prayers for justice and vindication for my kids and myself

We stand with you in this heavy burden and we lift you and your children before the throne of grace together in Jesus' name, even when the story is too horrible to put into words. God sees what has been hidden and He hears the cries that you cannot fully speak aloud. He is not distant from your pain and He is a defender of those who are vulnerable and oppressed.

We take comfort that the Lord is a God of perfect justice and mercy. For the Lord loves justice, and doesn’t forsake his saints. They are preserved forever Psalm 37:28. He is a Father of the fatherless, and a defender of the widows, is God in his holy habitation Psalm 68:5. You who hear the desire of the humble, you will prepare their heart. You will cause your ear to hear, to judge the fatherless and the oppressed, that man who is of the earth may terrify no more Psalm 10:17-18. The Lord also will be a high tower for the oppressed, a high tower in times of trouble Psalm 9:9. We know that earthly justice can fail, but His justice never fails, for all his ways are justice, a God of faithfulness and without iniquity, just and right is he Deuteronomy 32:4.

We pray together for you and your children now.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and we lift this dear parent and these precious children to You. Lord, You know every detail of what has happened, every wound and every injustice, even what is too painful to speak. We ask for Your divine justice and vindication to be made manifest. Let the truth be revealed and let what has been done in darkness be brought into the light. We ask that You would vindicate this family and restore what the enemy has tried to steal. Heal their hearts, for You are near to those who have a broken heart, and save those who have a crushed spirit Psalm 34:18. We ask for Your protection over these children, cover them under Your wings, and let no further harm come near them. Give this parent wisdom, strength, and peace as they seek to protect and care for their family. Lead them to godly counsel, to trustworthy help, and to the proper authorities who can act justly on their behalf. For we know that You have established authorities for justice, and we pray that those in authority would act righteously and diligently. We also cast all our worries on You, because You care for us 1 Peter 5:7. Comfort them, Lord, and let them feel Your presence day and night. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to continue to trust the Lord to be your vindicator while also taking wise and lawful steps toward justice. Scripture reminds us, Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me, I will repay, says the Lord Romans 12:19. This does not mean we remain passive when wrong has been done, but that we entrust the ultimate repayment to God and pursue rightful justice through the means He has provided, without harboring bitterness or seeking personal revenge. Will not God avenge his chosen ones who are crying out to him day and night, and yet he exercises patience with them? We tell you that he will avenge them quickly Luke 18:7-8. Therefore Yahweh will wait, that he may be gracious to you and therefore he will be exalted, that he may have mercy on you, for Yahweh is a God of justice. Blessed are all those who wait for him Isaiah 30:18.

We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to lovingly share why His name is so essential. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only through Him that we are saved. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved Romans 10:9. We have prayed for you in His name because He alone is our mediator, our healer, and our just judge, and we encourage you to place your full trust in Him for both justice in this life and eternal hope.

We will continue to hold you and your children in prayer, asking God to bring forth justice, to vindicate you openly, to heal every hidden wound, and to let His peace which surpasses all understanding guard your hearts. Keep crying out to Him day and night, for He hears and He will act in His perfect time and way.

We hear how heavy this is for you and your children, and we are honoring that you shared what you could. You don't have to find words for the whole story for God to understand it or for us to pray with you. He sees what has happened and He cares deeply about you and your kids.

Wanting justice and vindication when you have been hurt is a right and human longing, especially as a parent. We are asking God to bring what is true into the light in His way and His timing, and to guard your hearts while you wait. We know waiting for that can feel lonely and exhausting, so we are also praying for daily strength, safety, and peace for your home.

You don't have to carry this alone. If you haven't already, it can help to have one safe, trusted person walking with you - a pastor, a mature friend, or a counselor who can listen and help you think through next steps. If there are legal or safety matters involved in seeking justice, a trusted advocate or professional in your area can also give you clear guidance alongside prayer.

Father, we lift this parent and these children to You. You know every detail of what they have been through. We ask for Your protection over them, for wisdom for every decision they face, and for justice and truth to prevail according to Your will. Comfort them, steady them, and remind them they are not forgotten. Give them trusted help around them and hope for the days ahead. In Jesus' name, amen.

Lord Jesus please richly bless, protect and guide them. Please help them in accordance with your perfect will Father. Thank you and praise you. In your holy name I pray. Amen.

Your cry, though brief and too heavy for words, has been heard and we have carried it before the Lord. He who knows the secrets of all hearts knows the story you cannot yet speak, and not a tear of yours or of your little ones has fallen unnoticed by Him.

We pray that the God of unimpeachable justice, who will by no means clear the guilty and who has vindicated His own righteousness most gloriously at the cross, will manifest His justice on your behalf. Never did righteousness receive such vindication as when God, having assumed flesh, died for man the creature's sin, and there upon that cross more of the vindication of justice was seen than could be seen in all eternity beside. We do not ask for vengeance after the spirit of this world, but we ask that the Lord would do right, that He would defend the cause of the oppressed, and that He would bring to light what is hidden and set wrong things right in His own perfect time and way.

We pray also for healing for your wounded spirit. You speak as one with a broken heart, and we remember the promise that He healeth the broken in heart and bindeth up their wounds. Your bleeding spirit cries for consolation, and we point you to the great Physician who takes our sicknesses and infirmities upon Himself. The leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations, and this medicine is appointed for the very purpose of healing. It grows for the sick. Are you sick at heart, then it grows for you. Come just as you are to Him who drained the bitter cup Himself that you might be healed, for faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God, and pardon and healing are placed in happy conjunction.

And for your children we plead the gracious promise, I will pour my Spirit upon thy seed. Our children need the Spirit of God, and we are not to expect merely faint traces of grace but to look for great things according to His word. We pray that the Lord would pour His Spirit upon your seed, that He would keep them, heal them, and make them to know that they are the children of God, and that He would give you grace to bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord, teaching them His Word.

Let us pray together.

O Lord our God, Thou art just and righteous in all Thy ways. Thou hearest the cry of the afflicted and Thou hast promised to be a Father to the fatherless and a defender of those who have no helper. Look in mercy upon this wounded one and upon these dear children. If it be Thy will, bring forth justice and vindication according to Thy perfect righteousness, and give peace where there has been great trouble. Heal the broken heart and bind up every wound, and say to this soul, Thy sins are forgiven thee, that pardon and healing may be one in Christ Jesus. Pour Thy Spirit upon these children and keep them in Thy tender care. Turn this sorrow into a testimony of Thy goodness, that all may praise Thee for Thy wonderful works to the children of men. We ask this not because we are worthy, but for Jesus Christ's sake, who bore our griefs and carried our sorrows. Amen.

Be of good cheer and be driven out of yourself to Him who alone can carry you to the hospital of mercy. Wait upon Him in prayer, hear His Word, and trust that He who has begun a good work will perfect it until the day of Jesus Christ.
