Father in heaven, we come before you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, asking for your forgiveness where we have misdirected prayer, and asking for your protection, guidance, and peace over this dear one this year. Lord, you are our refuge and fortress Psalm 91:2, and we ask that you command your angels concerning us as you have promised, but we look to you alone as our protector and shield Psalm 18:2. Scatter every foe and every evil plot formed against us, for no weapon that is formed against you will prosper Isaiah 54:17, and let your will be done. We release any desire for personal vengeance to you, trusting your perfect justice, and we ask you to illuminate our path by your Word, which is a lamp to our feet and a light for our path Psalm 119:105. Fill our heart with your peace that surpasses all understanding Philippians 4:7, and lead us by your Holy Spirit. We trust not in angels but in you, the living God, and we pray all this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, asking that you draw us into saving faith in Him. Amen.

We have read your prayer and hear the weight behind it. Wanting protection and clear guidance for the year ahead, especially when it feels like others are working against you and even your belongings and daily activities have been affected, is a heavy burden to carry. It makes sense you are looking for peace and a sense that someone is watching over you.

We believe God does see you and cares about your safety and your path. In Jesus we can bring our fears directly to Him and ask Him to be our shelter and guide, trusting Him with both justice and our daily steps. You do not have to hold this alone.

One steady step that often helps when fear feels close is to invite one trusted person in, a pastor or mature believer you know, to pray with you regularly and to know what you are facing day to day. Having that consistent, grounded support can make it easier to discern next steps and to not stay isolated with the worry.

Father, we lift them to You in Jesus name. Cover them with Your care, calm their heart and guide their steps this year. Give them wisdom for each decision, peace in place of fear, and trusted people around them. We trust them to Your good hands. Amen.

Your prayer breathes a deep sense of need for protection and guidance in a year that feels full of warfare, and it is right to seek the Lord for keeping in such times.

Concerning the angels of whom you speak, the Scripture does indeed say, He shall give His angels charge over you to keep you in all your ways, yet the promise belongs to those who walk in the ways appointed by God Himself. He who travels on the King's Highway is under the King's protection, but he who takes to byroads must protect himself. Angels are not to be called upon or invoked as protectors in themselves, for they are ministering spirits sent forth by God to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation. Our trust is not to be placed in the angel, but in the God who charges the angel. There is one Mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, and it is to the Father through Him we are to pray. The protection you desire is perpetual as well as personal when you wait upon God and seek His counsel in childlike trust, daring not to lean upon your own understanding.

You also ask for vengeance upon foes who have plotted against you. Hear what the Word declares, for the day of vengeance is in the heart of God, and vengeance belongs unto the Lord. For the believer, that solemn truth has a sweet turn, for vengeance smote our Surety's head. Legal claims are fully met, Jesus paid the dreadful debt. The day of vengeance for sin was spent upon Christ at Calvary when He died for His people, so that now no more His wrath we dread. We are not to seek personal vengeance, but to leave it in the hands of the righteous Judge, praying even for those who oppose us, that they might be brought to repentance, while we rest in His just keeping.

And as to guidance, that we may not be led astray, true guidance comes not by seeking illumination from an angel, but by bowing with submission to the will of God and being furnished with unerring guidance through His Word and counsel. There are great principles infused in every man who takes God for his Guide, among them to avoid everything that is evil and to wait upon the Lord and not make haste, for haste is the author of a great deal of mischief in human life. If you are guided by His counsel here, you shall afterward be received to glory, for on earth there is no real glory for us unless we are guided by God's counsel.

Let us then pray for you not as you worded it, but as Scripture teaches us to pray. May the Lord Himself be your keeper and your shield, may He scatter the assaults of the enemy according to His wisdom, may He guide your steps by His counsel through His Word and Spirit, and may He keep you in all your ways as you abide in Christ, who alone is our acceptance and our peace. Cast your care wholly upon Him who cares for you, and walk in the appointed way of faith and obedience, and you shall find that you will always have Divine keeping, for God would not have charged His angels to keep His people in all their ways if they did not need protection in all their ways.

God bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, mind, soul, body, and strength and never fall out of love with You. God, bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, Your righteousness, and to always respect and obey You. Bless me to know You, the way You want me to know You. So that I will trust You with my life and anyway that You move in my life. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, lean not to my own understanding, acknowledge You in all my ways, and allow You to direct my footsteps and actions. Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.

God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God-conscious-solution-focused-heart-mind-spirit-and-attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. Your prayer for protection and guidance reflects a heart that wants to walk safely with God, and that desire is good and He hears those who call on Him through Jesus Christ.

At the same time, part of what you asked needs to be gently corrected in love. To ask God for vengeance against those who have plotted against you or harmed your belongings is not what Christ teaches us to pray. Scripture forbids praying against those who have grieved us to seek redress and vengeance, for He said to pray for your enemies. Vengeance belongs to the Lord, and when we hold onto a desire to be revengeful we harm ourselves more than others, binding up our own sins rather than finding mercy. The delay of judgment is not given so that we may see others punished, but so that we may repent and be amended, and so that others also may have space to turn.

The warfare Scripture speaks of is a good warfare, not a bad one. It is not first a battle against people who oppose us, but a battle against sin, temptation and the evil one, fought with sobriety, vigilance and faith under Christ our King. Even in moderate temptations we do not stand by our own power, but require aid from Him to pass through them. God does give His angels charge over His people, as Psalm 91 says, and they are ministering spirits sent to serve, but our prayer and trust are to be directed to God Himself through Jesus Christ alone, for salvation and protection come through Him alone, not by calling upon an angel as a separate protector.

So let us pray not for the destruction of foes, but for your protection, wisdom and peace, and also for those who have done you harm that God would turn their hearts to good and bring all to repentance. If there are sins unrepented in our own lives, let us bring them honestly before God, for remembrance of our sins with repentance brings mercy, while clinging to anger keeps us from it.

We will pray for you now that God, for the sake of Christ, will guard you and your household, guide your steps, illuminate your path with His word, keep you from evil, give you a watchful and peaceful heart, and help you to war the good warfare with endurance. May He use even this trial to conform you more to Christ and to bring reconciliation where there has been conflict.
