Visa expiration

Disciple of Prayer
I'm not able to graduate, my professors are not letting me graduate... my visa is expiring... I don't know what to do next.... please please pray for ###.

We hear your distress and stand with you in this challenging season, lifting your situation before the Lord with hearts full of compassion and faith. The weight of uncertainty—especially regarding your visa, graduation, and future—can feel overwhelming, but we serve a God who sees every detail and holds your future in His hands. Let us turn to Scripture for comfort and direction:

*"Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you. He will never allow the righteous to be moved."* (Psalm 55:22 WEB)

First, we must address the foundation of our hope. If you have not yet placed your trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so now. Salvation is found in no one else, for *"there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* (Acts 4:12 WEB). Confess your sins, believe in His death and resurrection, and surrender your life to Him. This is the first and most critical step, for it is only through Christ that we have access to the Father and the assurance of His guidance.

Now, let us pray for your situation:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this dear one who is facing uncertainty and fear. Lord, You are the God who parts seas, makes ways in the wilderness, and turns impossibilities into testimonies. We ask that You intervene in this visa situation and the challenges with graduation. Soften the hearts of the professors and administrators involved, and grant wisdom to those making decisions. Provide clarity, favor, and a path forward that aligns with Your perfect will.

Father, we rebuke the spirit of fear and anxiety that seeks to paralyze. Your Word says, *"For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control."* (2 Timothy 1:7 WEB). Fill this child of Yours with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, guarding their heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Give them the strength to persevere, the wisdom to seek godly counsel, and the faith to trust in Your timing.

Lord, if there are any areas where this situation has been mishandled—whether through procrastination, lack of communication, or other mistakes—we ask for Your grace to cover and Your mercy to restore. Help them to take responsibility where needed and to move forward with humility and diligence. Provide for every practical need, whether it be legal advice, financial provision, or emotional support. Surround them with godly mentors, friends, and resources to navigate this season.

We also pray for their spiritual walk during this time. May this trial draw them closer to You, deepening their dependence on Your promises. Remind them that *"those who seek the Lord shall not lack any good thing"* (Psalm 34:10 WEB). Even if the outcome is not what they hope for, let them trust that You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28).

Father, we declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we stand in agreement for a breakthrough. Whether You open doors for them to stay, return home with dignity, or redirect them to a new opportunity, let Your will be done. May they walk in faith, not by sight, knowing that You are their provider, protector, and guide.

In Jesus’ precious name, we pray. Amen.

Now, let us offer some practical and biblical encouragement. First, seek wise counsel from your school’s international student office, a trusted immigration attorney, or a godly mentor who can help you navigate the legal and academic steps. Proverbs 15:22 says, *"Where there is no counsel, plans fail; but in a multitude of counselors they are established."* Do not try to handle this alone—reach out to those who can help.

Second, examine your heart and actions. Have you fulfilled all the requirements for graduation? If not, ask the Lord for the discipline and resources to complete them. If you have, approach your professors and administrators with humility, respect, and a willingness to listen. Proverbs 15:1 reminds us, *"A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger."* Even if you feel frustrated, respond with grace.

Third, prepare for all possible outcomes. If your visa cannot be extended, trust that God has a plan for you—whether it’s returning home to serve Him there or redirecting you to another opportunity. Jeremiah 29:11 assures us, *"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,” says the Lord, “thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future."* Hold onto this promise.

Lastly, guard your heart against bitterness or despair. This trial is temporary, but your faith in Christ is eternal. Keep your eyes fixed on Him, and remember that *"weeping may stay for the night, but joy comes in the morning"* (Psalm 30:5 WEB). God is with you, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). Trust in Him, and He will direct your paths (Proverbs 3:5-6).

We're right here with you, friend, standing in the gap and lifting your situation up to the Lord. We know the uncertainty you're facing can feel overwhelming, but remember, God sees every detail and holds your future in His capable hands. Let's turn to Philippians 4:6-7 for comfort and guidance: "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

First, let's ask for God's peace to fill you, calming any fears or anxieties. Trust that God is in control, and He's working everything out for your good. Let's pray for clarity in your situation, wisdom for those making decisions, and favor in your visa extension and graduation process.

We also ask for God's grace to cover any past mistakes and His mercy to guide you forward. Surround you with godly mentors, friends, and resources to navigate this season. And may this trial draw you closer to God, deepening your dependence on Him.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Now, let's encourage you to seek wise counsel from your school's international student office, a trusted immigration attorney, or a godly mentor. Proverbs 11:14 tells us, "For lack of guidance a nation falls, but victory is won through many advisers." Don't try to handle this alone; reach out to those who can help.

Next, examine your heart and actions. Have you fulfilled all requirements for graduation? If not, ask God for discipline and resources to complete them. Approach your professors and administrators with humility, respect, and a willingness to listen. Proverbs 15:1 reminds us, "A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger."

Lastly, prepare for all possible outcomes. If your visa can't be extended, trust that God has a plan for you – whether it's returning home to serve Him there or redirecting you to another opportunity. Jeremiah 29:11 assures us, "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, and remember that this trial is temporary, but your faith in Him is eternal. God is with you, and He will never leave you or forsake you. Trust in Him, and He will direct your paths.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
