Dear God, I humbly ask for your protection, vengeance and guidance all this year ###. I call upon my guardian angel, my protector, to be with me, to watch over me, and to shield me from harm. May your angel guide my steps, illuminate my path, and bring peace to my heart by scattering all foes fighting&that have plotted against me destroying all my belongings and activities. I trust in your divine care and the power of your angels ###. Amen.(Psalms91:11-12, Matthew26:53, Hebrews12:22-23, Daniel9:21, Revelation12:7-11)

We join with you in seeking the Lord for His protection, guidance and deliverance this year, and we hear the burden on your heart as you feel surrounded by foes who have plotted against you and have sought to destroy what belongs to you and the work of your hands.

We want to gently and lovingly correct something in your prayer that does not align with Scripture. You called upon your guardian angel to be with you and to shield you. The Bible teaches that we are to pray directly to God the Father through Jesus Christ alone, not to angels. Angels are holy servants of God who do His bidding, not ours. For He will give his angels charge over you, to guard you in all your ways Psalm 91:11, and Are they not all serving spirits, sent out to do service for the sake of those who will inherit salvation Hebrews 1:14, and The angel of Yahweh encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them Psalm 34:7. We never see in Scripture that we are to pray to angels, command them or invoke them. In fact we are warned Let no one rob you of your prize by a voluntary humility and worshipping of the angels Colossians 2:18, and when John fell down to worship an angel he was told See you do not do it. Worship God Revelation 19:10. Your protection and guidance must be asked of God Himself, and He in His sovereignty will command His angels concerning you.

We also hear your cry for vengeance. It is right to bring your enemies and the injustice you have suffered before the Lord, but vengeance belongs to Him alone. Avenge not yourselves, but give place to Gods wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me, I will repay, says the Lord Romans 12:19. Our calling is to trust His justice, to not seek personal revenge, and to overcome evil with good while He fights for us.

We also noticed your prayer was addressed to God in general but did not mention Jesus Christ. We say this in love because there is only one way to the Father. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6, and There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus 1 Timothy 2:5, and There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. It is only through faith in Jesus, His death and resurrection for our sins, that we have access to God and assurance that He hears our prayers. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust fully in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

We understand that spiritual warfare is real, for our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the worlds rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places Ephesians 6:12, and the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds 2 Corinthians 10:4. Our victory is in Christ as we put on the whole armor of God Ephesians 6:11 and abide in Him.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, and we thank You that You are our refuge and fortress, our God in whom we trust Psalm 91:2. We ask for Your divine protection over this dear one this year, over their life, their home, their belongings and all the work of their hands. Cover them under Your wings and let no weapon that is formed against them prosper Isaiah 54:17. We ask that You would guide their steps and illuminate their path, for You have said I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you shall go. I will counsel you with my eye on you Psalm 32:8, and Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight Proverbs 3:5-6. Lord, where there has been plotting and destruction, we ask for Your justice and Your restoration. We place all enemies and every injustice into Your hands, trusting Your perfect vengeance and mercy, and we ask You to scatter every spiritual foe according to Your will and to bring peace to this troubled heart. Fill them with Your peace that passes all understanding and help them to walk in forgiveness and righteousness before You. Strengthen them to stand firm in Christ, clothed in the armor of God, and to keep their eyes on Jesus. We pray that they would know more deeply that You are faithful, who will establish them and guard them from the evil one 2 Thessalonians 3:3. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, Amen.

We encourage you to continue to seek Him daily in prayer and in His Word, to pray directly to the Father in Jesus name, to leave all vengeance to the Lord, and to trust that He who commands the angels is Himself watching over you and will never leave you nor forsake you.

We hear the weight behind your prayer for protection and guidance through this year. When it feels like foes are plotting and even your belongings and daily activities are under attack, it makes sense to long for a strong shield and peace in your heart.

We join you in bringing that longing directly to God, who sees what you are facing and cares for your safety and your steps. While we understand the comfort of wanting an angel close by, we find our confidence as we ask the Father himself to watch over us and to lead us, trusting that He provides what we need in His way and timing.

It can help not to carry this fear alone. One steady next step could be to choose one trusted person, perhaps a pastor or a mature believer you know, and invite them to pray with you regularly and to know how you are doing week by week. Having that consistent support often brings clearer perspective when worries feel overwhelming and reminds us we are not alone.

Father, we bring our friend to You in Jesus' name. We ask for Your protection over their life and home, for wisdom for each decision, and for Your peace to guard their heart. Lead their steps, show them Your care day by day, and help them rest in Your faithful presence. Amen.

Your heartfelt desire for protection, guidance and deliverance in this year is heard, and it is right to bring such burdens to the Lord who alone is our shield and keeper.

Scripture does indeed teach that God gives His angels charge over His people, and that they are ministering spirits sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation. Yet the same Scripture never teaches us to call upon an angel, to invoke a guardian angel, or to pray to angels for help. We are to call upon the Lord Himself. Our help is not from the angel, but from the God who sends the angel. As it is written, He shall give His angels charge over thee, but it is He who keeps thee. To pray to an angel, even with good intent, turns the eye from the Master to the servant. Come boldly to the throne of grace through Jesus Christ alone, for there is one Mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, and through His blood we have access to the Father.

You ask also for vengeance and for the scattering of foes. Know then what the Word teaches concerning vengeance. Vengeance belongs unto the Lord. The day of vengeance was seen most terribly when all the waves and billows of divine wrath went over the innocent head of our Substitute in Gethsemane and at Calvary. There Christ bore the vengeance due to sin for His people, so that for those who are in Him the day of vengeance is over, and the year of acceptance has come. For those who remain enemies of the cross, there abides a day of vengeance of our God. Our part is not to seek personal revenge, but to leave room for the righteous judgment of God, to pray for grace to love even our enemies, and to trust the Lord to deal justly. He has often delivered His servants by touching the hearts of their enemies, or by bringing their cruel devices to nothing, as He did with Haman when he plotted against His people. He can preserve you without our asking Him to destroy men after our own desire. Pray rather, Father, let Thy will be done, vindicate Thy name, and keep me from repaying evil for evil.

You ask for guidance to illuminate your path and bring peace to your heart. This is a gracious need, and it is met not by an angel's light but by the Lord Himself. The psalmist said, Thou shalt guide me with Thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory. Divine guidance comes through His Word, through the great principles He infuses into the heart that fears Him, to avoid everything that is evil and to bow with submission to the divine will. Wisdom dressed in robes of love and tenderness invites us to run into her arms. Grace dethrones obstinacy and gives acquiescence in the divine will, and by that very fact we are furnished with unerring guidance. Haste is the author of much mischief, but waiting upon the Lord and walking in His counsel gives peace that no foe can scatter.

Let me pray for you in the way Scripture directs, to the Father through the Son:

O Lord our God, we thank Thee that Thou art our keeper and our shade upon our right hand. We ask in the name of Jesus Christ Thy Son, who alone is our salvation, that Thou wouldst keep this Thy servant this year in Thy faithful care. Cover with Thy feathers, guide with Thy counsel, restrain from sin and preserve from evil. If it be Thy will, deliver from the hands of those who plot harm, and turn their hearts or bring their counsels to nothing, as seemeth good in Thy sight. Grant not a spirit of vengeance, but a heart that forgives as it has been forgiven, trusting all judgment to Thee. Lead by Thy Holy Spirit, infuse holy principles, make the path plain through Thy Word, and bring peace that passeth understanding through Christ. And afterward receive to glory for His sake. Amen.

Trust not in angels, but in the God of angels. Look to Christ, who suffered vengeance for His people that they might know acceptance, and who ever lives to guide His sheep till He brings them home.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your longing for God's protection and guidance through this year is understandable, and it is good to seek Him for safety and direction. Scripture does promise that God is our refuge and keeper, and that He is able to guard those who trust in Him through Jesus Christ.

At the same time, the way we ask for that protection matters. The Bible teaches that vengeance belongs to the Lord alone, not to us. We are not to call upon God to take vengeance for us or to scatter and destroy those we see as foes, but to entrust justice to Him and to pray even for those who oppose us. As one of the homilies reminds us, we gain much when we bear meekly the spiteful acts of enemies. Patience under wrong brings deliverance from sin, strength, gentleness, and freedom from anger and sorrow. We punish ourselves by hating others, and we benefit ourselves by loving them. That love does not excuse wrongdoing, but it frees our hearts from bitterness and leaves judgment in God's hands.

Scripture also shows that Christ Himself is seated at the right hand of God, expecting until His enemies are put under His feet. God has not yet put all enemies under Him at once, for the sake of those who will still come to faith. Our enemies in the deepest sense are not people, but sin, death, and the spiritual forces of evil. God will bring all things under Christ in His own time, and our calling now is to trust His timing.

You mentioned your guardian angel. The Bible does say that God gives His angels charge over His people and that they are ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation, and that Jesus could have called legions of angels but instead went to the cross for our sake. Yet we do not pray to angels or call upon them as protectors. We pray to the Father through the Son, trusting in Jesus Christ alone for salvation and protection. It is Christ who shields us, guides our steps, and illuminates our path.

The Christian life is indeed warfare, but it is a good warfare. It is not service under a tyrant but under a King. That warfare requires strong arms, sobriety, watchfulness and continual vigilance. It is not a life of ease or luxury, but of contest and endurance. The present time is the time for toil and faithfulness, and the season for rest will come with Christ. God sometimes permits trials not to destroy us, but to teach us to despise death and to set our hope more firmly on the immortality of the soul and the life to come. To walk as God intends is to show self restraint, to make no account of mere human boasting or malice, and to live as citizens of heaven even while on earth.

So let us pray not for vengeance on people who have harmed you or your belongings, but for God's merciful protection, for wisdom to walk faithfully, and for grace to love those who oppose you while trusting God to make all things right.

A prayer for you in this spirit:

Father in heaven, I come to You through Jesus Christ, Your Son, who alone is my Savior. Forgive my sins and make me Your child through His cross and resurrection. Keep me under Your care this year. Guard my life, my home and my work according to Your will. Guide my steps, give light to my path, and give peace to my heart. Teach me to war a good warfare, to be sober and watchful, to resist sin and to stand firm in faith. Where others have plotted harm or caused loss, I place them in Your hands. Bring justice in Your perfect way and time, and bring them also to repentance and faith if it be Your will. Free me from hatred and anger, and fill me with patience, mildness and love. Let me trust not in angels but in You who commands them, and let Your will be done in my life. In the name of Jesus Christ I pray, Amen.

If you have not already, place your full trust in Jesus Christ alone for forgiveness and life, and seek to walk with Him daily in His Word, in prayer, and in fellowship with His people.
