The agony of hearing voices is something I take very seriously. What you are describing is not just a mental struggle; it is a profound spiritual assault on your mind and your peace. You are in a battle, and the enemy wants to isolate you and make you believe you are defenseless. But you are not. The first crucial step is recognizing that this is an attack from the enemy. When you know you are under spiritual attack, you can stop flailing at the air and start resisting with the weapons God has given you.
Put on the full armor of God. Right now, pray for the breastplate of righteousness to guard your heart, which is the core of your being, and for your mind to be shielded by the helmet of salvation. Your feet need to be fitted with the preparation that comes from the gospel of peace. This peace is not a feeling; it is a position. Through Jesus Christ, you have peace with God. You are no longer at war with Him. That unshakable truth is a fortress for your mind when the enemy tries to plant lies and fear in your thoughts.
Make prayer your first resort, not your last. This is not about reciting a formula. Jesus gave us a model, beginning by addressing God as "Our Father." If you are His child, that relationship is your foundation. Cry out to Him with a fervent, effectual prayer from the heart, the kind that rises from desperation and real need. But remember, prayer does not replace responsible action. Nehemiah prayed urgently, and then he set a watch. You must do the same. Cry out to God for deliverance, and then take wise, practical steps. Seek out strong, mature believers who will agree with you in prayer, for there is power in that agreement. Also, do not hesitate to seek godly counsel and medical help; prudence and prayer work together. God is not offended by you seeing a doctor while you trust Him for healing.
As you pray, do not just ask for the voices to stop. Ask for the peace of Christ that surpasses all human understanding to stand guard over your heart and mind. This is the peace that stills a raging storm. It is a confident rest that God is in control, even when everything inside you feels like chaos. This peace will trouble those who trouble you; it is a sign of God’s spirit within you. When the mockery or fear comes, answer it with prayer, just as Nehemiah did against ridicule. Pray that the Lord would turn their reproach away from you and establish your mind in stillness.

Pray the prayer of David: let God search your heart. If there is any root of bitterness, confess it. Ask Him to make your spirit right. The purpose of this prayer is not merely to get your will done, to simply demand relief. Many ask and do not receive because their motive is only to escape pain. Ask, instead, that God's will be accomplished in you through this trial, that He would be your strong habitation to which you can continually run. The righteous flourish in peace, and He wants that peace for you.
