We hear your cry for protection in your new neighborhood and in your workplace and we join with you to seek the Lord's will together in Jesus' name. We understand the distress you feel from evil tongues, witchcraft, occult oppression, and those who have set themselves against you, and we take spiritual warfare seriously, for we know that our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places Ephesians 6:12.

Yet we must lovingly correct and rebuke the way this request is framed, because it does not align with the heart of Christ. You have asked that your foes be plagued with scourges, killed, their blood shed like an ocean, and burned to ashes and reduced to dust. This desire for personal vengeance and for the death of people, even wicked people, is not how Jesus teaches us to pray. The Lord says, Vengeance is mine, and recompense, at the time when their foot slides, for the day of their calamity is at hand Deuteronomy 32:35 and again, Don't seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God's wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me, I will repay, says the Lord Romans 12:19. And the Lord declares, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live Ezekiel 33:11. Even as you cited 1 Samuel 2:6 that Yahweh kills and makes alive, we must remember that this sovereignty belongs to God alone, not to us to command. We are commanded by Jesus, Love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you Matthew 5:44. We are to overcome evil with good Romans 12:21.

We also must address the spiritual reality you mentioned. Witchcraft, occult practices, sexual immorality including masturbation with instruments, homosexuality and transexuality, robbery and scamming are indeed sin before God and are works of darkness. The Scripture is clear that sorcery and sexual immorality outside of God's design for marriage between one man and one woman are sin and keep people from the kingdom unless they repent 1 Corinthians 6:9-11, Galatians 5:19-21, Exodus 22:18. We call these things what God calls them, not to condemn people to death by our own curse, but to call them to repentance, for God is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance 2 Peter 3:9. The weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds 2 Corinthians 10:4. Therefore we do not wrestle against people made in God's image, even when they are used by the enemy, but against the spirits driving them.

We also see you are standing on Psalms such as Psalm 35 and Psalm 94 and on passages like 2 Chronicles 20:22. Those Psalms are cries for God to be our vindicator and judge, and we can pray them rightly by asking God to stop evil, to expose and disarm witchcraft, and to bring justice according to His perfect righteousness, while leaving the judgment and timing to Him. In 2 Chronicles 20, it was Yahweh who set ambushes against the enemies when His people worshiped and trusted Him, not when they pronounced death curses themselves.

So we will pray with you not for the bloody death of your neighbors and coworkers, but for God's powerful protection, for the breaking of every curse and occult assignment, for the silencing of lying tongues, and for the salvation or removal according to God's will of those who persist in evil.

We pray together. Father in heaven, we come before You only through the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved Acts 4:12 and in Him we have boldness to approach Your throne. We thank You that You are our refuge and fortress Psalm 91:2 and that greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world 1 John 4:4. We ask You to put Your hedge of protection around our brother and his family in this new neighborhood and at his workplace. Let no weapon that is formed against him prosper Isaiah 54:17. We ask You to rebuke every evil tongue, every slander, every witchcraft and occult work, every marine spirit and spirit of sexual immorality, robbery and deception, and render it powerless by the blood of Jesus. We resist the devil and ask that he flee as we submit ourselves to You James 4:7. Clothe our brother with the whole armor of God, that he may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil Ephesians 6:11. Bring conviction and repentance to those who are practicing evil, that they may turn from darkness to light and be saved, but if they refuse to repent, we ask You Lord to thwart their schemes, to expose their works, and to execute Your righteous judgment in Your way and time, for You are a just judge Psalm 7:11. Fill our brother with love for his enemies, with peace that passes understanding, and with wisdom to walk in holiness, to flee sexual immorality 1 Corinthians 6:18, and to live quietly and peaceably among his neighbors. Keep him from fear, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control 2 Timothy 1:7. We trust You to be his vindicator and deliverer, and we give You all glory. In the mighty name of Jesus we pray, Amen.

We encourage you to continue in daily prayer, in the Word, in fellowship with a Bible believing church, and in fasting as the Lord leads. Do not return curse for curse, but bless, and keep your lips from speaking death over people who still have opportunity to repent. Walk in purity, guard your eyes and heart, and pursue holiness without which no one will see the Lord Hebrews 12:14. The Lord will fight for you, and you shall be still Exodus 14:14.

We hear how heavy this feels to sense opposition on every side right now, in your new neighborhood, with family and at work. Feeling surrounded like that is exhausting and can make it hard to find any rest.

We believe spiritual opposition is real, but we have also seen how easily it can pull our attention toward fear and toward the people we see as enemies, when our deepest security is found in staying close to Jesus and asking for His peace and protection over our own lives.

One gentle step that often helps is to bring this burden to one trusted pastor or mature believer in person, sharing only what feels most pressing right now, and asking them to pray regularly with you for protection, wisdom and calm, rather than carrying the long list alone and rehearsing it. Staying rooted in simple prayer, in community, and in practical boundaries at work and in the neighborhood can help you find steadier ground.

Father, we lift our friend to You right now. We ask You to cover them with Your peace, guard their home and workplace, quiet fear, and give clear wisdom for each day. Lead them into rest and into Your will, and help them sense Your nearness and care. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your cry in the midst of conflict and distress has been heard, and we join you in seeking the Lord's help for your home, your family and your place of work where you feel pressed on every side.

The Word of God teaches us that there is forgiveness with Him, that He may be feared. There is forgiveness, but that forgiveness is only to be obtained from God, through Jesus Christ, His Son. It is a divine forgiveness, surprising and complete, by which when a man trusts Christ his sin is so entirely gone that it is as though it had never been. The gifts and calling of God are without repentance, and He continues daily to forgive those who come to Him through the precious blood of Christ.

Because we have received such great forgiveness for great sin, we are called to study the pattern of forgiveness set before us and to copy it. Even as Christ forgave you, so also do you. Our Lord lived a life of forgiveness and crowned it with His dying prayer for His persecutors, Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do. He loved His enemies, He lived for His enemies, He died for His enemies. And He has taught us to pray not for the destruction of those who oppose us, but for their salvation, and to overcome evil with good.

Vengeance belongs to the Lord, and our warfare is not to ask for plagues and bloodshed upon persons made in His image, but to ask for His protection, His peace and His power to make us faithful witnesses where we dwell and where we labour. We cannot ask God to bless what His Word calls sin, for we hold fast to His good design that marriage is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman and that sexual intimacy belongs within it, and that salvation is through Jesus Christ alone. Yet we also know that Christ came to save sinners, and that if any man, whatever his sin has been, will turn to Him with a penitent heart, he may have the chief of sinners forgiveness bestowed even now.

Therefore let us pray otherwise than for the death of foes. Let us pray that the Lord will keep you in perfect peace as your mind is stayed on Him, that He will be a wall of fire about your household and your going out and coming in, that He will guard you from all evil and from the power of darkness, and that He will give you grace to forgive as you have been forgiven.

We pray for you, that you may know more deeply the peace of God which passes all understanding, that you may be filled with a holy fear and love for Him who has blotted out your sins, and that you may have strength to love your neighbours and those who oppose you, doing good to them and praying for them. And we pray for those around you in your neighbourhood and workplace, whatever their life or practice, that the Lord in His mercy would bring them to see their need of Christ, to repent and to receive that same forgiveness which is offered to all through His blood, that they may receive a new heart and a new spirit.

If you have not already done so, look to Jesus Christ alone for forgiveness. Believe in the forgiveness of sins for yourself, trust His finished work, and go your way in peace. And having been forgiven, you will find in your heart that holy awe and love which moves you to fear God and to walk in His ways, and to commend His grace to others.
