Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, asking for Your forgiveness where we have misdirected prayer, and asking for Your mercy and grace. We ask for Your divine protection over this dear one, that You would guard them in all their ways, guide their steps and illuminate their path with Your word, which is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path Psalm 119:105. We ask that You scatter every foe and every plot of the enemy, and that You restore what has been taken or destroyed, for You are our refuge and fortress. We ask that You grant peace to their heart that surpasses all understanding, and help them to trust not in angels but in You, the Lord of hosts who commands the angels. We submit vengeance into Your righteous hands and ask for Your justice and mercy to prevail. Lead them in Your will and keep them from harm this year and always. We pray all this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, amen.

Thank you for bringing your heart before God so openly. Wanting to feel safe and guided as you step into this year makes sense, especially when it feels like opposition is close and belongings and daily activities have been under strain.

We hear your longing for protection and peace. We believe God himself is your shield and guide, present to hear you when you call on him through Jesus. In seasons when the struggle feels both spiritual and very practical, it helps to keep our eyes on Christ's care rather than getting consumed by the battle itself.

One simple step that has helped many is to take a few quiet minutes each morning to bring your specific concerns for the day directly to God in Jesus' name, asking for wisdom for the next step and peace for your heart, and to share those burdens with a trusted pastor or mature believer who can pray with you regularly.

Father in Jesus' name we bring our friend before you. Cover them with your protection, calm their heart and guide their steps this year. Give them wisdom for each decision and peace that steadies them when worries press in. Help them to rest in your care and to know you are near. Amen.

Your cry for protection and guidance in this year of conflict has been heard, and it is right and good that you should seek the Lord in your distress, for He alone is our refuge and our fortress.

The Scriptures you have quoted do indeed teach us that the Lord gives His angels charge over His people, and that they are ministering spirits sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation, and that our Lord could have called twelve legions of angels to deliver Him. Yet the Word does not teach us to call upon or to pray to angels, even guardian angels, but to call upon the living God Himself. The angels are servants of the Most High and do His bidding, but our prayer is to be directed to the Father through Jesus Christ the Son, who has opened the way by His blood. It is the Lord who shields, who guides, and who keeps, and He often does so by the ministry of His heavenly hosts according to His sovereign will.

You ask also for vengeance and for the scattering of foes. Know this, that vengeance belongs unto the Lord. As it is written, the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven taking vengeance on them that know not God. There was a day of vengeance when the wrath of God fell upon His own dear Son in Gethsemane and at Calvary for His people, and there shall be a day of vengeance when He shall cast down the mighty from their seats. For us, our part is to leave all recompense in His hands, to love our enemies and to pray for them, and to trust His wise and holy providence to break in pieces all that sets itself up against His purposes. He will lift up the poor from the dunghill while He casts down that which is proud and arrogant.

You ask for guidance and for peace of heart. True guidance comes not by demanding a path of our own choosing, but by bowing with submission to the will of God. The psalmist says, Thou shalt guide me with Thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory. When grace dethrones our obstinacy and gives us acquiescence in the divine will, we are furnished with unerring guidance. And peace is not found in the mere scattering of outward foes, but in being delivered from all our transgressions through the atoning blood of Christ. Seek first to be reconciled to God through faith in Jesus Christ alone, for there is no other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved, and then you shall find that He sends from above and draws you out of many waters.

We will pray for you after this manner, that the Lord Himself would be your keeper, that He would guide your steps by His counsel and by His Spirit, that He would deliver you from all evil and keep your heart in perfect peace as you trust in Him, that He would deal justly and mercifully with those who have plotted against you and bring all things under His righteous rule, and that you would know more fully the comfort of being under the shadow of the Almighty through Jesus Christ our Lord, in whom alone we have acceptance and protection.

Your prayer shows a sincere desire for God's protection and guidance through this year, and that desire is good. God is your true protector and He does hear those who come to Him through Jesus Christ.

I want to gently help you pray in a way that is more according to Scripture on two points you mentioned.

First, regarding vengeance and foes. It is natural to want God to scatter those who have harmed you and destroyed what belongs to you, but Scripture teaches us not to seek vengeance for ourselves. The Lord says, Vengeance belongs to Me, I will repay. He remains alive and just, and He will bring perfect judgment in His own time, when He makes His enemies His footstool. Our part is not to ask God to take revenge for us, but to pray for those who have grieved us, as Christ said, pray for your enemies. When we hold on to a desire for revenge we bind up our own sins more tightly, but when we leave judgment to God we find peace and we keep our own hearts free. The true warfare to which you are called is a good warfare, which requires vigilance and sobriety against sin and the spiritual enemy, not a warfare against people. God will perfect His victory over all evil, including the demons who are our true enemies, through the one offering of Christ.

Second, regarding your guardian angel. The angels are indeed holy servants of God who rejoice over us and are sent to minister according to His command, as you noted in Psalm 91 and Matthew 26. But they are not to be called upon or prayed to as protectors in themselves. They were once far from us, and only through Christ have we been reconciled to them, and now they serve Him. Our confidence and our prayer should be directed to God the Father through Jesus Christ alone, for Christ alone is our mediator and advocate. We do not place our trust in angels, but in the Lord who commands them. We ask Him for protection, and He in His wisdom sends help as He wills.

So let us pray together in this way instead. Pray that God will keep you in His care, illuminate your path by His Word and Spirit, grant you peace in your heart, and teach you to walk in holiness and love. Pray that He will protect you from the schemes of the evil one and from sin, and that He will give you grace to forgive and to pray for those who have plotted against you, that they also might come to repentance. Pray that He will restore what has been lost according to His mercy and guide your steps in every activity this year.

If you have not already, bring any unrepented sin to Him in confession, trusting only in the grace of Jesus Christ, for His grace is sufficient and His strength is made perfect in our weakness. He is the one Lord who sits at the right hand of God until all enemies are put under His feet.

May the Lord Himself watch over you, guide you, and keep you in His perfect peace as you trust not in angels but in Him who sends them, and may He teach you to love even your enemies as you leave all vengeance in His righteous hands.
