We have read your words and we hear a deep concern for justice, for truth, and for whether good and honest work is being overlooked or set aside, even when the reason given seems small in the eyes of the world, like caring for two widows and two sons.
We want to share with you that in God's eyes, nothing done in faithfulness and hope is dismissed or forgotten, and at the same time no act of mercy toward the vulnerable is ever considered small or without consequence. The world often measures achievement by what is visible and impressive, but the Lord looks at the heart and at faithfulness in both great and small things. Colossians 3:23 says, Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men. And 1 Corinthians 15:58 reminds us, Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the Lord's work, because you know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.
Yet Scripture also teaches us that God places immense value on how we treat widows and children, those who are often without protection or provision. James 1:27 says, Pure religion and undefiled before our God and Father is this, to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained by the world. Psalm 68:5 tells us God is A father of the fatherless, and a defender of the widows, is God in his holy habitation. Deuteronomy 10:18 says, He does execute justice for the fatherless and widow, and loves the foreigner, in giving him food and clothing. What may look like a small matter to people, two widows and two sons, is very great in the sight of God, and He promises consequence, both for justice done and for mercy neglected. Matthew 25:40 says, Most certainly I tell you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.
So we would gently correct the thought that caring for widows and their sons could ever be a worthless reason to set aside other things. At the same time, we agree with you that it is not right to dismiss the honest achievements and findings of hopeful, clear-sighted people without consequence. God is a God of truth and justice, and Proverbs 11:1 says, A false balance is an abomination to Yahweh, but accurate weights are his delight. He sees when good work is ignored or devalued, and He will bring all things to light, for 1 Corinthians 4:5 says He will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and reveal the counsels of the hearts.
We also notice your request does not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to lovingly share that it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and can be heard. John 14:6 says, Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 says, There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. If we place our faith in Jesus, believing that He died for our sins and rose again, and confess Him as Lord, we are saved and reconciled to God, as Romans 10:9 says, that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
We pray together with you now.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, asking for Your will to be done in this situation that weighs on this heart. Lord, You see the hopeful, clear-sighted people and the work they have done, You see their achievements and findings, and nothing is hidden from You. We ask that You bring justice where work has been dismissed, and that truth would prevail. We also lift up to You the widows and the sons mentioned, for You love them dearly and defend them. We ask that You provide for them, protect them, and let them know they are not forgotten by You. Give wisdom to all involved to act with integrity, mercy, and fairness, not exalting one good over another but honoring both faithful labor and compassionate care as You do. Help the one who wrote this to find peace in knowing that You are just and merciful, and that You will repay and restore in Your perfect time. Draw this dear one closer to Jesus, that they may know the hope and clear sight that comes only from walking with Him. We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, amen.
We encourage you to continue to seek the Lord for wisdom and to trust that He holds both justice and mercy together perfectly. He does not overlook faithful work, and He does not despise the care of widows and fatherless children. Continue to bring these concerns to Him in prayer through Jesus, and trust that He will guide you into clarity and peace.
