Father, thank You for the prayer of the Apostle Paul asking, "You give us The Holy Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation to know You better. Grant the eyes of our heart to be flooded with light so we may know the hope of Your calling, the riches of Your glorious inheritance in the saints, and the surpassing greatness of Your power toward us who believe, which You exerted when You raised Messiah from the dead and seated Him at The Right Hand of Power in the heavenly places, far above all other rule, authority, power and dominion both in this age and the age to come. Thank You and you all in Jesus The Christ's Name (from Ephesians 1:17-21).

We join with you in thanking the Father for this beautiful prayer from Ephesians and we agree with you for this very revelation to flood our hearts and the hearts of all who believe.

We love how you have prayed the very words of Scripture back to God, for this is a prayer He delights to answer. The apostle Paul prayed that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him, having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope of his calling, and what are the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to that working of the strength of his might which he worked in Christ, when he raised him from the dead and made him to sit at his right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule, authority, power, dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age, but also in that which is to come. Eph 1:17-21

This is the heart of our faith, to know Him intimately. It is not merely to know about Him, but to know Him as our Father and to know Christ as our risen Lord. As it is written, let him who boasts boast in this, that he understands and knows me, that I am Yahweh who exercises loving kindness, justice, and righteousness in the earth, for I delight in these things, says Yahweh. Jer 9:24 And Paul's own cry was that I may know him and the power of his resurrection. Phil 3:10 That knowing comes by the Holy Spirit opening the eyes of our heart, because God who said, Light shall shine out of darkness, has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. 2 Cor 4:6

We are encouraged that you prayed this in the name of Jesus the Christ, for there is no other way to the Father and no other name by which we are saved and heard. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6 And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12 So we come boldly together through Him.

We pray together with you now.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, we thank You that You are the Father of glory and that You desire to be known by Your children. We ask You to give us all a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of You. Flood the eyes of our hearts with Your light. Cause us to truly know the hope to which You have called us, the sure and living hope of eternal life and of being conformed to the image of Your Son. Cause us to grasp the riches of the glory of Your inheritance in the saints, that we are Your treasured possession and that You rejoice over us. And cause us to know the exceeding greatness of Your power toward us who believe, the same mighty power that You exerted when You raised Messiah from the dead and seated Him at Your right hand far above all rule and authority, both in this age and in the age to come. Help us to walk in that resurrection power today, not in our own strength but in Yours, to live holy lives that honor You, to be filled with all the fullness of God. Eph 3:19 Keep us rooted and grounded in love and in Your Word, that we may know You more intimately each day. We thank You for hearing us because we ask in the mighty and only saving name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

When we praise Him even on ordinary days, our perspective steadies and hope takes deeper root.

We have heard your prayer and we join our Amen to it, for this is indeed the prayer which the apostle taught the saints at Ephesus to pray, and it is a prayer after the very heart of God.

You ask for the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him. This is true wisdom, not policy nor craft, but that wisdom which comes from trusting in the Lord. Christ Himself is the wisdom of God, and His gospel is the highest of all sciences. To know Him better is to find wisdom in its fountainhead, for in Him are hid all the treasures of wisdom, and He who trusts in the Lord shall find that happy wisdom which makes a man a fit companion for angels and brings him next to the Eternal One through Jesus Christ.

You ask that the eyes of your heart may be flooded with light. So we pray that God who spoke light at creation will shine into your understanding, that you may not lean upon your own sight but may see as babes see, to whom the Father reveals sacred truth. When the Spirit changes the nature, the sheep know the Shepherd's voice and follow Him, for He opens the treasures of wisdom to such as trust and love Him.

You ask to know the hope of His calling. This is no common hope. There is no hope in ourselves, and well it is when that false hope is smitten dead, for then there is hope for us in Him whom God has provided to be the Savior. Your calling is a high calling and a heavenly calling and a holy calling, a call from heaven and a call to heaven, wrought not by man but by God Himself. It is an effectual calling, for whom He calls He draws with dispatch, and they run after Him. We pray you may press toward the mark for the prize of this high calling of God in Christ Jesus, with full assurance that He who has called you will keep you.

You ask to know the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints. What riches are these, that God should count His people His inheritance and His jewels. The testimony of His Word declares His adoption of all who believe in His Son, and that He will dwell with His people as their household God. To be among that inheritance is to be loved with an everlasting love and kept as the apple of His eye.

You ask to know the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe, the same power which He exerted when He raised Messiah from the dead and seated Him at the right hand of power in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority. This is Christ the power of God. The gospel has proven itself to be the power of God unto salvation, and the same mighty arm that lifted Jesus from the grave is engaged to lift and keep every believing soul. He who is now upon the throne, co equal and co eternal with the Father, ever lives to intercede, and because He reigns, His people shall reign with Him.

So we pray with you, Father, grant unto all who love Thy Son the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, enlighten the eyes of our hearts, establish us in the sure hope of Thy heavenly calling, make us to rejoice in the riches of Thy inheritance, and let us feel in our own experience that resurrection power which triumphs over sin and death, through Jesus Christ our Lord, who is our wisdom, our hope, and our power, now and for ever. Amen.
