and experience hope, and that hope makes not ashamed because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts.

We will pray that the workmen may be diligent and the repair be finished without further delay, that the promise for tomorrow be kept, and that the heating which is threatened to fail from the 15th of October may be secured for you and for all in the building. We ask the Lord to give you patience in this waiting, not the mere endurance of Job alone, but the patience of Jesus Himself who divinely rules Himself and waits in love. And we ask Him to touch your body and lift this flu from you, giving you strength and rest.

If it should be His will that you must move, we pray that He who puts each living stone in its proper place will provide for you a suitable home according to His wisdom, for no child of His is left without a habitation through His Spirit. But if it be His will that you remain, we pray He will establish you there in peace and warmth.

Above all we would have you trust Him not only for hot water but for your soul, to take God at His word and believe Him when He says He will save all who trust in the blood of Jesus Christ. That is true humility, to receive salvation straight from the throne of God and know there can be no mistake about it.

Let us pray together. O Father, we thank You that You have heard and answered in part, and we ask You now to perfect what You have begun. Grant that the repairs be completed in full, that hot water and heat be restored and remain, and that this Your child be healed of this sickness. Teach us to wait with the patience of Christ and to rest in Your love, and keep us trusting in Jesus our only Saviour. For Jesus sake. Amen.
