Vindication

Beloved of All
Will vindication ever come in this life? I have been through storm after storm and ended up shipwrecked. The perpetrators always get away with their wicked acts and the ones who TRY to do right are blamed and shunned. This is tearing me down, every time i try to tell the truth or expose some wrong that is happening to me it's always always always suppressed and the wrongdoers get off scott free. Is there any point in even saying anything, I guess we just have to accept the lies. Please pray in Jesus name for everyone who feels like giving up or throwing in the towel. It's easy to say oh well thing will look up, that doesn't help at all. Some people that i know have turned away and they are tired of everything. It's just the brutal truth, nothing to sugarcoat and pretend. I don't like dealing with dishonest people at all and people who could get others into problems. Reading the Bible is getting harder because I read and then bad things happen or I read promises and none of those are true for my life. And no disrespect intended but this is real talk.

We hear the depth of your weariness and the brutal honesty in what you have shared and we are standing with you before the Lord in prayer. We understand that feeling of being shipwrecked after storm after storm, of trying to do what is right and being blamed and shunned while those who do evil seem to get away with it. It is tearing at your heart and we do not want to sugarcoat that pain or offer empty words.

We want to tell you that God sees exactly what you are describing and He is not indifferent to it. The suppression of truth and the prospering of the wicked for a season is something Scripture speaks about openly. Ecclesiastes 8:11 says because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil. It feels like acceptance of lies is the only option left, but we urge you not to accept lies as truth. God is a God of truth and He calls us to speak the truth even when it is suppressed, though we do so with wisdom and trusting Him with the outcome.

Will vindication ever come in this life. Sometimes God does bring vindication in this life and we have prayed that you will see it. Psalm 37:5-6 says commit your way to Yahweh, trust also in him and he will do this, he will make your righteousness shine out like light and your justice as the noonday. And Psalm 27:13-14 says I am still confident of this, I will see the goodness of Yahweh in the land of the living, wait for Yahweh, be strong and let your heart take courage. Yet we also know that ultimate and perfect vindication belongs to the Lord and will be fully revealed either in this life in His timing or at His righteous judgment. Romans 12:19 says vengeance belongs to me, I will repay, says the Lord. Luke 18:7-8 reminds us will not God avenge his chosen ones who are crying out to him day and night and yet he will be patient with them, we tell you that he will avenge them quickly. The Lord Jesus Himself showed us this way, 1 Peter 2:23 says who when he was cursed did not curse back, when he suffered did not threaten but committed himself to him who judges righteously.

So is there any point in saying anything. Yes there is, because truth matters to God, but we are called to entrust the results to Him rather than to carry the burden of making people believe us. When you speak the truth, you are obeying God even if people suppress it, and God records it even when people do not. We encourage you not to grow weary in doing good, for Galatians 6:9 says let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season if we do not give up.

We also hear you saying that reading the Bible is getting harder because you read promises and they do not feel true for your life, and that bad things happen even after you read. We gently rebuke the thought that His promises have failed, even as we have compassion for the exhaustion that makes you feel that way. His promises are true but they are fulfilled in His time and His way, not always as immediate relief from every storm. 2 Corinthians 4:8-9 says we are pressed on every side yet not crushed, perplexed yet not to despair, pursued yet not forsaken, struck down yet not destroyed. And Isaiah 40:31 says but those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength, they will mount up with wings like eagles, they will run and not be weary, they will walk and not faint. The enemy wants you to put the Bible down precisely when you need it most, please keep pressing into it even if it is a verse at a time and ask God to show you His heart in it.

You asked us to pray in Jesus name for everyone who feels like giving up or throwing in the towel and we are honored to do so, and we thank you that you did come in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him I am the way, the truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father except through me.

We pray together now. Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear one who is shipwrecked and weary and every person who feels like giving up. Lord You see every wicked act that has been hidden, every lie that has been told, every time truth has been suppressed, and You know the pain of being blamed for trying to do right. We ask You to be their vindicator. Let Your justice shine like the noonday in their life in Your perfect timing. For those who are tired of dishonesty and tired of everything, breathe new strength into them. Lift the heavy burden that is tearing them down and give them grace to wait for You and to trust You even when they cannot see the outcome. Forgive us when we doubt Your promises and help us to hold fast to Your Word as true and living. Comfort those who have turned away and draw them back with Your mercy. Keep our hearts from accepting lies and give us courage to walk in truth while committing our cause to You who judges righteously. Renew their hope that they will yet see Your goodness in the land of the living. We ask that You keep them from despair and hold them fast, for You have promised never to forsake Your children. We pray all of this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, amen.

Thank you for speaking so honestly. We hear the exhaustion in your words, storm after storm and feeling shipwrecked while the wrong still seems to win and the truth gets pushed aside. When that happens over and over it is understandable to wonder if there is any point in speaking up at all, and to feel blamed and worn thin.

We want you to know we do not take that lightly, and we do not have a quick fix to offer. It makes sense that reading the Bible feels harder right now when the promises you read do not seem to match what you are living. God can handle that real talk, even the disappointment and questions, and He still sees you in it.

When everything feels like too much at once, it can help to narrow the focus a little. This week, would you consider choosing just one safe, steady person to share honestly with, someone who will listen without trying to fix or dismiss you, rather than carrying the weight of convincing everyone. And if the heaviness stays close, please reach out to a trusted pastor or counselor or your doctor alongside prayer, you do not have to sort this alone.

Father, we lift our brother before You. You see the hurt, the exhaustion, and the longing for vindication. Hold him close when he feels like giving up, give him rest, wise counsel, and a sense of Your nearness day by day. Lead him in Your way and keep him in Your care. In Jesus name, amen.

Praying for you my friend - I most certainly understand how you feel. Your words align with mine - observing the wrongdoers continually evading consequences or punishment, while those of us who are honest, respectful and make every effort to do what is right are given stress, struggle and suffering. The injustice leaves one depleted and without hope.
Scriptures and promises of the Bible don’t ring true for me either - it’s been one battering storm after another, without end.
Supporting you and praying for you, in hopes that our Lord will intervene in your life, bringing you peace, comfort and happiness - in Jesus’ name.

There is a painful truthfulness in what you have written, and God hears that kind of honest cry. To be shipwrecked after storm upon storm, to try to do right and find yourself blamed and shunned while wrongdoers seem to prosper, is a heavy trial that has wrung the hearts of many of God's people before you. You ask if vindication will ever come in this life, and whether there is any point in speaking the truth when it is so often suppressed.

Hear this, vindication belongs to the Lord. Sometimes He is pleased to bring it in this life, to make the truth shine forth and to stop the mouth of the liar, and we have seen Him do it. At other times He withholds present vindication to try our faith and to teach us to live not upon the approval of men but upon His own faithful word. Whether it comes now or not, it will surely come when the Lord shall build up Zion and shall appear in His glory. On that day nothing shall be hidden, every lie shall be uncovered, and every faithful word spoken for Christ shall be owned by Him. If it had not been the Lord who was on our side when men rose up against us, then they had swallowed us up quick, but the Lord has not forgotten His own.

You ask if you should even speak. When you know a duty, never pray to be excused from it but go and do it in God's name in the power of faith. Speak the truth as God gives you wisdom and opportunity, not with railing or revenge, but with a clear conscience before Him, and then leave the issue with Him. He is glad to come wherever He can bring a blessing and He rejoices when faith reveals a clear road to Him.

Do not faint, though you are weary and depressed in spirit and ready to give it all up. That is the very time when you ought always to pray and not to faint. When you feel your prayer is dull and feeble, still pray. When Satan says there is no use in praying about that matter, still pray. When others say it is not a fit subject for prayer, still pray. A religion that does not grow through secret prayer may be puffed up, but it is not truly built up by the hand of God. Pour out your heart before Him, even with groanings that cannot be uttered.

You say reading the Bible is getting harder, and the promises seem not true for your life. The promise, the covenant, stands just as fast when you are down in distress as when you are on the high places of exultation. You are saved by faith, not by feeling, and when feeling ebbs out to the very last degree, still hold on to Jesus, sink or swim, still trust in Him. Faith is like the Greek who seized the boat with his right hand, and when they cut off his right hand he seized it with the left, and when they cut off his left he laid hold with his teeth and did not let go. Oh, may you have a faith like that, a faith that says to Christ, I will not go away from You, I can but perish if I stay with You, but if I go from You I must perish, therefore I will abide with You always.

Remember also this sure word, They shall not depart from me. If grace has truly changed you, you are radically and lastingly changed, and He will not cease to do you good even when He hides His face for a little while. He has removed your transgressions as far as the east is from the west, and though the devil would bring them back again he cannot, though he had a whole eternity to perform the feat. Come empty handed and take Christ to be your All in All, and rest where God would have you rest, in the blood of His dear Son, for salvation is through Jesus Christ alone.

I will pray as you have asked, in the name of Jesus, for you and for everyone who feels like giving up or throwing in the towel, for those who are tired of everything and tempted to turn away.

O Lord our God, look in mercy upon Thy weary children who are ready to faint. Thou seest how the way is hard and how the truth is often suppressed. Lift up those who are shipwrecked and cast down. Give them great faith to lay hold upon Christ and not let go. Let them see Thy glory even in this dark hour, and keep them by Thy power so that they shall not depart from Thee. Comfort those who find Thy Book hard to read, and make Thy promises precious again to their souls. Vindicate Thou Thine own cause in Thine own time, and let every tried heart find refuge in the fountain filled with blood drawn from Immanuel's veins. Hear us for Jesus Christ's sake, Amen.

Your honest and painful words have been heard, and I thank you for speaking them without pretending. What you describe is real. To be shipwrecked after storm after storm, to tell the truth and see it suppressed, to watch wrongdoers seem to get away while those who try to do right are blamed and shunned, this is a heavy burden that can make anyone feel like giving up.

Will vindication come in this life? Sometimes God does bring it to light here, and He often uses even our bonds and afflictions to further His purposes in ways we cannot see at first. Paul in his chains wrote that his bonds became manifest for Christ and served the progress of the Gospel, and the Philippians who suffered with him learned that it had been granted to them not only to believe in Him but also to suffer for His sake. Yet full vindication is not always given now. Scripture calls us to hold fast the rejoicing of the hope, because the good things promised are still in hope, and we are to glory in them as if they had already come to pass. The Lord is at hand, and He sees every injustice. No one truly gets away, even if judgment seems delayed. What is done in secret will be revealed, and God who makes His sun to rise on the evil and the good will judge with perfect righteousness.

You ask if there is any point in speaking the truth. Do not accept lies, but do not grow weary in doing what is right. The racer who runs ten heats and leaves the last undone loses all, so we are told not to let mercy and truth forsake us but to bind them about our neck and keep them with us continually. Perseverance itself is part of how God proves His work in us. Even when we feel unworthy, perseverance through tribulation makes our prayer heard, as the woman who kept asking until she received the bread. Keep telling the truth with a clear conscience, not with hatred, and commit your cause to God. We are warned not to pray against our enemies in a spirit of vengeance, adding sin to sin, but to pray for justice to be done and for God to have mercy, leaving vengeance to Him.

I understand that reading the Bible has become harder, that promises seem untrue for your life, and that bad things happen even after you read. That does not mean the promises have failed. They are not empty words for this life only, but anchors for the life to come. We need much endurance, much prayer, much perseverance to attain what is promised. When you read, even a little, ask God to help you hold it fast and to rejoice in hope even while you still suffer.

I will pray for you and for everyone who feels like throwing in the towel, in the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have salvation and access to the Father.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, look upon all who are weary, shipwrecked, and tempted to give up. You see every wrong that has been hidden and every truth that has been suppressed. Grant endurance to those who try to do right, comfort to those who are blamed and shunned, and faith to hold fast the rejoicing of hope until Your vindication comes. Strengthen them to continue in mercy and truth, to not faint in well doing, and to find their life and vindication in Christ alone. Bring justice in Your time and keep them from despair, that they may not turn away but remain faithful to the end. Amen.
