We hear the depth of your pain and the urgency in your cry, and we join with you in bringing this great hurt before the Lord together in Jesus' name. We understand you have suffered greatly and you believe many others have as well, and your heart is longing for justice to be done without delay.

We want to gently share what Scripture teaches about asking and about justice, because God's Word says in 1 John 5:14 This is the boldness which we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us. And in Matthew 7:7 Ask, and it will be given you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and it will be opened for you. God does invite us to ask, but He answers according to His perfect will, His wisdom and His timing, not always as we in our pain might demand in the moment. His justice is perfect, while our anger, even when it comes from real wounding, can lead us away from His heart if we are not careful.

Scripture is very clear that vengeance belongs to the Lord and not to us. Romans 12:19 says Don't seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God's wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord. And Jesus calls us to a higher way even toward those who have harmed us in Matthew 5:44 But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you. This does not mean that wrongdoing should be ignored or that there should be no accountability. Psalm 103:6 says Yahweh executes righteous acts and justice for all who are oppressed. God is a just judge who sees all that is hidden and He will bring truth to light in His way. We must leave room for His righteous judgment rather than asking Him to act as an instrument of our own wrath.

We also hear your desire that this surgeon be exposed and prevented from harming others if he has truly caused harm. It is right to pray for truth to be revealed and for the protection of patients, and it is also right to pursue rightful and lawful means of accountability through proper medical authorities if there has been wrongdoing. We can pray for justice while also releasing bitterness to God, so that bitterness does not take root in our own hearts. Hebrews 12:15 warns us to watch lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you. Forgiveness in the biblical sense does not mean saying what happened was okay or that consequences should not follow, it means entrusting the judgment to God and freeing our own hearts from hatred.

We pray together now for you and for this situation.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we have access to You and by which we are saved, for Acts 4:12 says there is salvation in none other. Lord, You see the suffering of this dear one who is crying out to You, You know every detail of what has happened, every wound and every tear. Psalm 34:18 says Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit, and we ask You to draw near now with Your comfort and healing. Heal the brokenheartedness and the body, for Psalm 147:3 says He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds. Grant peace that surpasses understanding and guard this heart and mind in Christ Jesus.

Lord, we ask for Your perfect justice and truth to prevail. If wrong has been done by this surgeon, we pray that You would bring what is hidden into the light, that You would protect other patients from harm, and that You would move upon those in rightful authority to investigate with honesty and to act righteously. We pray that You would not allow injustice to continue, but we entrust the outcome to Your hands and not to vengeance. We also pray for this surgeon, that if there is sin or negligence or pride, You would bring conviction that leads to repentance, and that You would have mercy on his soul while also stopping any harm. We ask You to bring him to a place of truth before You.

Father, we pray that You would root out any spirit of revenge in our hearts and replace it with trust in You as the righteous Judge. Teach us to love and pray even for those who have hurt us, and help this dear one to release this burden to You and to walk in forgiveness as You have forgiven us. Let Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven, and let healing and justice flow according to Your perfect wisdom and timing. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, amen.

We encourage you to continue to bring your pain to the Lord honestly, to seek godly counsel and support, and if you believe medical wrongdoing has occurred, to also seek wise and proper channels for review so that truth can be established lawfully. Keep seeking the Lord and trusting that He hears you, that He loves you deeply, and that He will act justly and mercifully in His perfect time.

We hear how urgent and painful this feels for you, and we want you to know we are praying with you. When you trusted a surgeon with your body and were left with suffering, it makes sense that you would feel a deep ache for accountability and for others to be protected.

One thing we have walked with many people through is how that kind of hurt can turn into a heavy burden to carry. The anger and the desire to see someone pay can keep the wound feeling fresh every day, and over time it often wears down the one who was hurt more than anyone else. It does not mean what happened was okay, it just means your heart needs room to breathe and heal while God carries the work of justice in His own right way and timing.

It may help to take one steady next step alongside prayer. If you are still dealing with ongoing pain or effects from the surgery, please reach out to a trusted medical professional for care. And if you have concerns about the care you received, consider writing down what happened in simple, factual terms and sharing it with a trusted advocate, a family member or pastor, or a patient relations office who can help review it through the proper channels. You do not have to hold all of this alone.

Father, we lift this person to You right now. You see the hurt, the disappointment and the suffering that remains. We ask for healing, for wisdom for each next decision, for comfort and protection, and for Your justice and mercy to be at work. Give peace and clear guidance in the days ahead. In Jesus name, amen.

Your prayer has come before the Lord and before His people, and the pain and urgency within it are plain to hear. To have suffered at the hands of one who was trusted to heal, and to fear that others may suffer likewise, is a heavy burden, and it is right to bring that burden to God.

Scripture teaches us to cast our cares upon Him and to trust Him when fear presses hard upon the soul. As it has been said, where God begins a work He does not ask us to finish, He always completes His own work. When we can say we have taken our cause straight to the throne of God through the blood of Jesus Christ, we may rest that He has heard, and there can be no mistake about it. The call to you in this hour is to fear and yet to trust, to trust and not to fear, for the Lord is both just and merciful and His judgments are true.

It is needful also to remember what the Word declares, There is forgiveness with Thee. This is a divine forgiveness, surprising and complete, everlasting to all who come through Jesus Christ. If you have been trembling and shaking for fear and with a penitent heart desire mercy, that forgiveness is proclaimed to you now, without delay, through faith in Him who died, the Just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God. And as we have received such full and free forgiveness, we are taught to put away bitterness against our fellow men. One effect of the bitterness of the cross upon the soul that feels it is to take away all bitterness against others, and to make Christ very sweet.

This does not mean that wrong is to be ignored or that justice does not matter. The Lord loves righteousness and He will judge righteously. Vengeance belongs to Him, and He will repay. It is right to pray that truth be made known, that what is hidden be brought to light, that patients be protected, and that those in authority who are charged with oversight would act with wisdom and integrity. If wrong has been done, it is right to pursue lawful and orderly means to report it, so that a proper examination may take place. But we are not to ask the Lord to become the instrument of personal retribution, nor to dictate to Him the punishment or ruin of another. Rather we pray, Thy will be done, asking Him to do what is just, what is holy, and what will most display His glory and bring true good.

Therefore let us pray with you not for revenge, but for righteousness and mercy together.

We pray that the Lord would heal your body and quiet your spirit, and lift from you the weight of fear and distress. We pray that He would grant you peace through trusting in Christ as the sinner's Savior, and assurance that there is forgiveness with Him for all who come to Him by faith. We pray that if any wrongdoing has occurred, the Lord in His providence would cause truth to be clearly seen by those appointed to judge such matters, that patients would be kept safe, and that justice would be done according to His perfect wisdom. We pray also for the surgeon of whom you speak, that if there is sin or error, God would bring conviction that leads to repentance and, where needed, to a true turning to Christ, for there is forgiveness even for the chief of sinners through His blood. And we pray that the Lord would keep your heart from being consumed by bitterness, and instead fill it with that trust which casts out fear.

Continue to seek the Lord daily, to rest in His Word, and to walk in the orderly ways He has provided for truth to be established. He hears the cry of the afflicted, and He will not forsake those who trust in Him.
