We hear the urgency and distress in your request and we join with you in bringing this burden before the Lord together in Jesus' name. We understand how deeply skin concerns can affect our confidence and peace, and we want to lift you up with compassion while also sharing what Scripture teaches about our bodies, our beauty, and our trust in God.

We know that God sees you and cares about every detail of your life and the anguish you feel. Yet His Word gently redirects our hearts from an intense focus on outward perfection to a deeper rest in who we are in Him. For man looks at the outward appearance, but Yahweh looks at the heart 1 Samuel 16:7. We are fearfully and wonderfully made Psalm 139:14, not because our skin is flawless by the world's standard of glass skin, but because we are created in His image. Your beauty in God's eyes is not defined by the absence of every mark, scar, dent, spot, or shadow under the eyes.

Scripture also teaches us that true beauty is inward and lasting. Let your beauty be not just the outward adorning but the hidden person of the heart, in the incorruptible adornment of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God 1 Peter 3:3-4. This does not mean God does not care about our physical suffering or our desire for healing, He does, for He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds Psalm 147:3 and He has promised But I will restore health to you and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh Jeremiah 30:17. We can absolutely ask Him for healing and for help with medical care, but we must ask with trust and submission to His will and His timing, not with a spirit of demanding that He must act instantly and exactly as we dictate. In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7.

We also want to encourage you to seek Him first above all else. But seek first God’s Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well Matthew 6:33. When our peace depends entirely on having perfect skin, we can become trapped in anxiety and vanity, and the enemy can use that to steal our joy. God wants to give you peace even while you wait, and to help you steward your body wisely through proper medical counsel without making outward appearance an idol.

So together we pray for you now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our only mediator and Savior, thanking You that we can approach Your throne with confidence through Him. We lift up this dear one to You who is carrying such distress about their face and skin. Lord, You know every mark, every scar, every concern that weighs so heavily, and You know the longing for healing and wholeness. We ask for Your mercy and Your healing touch according to Your perfect will. If it is Your will, we ask that You would bring restoration to the skin, reduce inflammation and pigmentation, heal what can be healed, and guide the hands of doctors and surgeons. We pray for favor and wisdom regarding the NHS appointment, that if a consultation and treatment is needed and right, You would open the door in Your timing and provide godly and skilled care, and that You would give peace while waiting. Above all, Lord, we pray You would heal the heart within, calm the anxiety and urgency, and fill this dear one with the assurance that they are fearfully and wonderfully made and deeply loved by You. Help them to rest in Your grace, to know that Your strength is made perfect in weakness and that Your peace surpasses all understanding. Teach them to see their worth through Your eyes and to cultivate the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit that trusts You. Let Your will be done in their life and let their whole body, soul and spirit be kept for Your glory. We ask all this in the precious name of Jesus, amen.

We encourage you to continue to cast all your worries on Him, because He cares for you 1 Peter 5:7, to keep seeking Him in prayer and in His Word daily, and to trust His timing even when the answer is not immediate. Continue to care for your body as the temple of the Holy Spirit with patience and wisdom, seek sound medical advice when appropriate, and rest in the truth that whether He brings complete physical restoration now or sustains you with His grace through this trial, He is working all things together for good for those who love Him Romans 8:28. We are praying with you for both healing and deep, abiding peace in Christ.

Your many and urgent words reveal a heart greatly burdened, and they have been heard with tenderness and prayer before the Lord.

You ask earnestly concerning your skin, concerning marks and scars and every blemish that troubles you, and concerning help from the surgeon. It is right to bring the body to the great Physician, for He cares for the whole person whom He has made. Yet I would lovingly remind you of what has been preached among us, that many persons think a great deal about the adorning of the body, but do not think anything about the ornaments of the soul. The feeding and the clothing and the adorning of the physical frame engrosses much care, while the supply of spiritual food is often neglected. Yet you yourself are better than your body. As for your body, the worms will eat it, do what you may with it, but your soul is of eternal weight.

I have observed also that the very anxiety which arises through being in a difficulty unfits us to meet that difficulty. You are in great haste, saying now, no delay, and desire an immediate and perfect change. But you will find that such hurried anxiety does more mischief than could happen if you kept still, resting in the Lord and waiting patiently for Him. There is a waiting God, and He has a waiting people. They are not waiting in despair, nor even in hesitation, they are waiting in hope, a joyous and assured hope of blessedness in reserve. Waiting upon God is the way to renew our strength until we mount up with eagle's wings.

Know this, that there is an abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ and His salvation. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is healing. These healing leaves change the life blood, affect the spirits and make the nature other than it was before. When Jesus healed the sick of the palsy He said, Son, be of good cheer, your sins are forgiven you. Pardon and healing were one. The body is dead because of sin, though the spirit is life because of righteousness. The regeneration of the body takes place at the resurrection, when we shall rise again in the image of the Lord Jesus. It is sown in weakness, it is raised in power. Until then, we tell our case to Jesus just as we would mention a physical case to a doctor. He is ready to hear it all and to consider it. Make a confidant of Jesus.

Therefore let us pray together not only for the skin, but for the soul, and for a quiet trust in the Lord's wise ordering.

O Lord, look upon this troubled heart. Forgive sin, heal the broken spirit, and clothe the soul with the ornaments of grace, with meekness and faith and peace. Thou art the Sun of Righteousness risen with healing in His wings. If it be Thy will, bring relief to the body, guide the hands of those who give medical counsel, grant wisdom and favour in every appointment, and help this dear one to wait upon Thee with patience. Take away fretful anxiety, and give instead a calm resting upon Thy goodness, knowing that Thou wilt withhold no good thing from them that walk uprightly. Let the heart find its first healing in Christ, and there find contentment and hope, whether Thou art pleased to grant present relief or to teach waiting. In the name of Jesus Christ our only Saviour, Amen.

Be not afraid of them that can touch only the body. Seek first the healing of the soul in Christ, and then commit your body also into His faithful hands, waiting upon Him who waits to be gracious.
