We hear your cry and we understand that you feel surrounded and harassed, even believing that neighbors, friends, family and coworkers are sending evil against you through witchcraft and through animals and pests, and that this has left you feeling tormented and angry. We stand with you together in Jesus' name to seek God's will, His protection and His peace over your life, your home, your neighborhood and your workplace.

We must lovingly rebuke and correct the way this request is framed, because it does not align with the heart of the gospel. You have asked that all your foes be plagued with scourges like the Egyptians, that their blood be shed like an ocean and that they be killed and burned to ashes. Yet the Lord calls us not to pray for the death and bloody destruction of people, but to pray for His protection, His justice and the repentance of those who do evil. Vengeance belongs to God alone, as it is written Romans 12:19, Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord. And Jesus commands us Matthew 5:44, Love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you. We also read Luke 6:27-28, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, and pray for those who mistreat you, and Romans 12:21, Don’t be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

We do believe that witchcraft, fetish and magic are real and are an abomination to God, as spoken in Deuteronomy 18:10-12, and that spiritual warfare is real. But our warfare is not against flesh and blood, as Ephesians 6:12 reminds us, For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Our weapons are not carnal but spiritual, For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds 2 Corinthians 10:4. The Egyptians plagues in Exodus 7:14-24, Exodus 8, Exodus 9, Exodus 10, Exodus 11, Exodus 12, the judgment on Sodom in Genesis 19:24, and the battles in Joshua 11:11 and 2 Chronicles 20:22-25 were sovereign acts of God as Judge, not prayers for personal revenge that we are to copy against our neighbors. Even Psalm 35 and Psalm 94 are cries for God to be the righteous Judge and Defender, while we leave the judgment in His hands.

We do not pray for your foes to be killed or for their blood to be shed, but we do pray that every assignment of witchcraft, every fetish and sanctuary of darkness directed against you would be rendered powerless and brought to nothing by the blood of Jesus, for greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world 1 John 4:4. We pray that those who practice such things would be convicted, exposed and brought to repentance and salvation, rather than destroyed without mercy.

We join together and pray for you now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our only mediator and Savior. We ask for Your forgiveness where anger and the desire for vengeance have taken root, and we ask You to cleanse this heart and fill it with Your love and peace. We ask that You surround Your child with Your divine protection, that he who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty Psalm 91:1-2. Place Your hedge around his home, his neighborhood and his workplace. We rebuke every spirit of witchcraft, fear, torment and oppression and we command it to leave in Jesus' name, for You have given us authority to trample on all the power of the enemy. Let no weapon formed against him prosper. We pray for his foes, whether in his family, among friends, neighbors or coworkers and worldwide, that You would bless them, open their eyes, and draw them to repentance, that they may be saved. If they persist in evil, we leave their judgment to You, the righteous Judge. Replace hatred with love, fear with faith, and turmoil with Your peace that passes all understanding. Teach him to put on the whole armor of God daily in Ephesians 6:10-18 and to overcome evil with good. We thank You that You hear us and that You are our refuge and deliverer. In the name of Jesus Christ we pray, amen.

We encourage you to remain steadfast in prayer, in the Word, and in fellowship with mature believers. Do not seek to return evil for evil, but commit your cause to the Lord who judges righteously. Dwell daily in Psalm 91, pray for those who persecute you, and trust that God sees, God protects, and God will deal justly in His perfect time.

We hear how much pressure you are carrying right now, feeling surrounded at home, with family and friends, and at work, and sensing that unseen opposition is coming against you. That kind of constant tension is exhausting, and we want you to know we are standing with you in prayer.

We believe spiritual opposition is real, and we also believe our security is in Christ. Our fight is not to get even with people around us, even when we feel hurt or targeted, but to stay close to Jesus, ask for His protection and peace, and trust Him to deal justly with what we cannot control. That can shift our prayers from asking for harm to asking for covering, wisdom, and a calm heart.

One steady step that helps many people in a season like this is to bring these burdens to a trusted pastor or mature believer in person, someone who knows you and can pray with you regularly and help you discern practical boundaries with neighbors and coworkers while you keep seeking the Lord. Staying rooted in simple prayer, fellowship, and rest often brings more clarity than staying focused on the conflict itself.

Father, in Jesus name we bring our brother before You. We ask for Your protection over his home and mind, for peace where there has been fear, and for wisdom for each relationship that feels strained. Guard him, steady him, and lead him in Your way. Help him to know he is safe in Christ and to walk in freedom and quiet trust. Amen.

The distress which breathes through your petition is heard, and the fear and vexation which come from feeling beset on every side, by neighbors, by tongues that speak evil, by those near and far, and by dread of hidden evil, are not hidden from Him who sees all. It is a heavy burden to live as though rats and cats and every creature were sent against you, and to feel that witchcraft and malice hem you round. Such oppression may well drive the soul to cry out.

Yet the cry which asks that foes be plagued with the scourges of Egypt, that blood be shed as an ocean, and that all be burned to dust, is not the path which the Lord Jesus has set before His people. There is a more excellent way, and it is opened to us in that sweet word, There is forgiveness with You, that You may be feared. Where there is no forgiveness, there may be dread and horror of God, such as devils know who tremble but are not pardoned, but where forgiveness is enjoyed there is put into the heart that true fear of God which is reverence and love and holy obedience. That fear is not torment, for torment comes from thinking of God as an implacable foe. The remedy is God with us, God made flesh. Till God in human flesh I see, my thoughts no comfort find, but if Immanuel's face appears, His name forbids my slavish fear, His grace removes my sins. Jesus Christ, eternally God, was born and lived and died as we also do, and that blessed link between us and God has taken all fear away for those who trust Him.

You have asked for vengeance, but consider what mercy has done for you if you are in Christ. God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you. Divine pardon is the only forgiveness possible, for no one can remit sin but God only, and He has done it completely through the blood of His Son. If God demands the penalty in justice, He Himself supplies it in love upon the cross. Let none suppose that He will twice exact the penalty of one sin. If you have known that eternal forgiveness, you have not to seek it as a future thing, you have it now, full and free, and you are called to show the same tender spirit. We are to forgive even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven us, and to urge that duty we point to the example of God Himself.

Persecution and opposition, when they are permitted, are not beyond His overruling hand. As He did with Pharaoh's oppression of Israel, He can make the aggrieved to increase and to be blessed, and He often uses the enmity of the world to drive the Christian nearer to his God. How many prayers have been offered as the result of trial that would never have been offered else. Often when we fear we are defeated, the Lord would have us do all the more in prayer and faith, not in cursing.

Therefore we will not ask the Lord to send plagues upon persons made in His image, nor to shed blood, nor to burn with fire after the manner you have entreated. Vengeance belongs to the Lord, and He will do what is just and right. Our part is to seek deliverance from evil, to ask for a new heart and a new spirit, and to pray for those who oppose us that they may be brought to repentance.

Let us pray together in a way that honors Christ. May the Lord put His fear in your heart, that you shall not depart from Him, and give you that faith which casts out slavish fear. May He cover you under His wing, keep you from all evil, and grant you peace in your neighborhood and workplace. May He forgive your sins through the blood of Jesus Christ alone, for there is salvation in no other, and may He teach you to forgive as you have been forgiven. And may He have mercy upon those who have spoken evil against you or sought your harm, that they may come to know the same forgiveness which is with Him, and so learn to fear Him with a holy and loving fear. May the Lord bless you and keep you, and cause His face to shine upon you, and give you rest in Christ.
