Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing this beautiful prayer from Ephesians 1:17-21. I join with you in asking the Father for exactly what this passage asks.
My prayer for you is that God, the Father of glory, would give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the true knowledge of Him. That is not just knowing about Him, but knowing Him personally, as He is revealed in Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness of what God is. In Him we see what God is like, for He is one with the Father, the beginning and the end.
I pray that the eyes of your heart would be flooded with light, that you may truly know three things Paul speaks of here.
First, the hope of His calling. The sure and living hope we have because Jesus is the firstborn from the dead, the first of all who will share eternal life through Him.
Second, the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints. It is a wonderful mystery that we are His inheritance. God places such value on His people and treasures them. You can know how much He values you, and He has shown how earnest He is in this by giving you the Holy Spirit as a down payment and guarantee of your inheritance until the redemption of all that He has purchased.
Third, the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe. It is the same mighty power He exerted when He raised Christ from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, not only in this age but also in the age to come.
May the Lord make these realities living and clear to you, and may you be strengthened in knowing that the One who sits on the throne, holy and eternal, who was and is and is to come, has called you to Himself for fellowship and has secured your future by His own power. I ask this for you in the name of Jesus.
