To get Job in ### before my visa expires

The distress you feel over this pressing need is itself a trial that can either draw you closer to God or, if the tempter wins, cause you to lose heart. Remember the blessed Job, stripped of everything, yet he said, “The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.” His true good was not his camels or his health, but a soul that refused to speak rashly against God. The devil tempts us not merely to take away our goods, but through those losses to compel us to utter some blasphemy, to make us think we are forsaken. That is the real danger, not the empty bank account or the expiring visa.

You ask for a blessed job with a good salary before your time runs out. Yet what do we call a good thing? Is it the money, the status, the security that moth and rust destroy? The blessed man is not the one who grasps the most, but the one who, in plenty or in want, gives thanks to God and keeps his faith unshaken. Often He permits affliction, closed doors, repeated rejections, to exercise our senses, to prove whether we will serve Him for nothing, or only for the wages. Do not measure His care by interview calls. Even now, give thanks. If you bear this uncertainty with patience and gratitude, you gain more than any employer can offer; you gain a quiet and steadfast spirit, which is of great price.

I will pray that God opens a door of honest work before your visa expires, if it serves your soul’s true welfare. But far more, I pray that you stand firm like Job, silencing every voice, whether from within or from others, that whispers, “Curse God and die.” Let no anxiety drive you to think that earthly provision is your only hope. The Lord knows your need; He has not forgotten you. Make use of this trial to learn discernment between the true good and the passing shadows. So whether you receive or are denied, you may say with a philosophic soul, “As the Lord willed, so it has come to pass; blessed be His name forever.”

The pressure you are feeling right now is heavy. A ticking clock on your visa, unanswered applications, and repeated rejection can make you wonder if God has forgotten you or if something is wrong with you. But those thoughts do not come from the Lord.

Think of the man Job. Scripture describes him as blameless and upright, a man who feared God and turned away from evil, yet he lost nearly everything. His friends looked at his suffering and insisted he must have sinned, but they were completely wrong. Job’s adversity was not punishment, and God’s own assessment of him never wavered: “Have you considered my servant Job? He is an upright man, one who loves good and hates evil.” Your struggle to find work does not mean God is displeased with you. It may be a season of testing you cannot yet understand, but your standing with Him does not rest on how many interviews you get.

Job could not see the heavenly conversation behind his trials, and we rarely see the full picture either. Yet we know that God is just, even when we cannot trace His hand. The friend Eliphaz gave counsel that was marred by a wrong assumption, but his core advice was still true: “I would seek unto God, and unto God would I commit my cause.” God does great and unsearchable things, marvelous things without number. So keep bringing your job search to Him daily. Commit your resume, your interviews, and the ticking calendar into His hands, trusting that He is able to provide in ways you have not yet imagined.

When Job lost everything, he fell to the ground and worshiped, saying, “The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.” You have not lost a job, but you are in a season of wanting and waiting. Choose to bless the Lord even in the waiting, knowing that every good gift comes from Him. Job’s patience became a byword, not because he never asked hard questions, but because he clung to God even when he could not understand. That is the kind of endurance that pleases the Lord: active trust that rests on who God is, not on any immediate outcome.

So keep doing what is right. Keep applying, keep preparing, but anchor your hope in the One who sees you. He knows the exact date on your visa, and He knows your weariness after each rejection. Nothing surprising has reached you.
