We lost all our savings

Me and my son got scammed. We lost all our savings ###. We are desperate. I cannot anymore support my mum whose pension is very small and is not enough for living. Please pray for us to get through this trauma and gain our money back. Thank you for your kindness.

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting you and your son up in this time of deep distress. The pain of betrayal and financial loss is profound, and the weight of responsibility for your mother adds to the burden you carry. We stand with you in prayer, trusting that our Heavenly Father sees your struggle and hears your cry.

The Bible tells us in Psalm 34:18-19, "The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all." Though this trial feels overwhelming, we declare that God is your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). He is not unaware of your needs, and He promises to provide for His children. In Matthew 6:31-33, Jesus assures us, "Therefore don’t be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’, ‘What will we drink?’ or, ‘With what will we be clothed?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well."

We also rebuke the spirit of deception that has stolen from you. The enemy comes to kill, steal, and destroy, but Jesus came that we may have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We pray that God would expose any further deceit and restore what has been taken from you. Proverbs 6:30-31 reminds us, "Men don’t despise a thief if he steals to satisfy himself when he is hungry; but if he is found, he shall restore seven times. He shall give all the substance of his house." While we trust God for restoration, we also encourage you to seek wisdom and counsel in handling this situation. Proverbs 15:22 says, "Where there is no counsel, plans fail; but in a multitude of counselors they are established." Reach out to trusted believers, financial advisors, or legal authorities who may help you navigate this trial.

We pray for your mother as well, that God would stretch her small pension and provide for her needs in miraculous ways. Philippians 4:19 assures us, "My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." We ask that God would open doors of provision, whether through unexpected help, opportunities for work, or the generosity of others. We also pray for your son, that he would find healing from this betrayal and grow in wisdom to avoid such schemes in the future. Proverbs 3:5-6 instructs, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths."

Father God, we come before You now, lifting up this family who has been deeply wounded by deception and loss. Lord, You are the God who sees and knows all things. You are the restorer of broken lives and the provider for those in need. We ask that You would move mightily on their behalf, exposing any further deceit and bringing justice to this situation. We pray for financial restoration, Lord, that what was stolen would be returned sevenfold, as Your Word promises. Provide for their every need, Father, and open doors of opportunity for them to regain stability.

We ask that You would heal their hearts from the trauma of this betrayal. Comfort them in their distress and fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Strengthen their faith, Lord, and help them to trust in You even when circumstances seem impossible. We pray for their mother, that You would stretch her pension and provide for her needs in ways only You can. Surround them with a community of believers who can offer support, encouragement, and practical help.

Lord, we also ask that You would grant them wisdom in the days ahead. Guide their steps and direct their paths as they seek to rebuild. Protect them from further harm and help them to grow in discernment so they may avoid such trials in the future. We declare that You are their provider, their healer, and their strength. May they experience Your presence in tangible ways and know that You are near to the brokenhearted.

We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above all names, the only name by which we can come before You. It is through His sacrifice and resurrection that we have access to Your throne of grace, and we claim His victory over this situation. May Your will be done in their lives, and may Your name be glorified through their testimony. Amen.

We are so sorry you and your son have been hit by this. The shock alone is disorienting, one moment life is stable, the next the ground is gone, and on top of that you are carrying the weight of not being able to help your mum the way you want to. That is a heavy grief all at once.

Something that often helps in the first days is to give the muddled feelings a little shape. You were targeted by a deception, not carelessness; the shame belongs entirely to the scammers. When the thought “I failed my family” loops, it can help to name it out loud together as the lie it is. You have been a faithful provider, and that has not changed.

On the practical side, and only if you haven’t already, it may bring some steadiness to connect with your bank’s fraud department and any official reporting channel in your country. We aren’t promising a recovery, but we know that taking one small, concrete step can push back against the helplessness. If a trusted friend could sit beside you while you make the calls, that is good, too. You are not meant to carry this alone.

As you let the dust settle, remember that your mother’s greatest need is not a large pension; it is a son and grandson who are still breathing, still in her life. Show her the same mercy you long for right now. You do not need to be a hero, just present.

We are holding you up as you grieve.

Lord Jesus, you see this family: the hollow feeling in their chests, the worry for grandmother, the thoughts that keep circling at night. Hold them steady. Surround them with one or two people who will simply show up and not rush them. Grant the right advocate to help navigate whatever can be done, and meantime provide daily bread in whatever form it needs to come. Let shame be lifted and a gentle clarity take its place. In your name alone we ask.

Heavenly Father, we lift up this mother, her son, and her elderly mother. They have been struck by a cruel injustice and have lost their savings. Lord, You are the Defender of the widow and the Father to the fatherless. We ask that You intervene in this impossible situation. Please open doors for justice and restoration, and somehow make a way for their money to be returned.

Until then, wrap Your arms around them. When they feel desperate, remind them that You are their Shepherd, and they shall not want. Please provide for their daily needs in ways they cannot yet see, and heal the trauma and shame in their hearts. Be their refuge and strength, a very present help in this time of trouble. In Jesus' mighty name, Amen.

You have been smitten with a sore stroke, and the adversary hath plundered your earthly store. Desperation is a dark valley, yet it is there that the Shepherd seeketh His lost sheep most earnestly. The Son of Man is come to save that which is lost, not only lost in soul, but lost in circumstance, lost in hope, lost in all that made life secure. He seeth your tears, and His heart is moved; for He was a Man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief, and He remembereth the widow’s mite and the orphan’s cry.

Yet think not that your treasure lieth only in silver and gold. These things pass away, but the soul’s true wealth is hid in Christ. When earthly props are cut away, we learn to lean upon the arm invisible. The loss of all may be the gaining of Him. I pray you, search your heart in this furnace: if you know Him, then nothing valuable is lost beyond recall. He can restore the years the locust hath eaten; He can give back what the thief hath stolen, yea, and restore into your bosom peace that passeth understanding. That same look which melted Peter’s heart and brought him to bitter but healing tears is fixed upon you now. He is not far from the broken in spirit.

As for your mother, cast her care upon Him who feedeth the ravens. The Lord hath given you a double burden, your son and your mother, but He will not fail you. The silver and the gold are His, and the cattle on a thousand hills. Seek first His kingdom, and all these things shall be added. I charge you, let not the fretting of this loss drive you to despair. Many a soul, utterly destroyed as to hope, hath been sought out and saved by Christ’s gracious power. The worst diseases can be healed, the most abandoned can be reclaimed. Your money may or may not be regained; but your soul, your son’s soul, your mother’s comfort, these are the lasting concern. Go to the throne of grace, lay this wreckage before Him, and believe that He will cause you to be as though He had not cast you aside. He will restore your joy, and perhaps your substance too, if it be for your good. But if not, He Himself will be your portion forever. That is the truest recovery: to find all in Him.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The loss of your savings is a heavy blow, and I do not make light of it. To be stripped of what you have labored for, to see your mother's need and feel unable to meet it, this is a fire that tries the soul. Yet in such a furnace, the true gold of faith is tested. You ask for prayer that you might gain your money back.

This is natural, but set your hope higher. Pray rather that you gain back your peace with God, that you come through this trial with a faith more precious than any earthly sum. For what does it profit a man if he regains all his wealth and yet loses his soul, perhaps by resorting to some forbidden means of recovery, or by letting bitterness and despair choke the word in him? I hear you are desirous to support your mother, whose pension is small.

This is a holy impulse, for God commanded, "Honor thy father and thy mother," and He does not look lightly on that love. But know that to honor her is first to present her to God in your prayers, and to keep yourself from sin for her sake. If you should turn aside to some unlawful path to recover what was stolen, you would disobey God, and that would wound her more than any poverty. There are those, when money is lost, who run to diviners and sorcerers, thinking to find relief.

But you, from the fear of God, because it is forbidden, must choose rather not to receive your money than to displease the Lord. That choice carries a reward equal to giving alms, if you give thanks in your loss. I bid you, therefore, do not say, "I cannot support my mother now," as though God's provision were at an end. He who fed His prophet by a raven can sustain her through hands you do not yet see.

But examine yourself. Perhaps this calamity came as a physician's knife, to cut away some hidden tumor, some love of money that was growing undetected. Despise not the chastening of the Lord. He allows such plunderings that we might learn to store up treasure where no thief approaches.

I do not call you to an easy thing. To be scammed is to be struck by injustice, and the heart cries out. But remember that even Christ was stripped, and He endured for our salvation. If you bear this patiently, entrusting your cause to the Righteous Judge, you will not lose your reward.

Receive your trial as from His hand, and let it teach you to cling to nothing in this world as if it were permanent. Comfort your mother not only with bread, but with words of eternal hope, and see in her need an occasion for your own soul to learn humility and dependence. The prayer I offer for you is not chiefly that the money returns, but that you emerge from this trauma with a faith so proved that you can say with the Apostle, "I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances." That is true gain, which no scammer can steal.
