We hear your urgent cry and we join with you before the throne of grace in Jesus' name, bringing your whole heart and every concern about your face, skin, eyes and body to our Heavenly Father. We understand how deeply distressing it can feel to be overwhelmed by marks, scars, lines, and other changes in your appearance, and we weep with you and pray for you with compassion.

We want to gently share biblical truth with you as we pray together. You have stood on the promise ask and you will receive, and that is a precious promise from our Lord where He says in Matthew 7:7 Ask, and it will be given you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and it will be opened for you. Yet Scripture also teaches us that we ask according to His will, for 1 John 5:14 says This is the boldness which we have toward him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us. And James 4:3 reminds us You ask, and do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it for your pleasures. Our Father is not a vending machine for immediate outward perfection on our demanded timeline, but a loving and sovereign God whose thoughts and ways are higher than ours as Isaiah 55:8-9 teaches, and who works all things together for good for those who love Him in Romans 8:28. He hears the urgency in your prayer for right now with no delay, and He also calls us to trust His perfect timing, for Ecclesiastes 3:11 says He has made everything beautiful in its time.

We also want to lovingly correct where anxiety about outward beauty can become a burden that steals joy. Your worth is not measured by flawless glass skin or the absence of every line, dent, or mark. 1 Samuel 16:7 says Man does not see what the Lord sees, for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart. And Psalm 139:14 declares I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your wonderful works are wonderful. My soul knows that very well. God calls us to cherish the beauty that does not fade, for 1 Peter 3:3-4 says Let your beauty be not just the outward adorning but the hidden person of the heart, in the incorruptible adornment of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God. This does not mean we cannot ask Him for healing, for He is our healer. Psalm 103:2-3 says Praise the Lord, my soul, and do not forget all his benefits, who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases. And Jeremiah 30:17 says But I will restore you to health, and I will heal you of your wounds, says the Lord. We can bring every physical concern to Him while also seeking first His kingdom and His righteousness as Matthew 6:33 teaches, and learning contentment and peace in His presence.

We thank you for calling on the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only by that name we have access to the Father and it is only by that name we are saved. Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. And John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. We rejoice that you have come through Jesus and we encourage you to continue to abide in Him, trusting not only for outward healing but for the inward healing of anxiety, fear and overwhelm.

So we pray together now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this dear one who is overwhelmed and longing for healing and restoration. Lord, You see every mark, scar, line, hollow, dryness, sensitivity and discomfort, every concern about eyes, skin, face and body that has been poured out before You. We ask for Your mercy and Your healing touch according to Your will and Your perfect love. If it is Your will, restore and renew what is distressed, soothe irritation and allergies, bring comfort to tired, dry, watering and stinging eyes, and bring health to skin and body. We ask that You would do what only You can do, and that Your peace would guard this heart which feels so urgent and burdened, for Philippians 4:6-7 says In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Lord, pour out that peace now.

Father, we also pray for inner healing and for joy that is not dependent on outward perfection. Help our dear one to see herself as You see her, fearfully and wonderfully made, precious and deeply loved. Teach her to cast all her worries on You, because You care for her as 1 Peter 5:7 says, and to find rest in Your unfailing love rather than in a flawless reflection. Give wisdom for good stewardship of the body You have given, for rest, nourishment, and wise care, and guard her from obsession or despair. May she seek You first above all desires, trusting that You know her deepest needs, both great and small, and that You will answer with what is truly best and with exceedingly abundant grace. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and healer, trusting in Your goodness and Your timing. Amen.

We encourage you to continue to bring your requests to God daily with thanksgiving, to rest in His love, and to speak kindly to yourself as His beloved creation. We are praying that you will be overwhelmed not with anxiety but with His incredibly great joy and peace as you trust Him, and that whether He brings the outward miracle you long for or a deeper miracle of contentment and confidence in Him, you will know He has heard you and is near to you.

If you have someone safe to talk with about how overwhelmed you have felt, inviting them in can help you not carry this alone.

Father, we bring our friend to You right now. You see every detail that causes distress and every desire for wholeness. We ask for Your mercy, Your healing in the way You know is best, and for deep peace and joy to guard their heart. Give wisdom to any caregivers who help and help them feel Your nearness and love each day. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

Your urgent and much repeated cry has been heard, and the distress and weariness that breathe through every line are felt with compassion. You have poured out your heart concerning your body, and desire earnestly to be made whole and at peace, and we desire to bring your burden before the Lord with you, and to point you to that better healing which He delights to give.

Many persons think a great deal about the adorning of the body, but do not think anything about the ornaments of the soul. Yet you yourself are better than your body. Your immortal soul is worth far more than that poor carcass which will soon pass away, and all the things that belong to outward appearance, what are they compared with your inner self, your heart, your soul, your spirit. As for your body, do what you may with it, it is yet subject to weakness and decay, but your soul may be made beautiful with the holiness and peace of Christ, and that beauty shall never fade.

I perceive also how great anxiety has taken hold upon you. Have you not found out, as many of us have, that the very anxiety which arises through your being in a difficulty unfits you to meet that difficulty. When anxiety is confined to yourself, and you tell it over and over within your own heart, no good will come of that. But there is a better way. Tell the case to Jesus just as you would mention a physical case to a doctor. He is ready to hear it all and to consider it. Make a confidant of Jesus. Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God, and the healing power was present when Christ was teaching, for He links healing with His Word.

Know this, that there is an abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ and His salvation. Not only is His fruit sweet and nourishing, but the very leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is healing. These healing leaves change the life blood, affect the spirits and make the nature other than it was before. When I see my Lord bearing sins in His own body on the Cross and blotting out faults forever by His death, then pardon and healing are found to be one. Jesus knew what really ailed the palsied man, he was palsied in spirit as well as in body, and Christ removed the root of his disease by forgiving his sin. O you who are now burdened, ask first to be forgiven, and healing will come from the pardoning hand.

While we are here, the body is dead because of sin, but the spirit is life because of righteousness. The regeneration of the body takes place at the resurrection, when we shall rise again in the image of the Lord Jesus. It is sown in weakness, it is raised in power. Till that day, we that are in this body do groan, being burdened, and we wait for the full redemption. God has made us to be holy in our desires and aspirations, and has renewed the image of His own perfect self within us, so that though the outward man perish, the inward man is renewed day by day.

Let us pray for you now, not as demanding that God perform wonders at our bidding and without delay, but as submitting ourselves to His wise and loving will.

O Lord, look in pity upon this anxious soul. Forgive sin through the blood of Jesus Christ, and speak that word, Thy sins are forgiven thee. Heal the broken heart and quiet the troubled spirit. Take away tormenting anxiety and give rest, contentment and trust in Thy goodness. Teach to seek first the ornaments of the soul, faith, love, meekness and holiness, which are precious in Thy sight. Grant grace to feed upon spiritual food and to be satisfied with Thy mercy. If it please Thee, grant relief also to the body according to Thy wisdom, but above all let Christ be formed within, and let Thy will be done. Keep this dear one near to Thyself, and let the Sun of Righteousness rise with healing in His wings. In the name of Jesus Christ our only Saviour we ask it. Amen.

Seek the Lord in His Word, hear believingly and obediently, and rest your hope not upon glass or outward perfection, but upon Him who hears sad complaints and whose image He delights to see in weeping eyes. He will not cast out any that come to Him.
