Beloved of All
Your urgent prayer has been heard and I bring it before the Lord with care and compassion. I understand how distressing it is to feel so troubled about your skin and to long for clear and healthy skin without any marks or pain, and how strongly you desire help without delay.
I pray for you now. Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, have mercy on this dear one who is anxious and weary. You know every detail of the body you have formed and you see the distress of the heart. I ask that you grant healing according to your wisdom and mercy, give peace to a troubled mind, and guide the hands of doctors and those who arrange care in the NHS. Grant favor for a timely appointment if it is your will, and give wisdom to all who provide treatment. Above all, comfort this heart with your presence and help to rest in your goodness.
I want to encourage you gently as you wait on the Lord. God does care for the body, and Christ showed his power when he touched and healed the sick, sometimes in an instant. Yet Scripture also teaches that his deepest care is for the soul, and that he often uses seasons of waiting and even bodily trials to bring healing and strength to the inner life. When the soul is troubled we may not feel it at first, but the Lord in his love calls us to look to him, so that through patience we may grow in hope.
That is why patience is so central to the Christian life. To love God is to endure with trust and not to be overcome by anxiety, even when his promises seem slow to us. Our diligence and our worry cannot add even a little to our lives by themselves, but the providence of God works all things for good for those who trust him. This does not mean your concern for your skin is wrong, but it means you do not need to be consumed by fear or by the constant stirring of thoughts about appearance. You are a member of the body of Christ, valued and loved not for flawless skin but because you belong to him.
So continue to pray, but pray also for what is most needful. Ask the Lord to make your whole person well, to guard you from sin and to give you a heart at peace, to teach you to wait with patience and hope nourished by his Word. If he grants complete healing of the skin quickly, give thanks. If he leads you through a slower path with the help of doctors and time, trust that he is still present and working for your good in both body and soul.
Do seek appropriate medical care as you are able, keep a simple and faithful routine of care for your body, and turn your anxiety into prayer whenever it rises. The Lord hears even a short and sincere cry, and he answers not always as we demand, but always as a wise and loving Father.
