We hear the deep pain and urgency in your request and we join with you in bringing this hurt before the Lord, asking for His justice and His healing to be made known. To be treated badly by one who was trusted with your care, and to feel that many others have also been harmed, is a heavy burden and it is right to seek truth and accountability.
We want to gently bring your heart before scripture as we pray together, because while God indeed loves justice and calls us to seek it, He also calls us to guard our own hearts from vengeance and bitterness. We read in Romans 12:19, Beloved, don’t avenge yourselves, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me, I will repay, says the Lord. And also in Romans 12:17, Don’t return evil for evil. The Lord is the righteous judge who sees all that is done in secret, and He has promised in Luke 8:17, For nothing is hidden that will not be revealed, nor anything secret that will not be known and come to light. In 1 Corinthians 4:5 we are reminded that the Lord will bring to light the hidden things of darkness and reveal the counsels of the hearts. We can trust Him to expose what needs to be exposed and to hold accountable those who should be held accountable, in His perfect way and timing, even when we long for it to be without delay.
We also hear your desire that this surgeon be punished and brought low, and we understand that cry comes from woundedness. Yet Jesus teaches us in Matthew 5:44, Love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you, and in this we are called to pray not only for justice but also that the one who has done wrong would be brought to conviction, repentance, and truth rather than merely destruction. God desires justice but also desires that none should perish but that all should come to repentance as taught in 2 Peter 3:9. We must leave the measure of punishment to the Lord and to the lawful authorities He has ordained, and ask Him to keep our hearts free from hatred so that we do not sin in our anger as warned in James 1:20, for the wrath of man doesn’t work the righteousness of God.
We also lift before the Lord your desire for financial restoration and compensation. It is right to pray for what is fair and just to be restored, and we ask the Lord to guide your solicitor to act with wisdom, integrity, and diligence. Proverbs 21:15 says, The execution of justice is joy to the righteous. And Psalm 103:6 reminds us, Yahweh executes righteous acts and justice for all who are oppressed. At the same time we encourage you to seek what is just and fair in the eyes of God rather than abundance for its own sake, trusting that the Lord knows what true restoration looks like and guarding against the love of money which scripture warns can take root in hurt. We pray for a just outcome, not out of greed, but out of a desire for truth to prevail.
We pray together now in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through His name that we have access to the Father as promised in John 14:6 and Acts 4:12.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and we lift this dear one to You who is carrying deep hurt and frustration from how they were treated. Lord, You see all that was done, You know the truth of what happened with this surgeon and with every patient, and nothing is hidden from Your sight. We ask that You would bring truth into the light, that what is right would be revealed, and that righteous justice would be done through the proper authorities and through the legal process. We pray that You would give great wisdom, clarity, and integrity to the solicitor, that You would guide every step of this case, and that You would fight for what is right according to Your perfect will. We ask that You would work in the heart of this surgeon, bringing conviction where there has been wrongdoing, leading him to acknowledge truth, take responsibility, and turn from any harmful ways. Lord, we also ask that You would heal the wounded heart of the one who has been hurt, remove bitterness and the weight of anger, and replace it with Your peace that surpasses all understanding as promised in Philippians 4:7. Teach us to wait on Your timing, for Your thoughts are higher than our thoughts as declared in Isaiah 55:8, and help us to trust that You will vindicate in Your perfect time as shown in Psalm 37:5, Commit your way to Yahweh. Trust also in him, and he will do this. He will make your righteousness shine out like light, and your justice as the noon day sun. We ask for fair and just restoration, and above all that Your name would be glorified and Your justice and mercy would both be seen. Grant comfort, strength, and hope in the days ahead, and let Your will be done in every part of this situation. In the name of Jesus Christ we pray, amen.
We encourage you to continue to commit this matter to the Lord in prayer, to cooperate fully and honestly with your solicitor, and to allow the legal process to pursue truth in an orderly way. Keep bringing your anxieties to God as taught in Philippians 4:6, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. Ask the Lord daily to keep your heart soft toward Him, to help you forgive as Christ has forgiven us as taught in Ephesians 4:32, not excusing wrong but releasing the right to vengeance into His hands. Trust that He is your defender who promises in Exodus 14:14, Yahweh will fight for you, and you shall be still. We are standing with you for truth to be revealed, for accountability where it is due, for healing for you and for all affected, and for God’s perfect justice and peace to prevail.
