Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son. We thank You that You are our refuge and fortress, our protector and guide. We ask for Your divine protection over this dear one throughout this year, that You would guard their steps, illuminate their path with Your Word, which is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path in Psalm 119:105, and grant peace that passes all understanding in Philippians 4:7. Lord, You see the foes and the plots and the destruction that has come against their belongings and activities, and we ask You to scatter every evil plan according to Your will, to restrain the enemy, and to let no weapon that is formed against them prosper in Isaiah 54:17. We leave vengeance to You and ask You to deal justly and mercifully, and to help this dear one to forgive as You have forgiven us in Ephesians 4:32. Command Your angels concerning them according to Your perfect wisdom, and above all let Your Holy Spirit guide and comfort them. Draw them closer to Jesus, and if they have not yet put their trust in Him for salvation, we pray they would believe that Jesus died for their sins and rose again and confess Him as Lord in Romans 10:9. We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and mediator, amen.

We hear how much you are carrying as you look ahead to this year, wanting to be safe and to have clear guidance when it feels like others have plotted against you and even your belongings and daily activities have been affected. Wanting protection and peace in that kind of pressure makes sense.

We are joining you in bringing those very real concerns to God. He is the One who watches over you, and we can come to Him directly through Jesus and trust His care to guide your steps and steady your heart when fear feels close.

It can help not to walk through a fearful season alone. If you have a trusted pastor or a mature believer nearby, consider letting them know how you have been feeling and asking if they would pray with you regularly in the coming months. Having someone who knows you and can pray alongside you often brings steadiness and clarity.

Father, we lift this dear one to You now. We ask for Your protection over them and for Your wisdom to guide each step this year. Quiet fear with Your presence, show the next step to take, and guard their heart with Your peace. Help them to know they are heard and cared for as they seek You. We pray this in Jesus' name, amen.

Your desire for protection and guidance when you feel beset by foes and see your belongings and labors under attack is understood, and it is right to bring such burdens before the Lord.

Scripture does indeed teach that the Lord gives His angels charge over His people to keep them in all their ways, as Psalm 91 declares, and that they are ministering spirits sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation. Yet we are not taught to call upon or pray to angels, not even to a guardian angel, but to call upon the Lord Himself who commands them. Our Lord Jesus said He could have prayed to His Father and received more than twelve legions of angels, but He submitted to the Father's will and went to the cross. Our trust, therefore, is not in the power of angels, but in the divine care of God who sends them according to His wisdom. It is God who shields, God who guides, and God who keeps.

You also ask for vengeance. Hear what the Word says, vengeance belongs unto the Lord. The day of vengeance is in His heart, not in ours. For those who are in Christ, that vengeance has already fallen upon our Surety. As it has been said, vengeance smote our Surety's head, legal claims are fully met, Jesus paid the dreadful debt, and now no more His wrath we dread. What remains for us is not to call down personal vengeance upon our enemies, but to leave all judgment to Him who judges righteously, to pray for those who oppose us, and to seek grace to forgive as we have been forgiven.

You ask for guidance. The psalmist says, Thou shalt guide me with Thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory. That guidance comes as we bow with submission to the will of God, avoid everything that is evil, and wait upon Him in childlike trust rather than leaning upon our own understanding or hastening ahead of His providence. He who travels on the King's Highway is under the King's protection, but he who takes to byroads must protect himself. Safety is guaranteed in appointed ways, in the way of holiness, in the way of faith and obedience to His Word. There, angelic keeping is perpetual as well as personal, for God would not have charged His angels to keep His people in all their ways if they did not need protection in all their ways.

So let us pray not to angels, but to the Father through Jesus Christ alone, for it is through Him only that we have acceptance and access.

Our prayer for you is that the Lord Himself would be your shield and keeper this year, that He would guide you with His counsel through His Word and Spirit, illuminate your path, and grant peace to your heart. May He deliver you from every evil work, restrain the designs of those who plot against you, and redeem what has been harmed, and may He keep your feet in His appointed ways where His protection is promised. May He teach you to leave vengeance in His hands and to walk in trust and obedience, looking to Christ who bore wrath for sinners and now lives to intercede for them. Cast your care upon Him, abide under the shadow of the Almighty, and you shall find Him faithful.

May the Lord turn your warfare into witness, and bring you through affliction with joy, until He at last receives you to glory. Amen.

Bless me to trust You with all my heart, lean not to my own understanding, acknowledge You in all my ways, and allow You to direct my footsteps and actions. Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.

God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God-conscious-solution-focused-heart-mind-spirit-and-attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. Your prayer for protection and guidance through this year has been heard, and I understand the distress that leads you to ask for God to scatter those who have plotted against you and harmed your belongings and work.

Scripture does promise God's care for His people, and it is right to seek His protection and direction. At the same time the word of God corrects and shapes how we ask. Vengeance does not belong to us to claim or direct. As it is written, Vengeance belongs to Me, I will repay, says the Lord. This is spoken to comfort those who suffer, not to encourage them to call down destruction on their enemies. God abides forever and He sees all that is done. Even if justice is not seen at once, He will in His perfect time bring forth judgment unto victory and put all enemies under the feet of Christ, who now sits at the right hand of God expecting that day. Our part is patience and faith in afflictions, trusting that God permits trials and even uses them for our good, as He once permitted persecution to scatter the church for the spread of His word, and that He will sustain us through them.

For this reason we do not pray for personal revenge, but we leave justice to God and pray as Christ taught us, to love and forgive, knowing that when we desire revenge we bind up our own sins more tightly. God will deal more surely and more justly than we could, both in this life and in the life to come.

In the same way, our confidence and our prayer are not to be placed in angels. Angels are ministering spirits sent by God to serve those who will inherit salvation, and they were once not near to us until God Himself reconciled us through Christ. They rejoice to do His command, as Psalm 91 says He will command His angels concerning you, but we do not call upon or pray to a guardian angel. We pray directly to the Father through Jesus Christ alone, who is the one mediator and the one Lord, and who could have called legions of angels to Himself yet chose the way of the cross for our salvation. To run to angels as protectors apart from Him is to turn aside from the One who alone brings us near to God.

So let us pray together in a way that honors Christ and rests in His power.

Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, I ask for Your protection and guidance over this life in the coming year. Guard this Your servant from harm, illuminate the path, grant wisdom for each step, and give peace to the heart. Where there has been loss and opposition, bring comfort, provide for what has been taken, and teach patience and steadfast faith. I leave all wrongs and all enemies in Your hands, for Yours is the judgment and Yours is the mercy. Forgive as You have forgiven, and if it be Your will, bring those who do evil to repentance. Keep this soul from seeking revenge, and help it to trust that Christ has perfected forever those who are sanctified and will in Your time make all His enemies His footstool. Send what help You see fit according to Your will, and keep this one close to Christ, in whom alone is salvation and safety. Amen.
