Vision

Proverbs 29:18 says "Where there is no vision, the people perish:..." Please pray that I receive visions from God in Jesus' name, so that I don't just follow my own personal goals.


Heavenly Father, we thank you that you do not change like shifting shadows. You fulfil the visions you give us. Hallelujah!

It is written „Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

We join with you in this desire to seek God's vision rather than simply following personal goals, and we rejoice that you have asked in the mighty name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father.

We love your heart for Proverbs 29:18 which says Where there is no revelation, the people cast off restraint; but one who keeps the law is blessed. This reminds us that true vision is not merely our own ambition or imagination, but God's revealed will and His Word guiding us so we do not cast off restraint. You also rightly praise Him as the Father of lights with whom there is no variation, for as it is written Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom can be no variation, nor turning shadow. James 1:17. We thank God with you that He does not change like shifting shadows and that He is faithful to fulfill what He reveals.

We want to encourage you that God does still speak and lead His people, and He has promised It will be in the last days, says God, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh. Your sons and your daughters will prophesy. Your young men will see visions. Your old men will dream dreams. Acts 2:17. Yet we also gently remind you that every vision, dream, or impression must be tested against Scripture and be consistent with His Word, for His Word is a lamp to our feet and a light for our path. Psalm 119:105. We are told don't believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God. 1 John 4:1. God's primary vision for our lives is revealed in Scripture, and His Spirit will never contradict what He has already spoken. Therefore we encourage you to seek vision not by chasing experiences, but by abiding in Christ, dwelling richly in the Word, and praying with a surrendered heart.

We also hear your prayer that you do not want to follow only your own personal goals. That is a godly desire, for it is written Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don't lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6. And we cling to His promise For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11.

Let us pray together.

Heavenly Father, we come before Your throne in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son. We thank You that You are the Father of lights who gives every good and perfect gift and that You do not change. We thank You for our brother or sister who longs for Your vision and not their own way. Father, we ask that You pour out Your Spirit upon them and grant them clear revelation of Your will according to Your Word. Give them eyes to see and ears to hear what Your Spirit is saying, and guard them from deception or from following mere personal ambition. Help them to delight in Your law and to walk in obedience, so that their path is made straight. Fulfill in their life the vision that is truly from You, for Your glory and for their good. Teach them to wait patiently, to test all things, and to hold fast to what is good, trusting that You who began a good work will be faithful to complete it. We ask this in the mighty and powerful name of Jesus, amen.

We encourage you to continue to seek Him daily in prayer and in the Scriptures, to wait quietly before Him, to seek counsel from mature believers, and to be faithful in the small things He has already shown you. As you acknowledge Him in all your ways, He will make your paths straight and He will make His vision plain to you in His perfect timing.

We hear how much you want to walk in step with God rather than just chasing your own plans. That longing to be led by Him is itself something we thank God for in you.

We have found that the kind of vision God gives is less about a sudden dramatic picture and more about a growing clarity of His calling that shapes how we live day by day. It gives an appetite for what matters to Him and steadies our choices when personal goals pull another way. He is a God who loves to communicate and to guide, often not all at once but as we stay close to Him and keep listening.

One simple practice that may help is to keep a quiet, unhurried time to seek Him, jot down what you sense He is putting on your heart, and then bring those thoughts to Scripture and to a trusted pastor or mature believer to weigh together. Staying faithful in the responsibilities already before you is often where that clarity grows.

Father, we lift our friend to You. Draw them close and make Your leading clear in Your way and timing. Guard them from striving and give them peace as they trust You to direct their steps. Help them to hear Your voice and to follow You with joy. In Jesus' name, amen.

Prayer Focus: God, Thank You for loving me. Thank You for loving me, Jesus. God, I ask You in Jesus’ name please bless me with everything that I stand in need of and everything You want me to have. God bless me to prosper, walk in excellent health, and never stop growing in the love, grace, wisdom, and knowledge of Christ Jesus. God bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, mind, soul, body, and strength and never fall out of love with You. God, bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, Your righteousness, and to always respect and obey You. Bless me to know You, the way You want me to know You. So that I will trust You with my life and anyway that You move in my life. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, lean not to my own understanding, acknowledge You in all my ways, and allow You to direct my footsteps and actions. Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.

God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God-conscious-solution-focused-heart-mind-spirit-and-attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. God, all that I have asked of You, in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of the prayer, all those who love and care about me, and all those I love and care about. It is a right and gracious desire you have expressed, to be led by the Lord and not by your own personal goals. Where there is no vision the people perish, and that vision is not the mere invention of our own hearts, but the revealed mind and will of God made plain to us by His Word and by His Spirit.

You do well to remember that every good gift and every perfect gift is from above and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. He does not change like shifting shadows, and the visions He gives He will fulfil. His will is the axle of the universe, and He is carrying out still His one great purpose, working all things after the counsel of His own will. Nothing cometh by chance to those who are His, but everything cometh according to the purpose of His own great mind.

Therefore seek that vision where it is surely to be found. There is a revealed will which we must not violate, and it is set forth plainly in Scripture. Nine times out of ten, if you look to the Word you will at least know what you must not do, and knowing what you must not do you will be able to conclude what you may do. There is also a providential will of God which we should always consult, seen in the circumstances that surround us and the doors He opens or shuts. True guidance is found not by following the fancies of our own hearts, but by bowing with submission to the will of God, saying from the heart, I will go or I will stay, I will do this or that, if the Lord wills. When you live near to God, He will say things to you that He will not tell to others, for He guides with His eye those who wait upon Him.

Let us pray together.

Heavenly Father, we thank You that You are unchanging and that Your purpose cannot be frustrated. We ask that You grant to this Your servant not a restless seeking after novelty, but a clear sight of Christ and of Your revealed will. Open the eyes to understand Your Word, give light to the path through Your providence, and grant a heart fully yielded to Your sovereign sway. Let every personal goal be laid down before Your throne, and let Your will be done in this life as it is in heaven. Guide with counsel here, and afterward receive to glory, for Jesus sake. Amen.
