We hear the deep anguish in your heart, sister, and we stand with you before the throne of grace, lifting this marriage before the Lord with urgency and fervent prayer. Your pain is real, and your cry for restoration is heard by our Heavenly Father, who hates divorce and cherishes covenant love (Malachi 2:16). We do not come declaring or decreeing as if we hold authority over God’s will, but we come pleading in the name of Jesus, who alone has the power to heal, restore, and redeem.
First, we must address the sin of adultery that has broken the sacred covenant between you and your husband. The Bible is clear: marriage is a holy union between one man and one woman, and any intimacy outside of that covenant is a violation of God’s design (Hebrews 13:4, Exodus 20:14). We rebuke the spirit of unfaithfulness and deception that has taken root in this marriage, and we command it to flee in the mighty name of Jesus. The enemy seeks to destroy what God has joined together, but we declare that no weapon formed against this marriage shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17).
We pray for your husband, that the Lord would convict his heart of sin and draw him to repentance. May the Holy Spirit open his eyes to the destruction his actions have caused, not only to you but to his own soul. "For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 6:23). We ask that God would break every ungodly soul tie, every emotional attachment, and every physical bond formed outside of your marriage. Let every photograph, message, and memory of these other women be exposed and erased, not by our words, but by the cleansing fire of the Holy Spirit. "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9).
Sister, we also lift you up before the Lord. The betrayal you are enduring is profound, and the pain is valid. But we encourage you to guard your heart (Proverbs 4:23) and resist the temptation to respond in bitterness or unforgiveness. The enemy would love to see this wound fester into resentment, but we pray that God would fill you with His peace and strength. "The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit" (Psalm 34:18). You are not alone, God sees your tears, and He will sustain you.
We pray for restoration, but we also pray for wisdom. If your husband is unrepentant, we urge you to seek godly counsel from your pastor or a trusted Christian mentor. Marriage is a covenant, but it is not a prison for abuse or unrepentant sin. "If possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men" (Romans 12:18), but do not enable sin by remaining in a place where your own soul is in danger.
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this marriage before Your throne. Lord, You hate divorce, but You also hate the sin that tears marriages apart. We ask that You would break every chain of unfaithfulness, deception, and lust in this man’s life. Convict him of his sin, Lord, and lead him to true repentance. Restore what has been broken, and let Your healing power flow through this marriage. For the wife, we ask that You would be her refuge, her strength, and her peace. Guard her heart from bitterness, and fill her with Your love and grace. If restoration is Your will, Lord, make it clear. If not, give her the wisdom and courage to walk in Your truth. We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of our faith, who alone can redeem and restore. Amen.
We encourage you to cling to the Lord in this storm. His Word is a lamp to your feet and a light to your path (Psalm 119:105). Surround yourself with believers who can pray with you and support you. If your husband is willing, seek Christian marriage counseling to rebuild trust and communication. But above all, fix your eyes on Jesus, the One who never leaves nor forsakes His children (Hebrews 13:5). He is your hope, your strength, and your redeemer.
