We hear the deep pain and anger in your heart, and we come before the Lord with you, lifting up your cry for justice. The hurt you’ve endured is real, and we stand with you in seeking God’s righteous intervention. However, we must also examine this prayer in light of Scripture, for our words to God must align with His truth and character.
First, we must address the tone of vengeance in your request. While it is right to seek justice, Scripture warns us against taking vengeance into our own hands or praying for harm upon others. Romans 12:19 says, "Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, ‘Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.’" God is just, and He will deal with wrongdoing in His perfect way and time. Our role is to trust Him, not to demand punishment or shame upon another.
We also notice the focus on material restitution ("refund all my money back to me 10 fold"). While God cares about justice in earthly matters, our ultimate hope is in Him, not in financial repayment. Matthew 6:19-20 reminds us, "Don’t lay up treasures for yourselves on the earth, where moth and rust consume, and where thieves break through and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven..." True healing comes from God’s presence, not from earthly compensation.
Most importantly, we must pray for the salvation of this person who has wronged you. Ezekiel 33:11 declares, "As I live,’ says the Lord Yahweh, ‘I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live. Turn, turn from your evil ways! For why will you die?" Even in our pain, we are called to pray for those who hurt us, that they might repent and turn to Christ.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this dear one who has been deeply wounded. Lord, You see the pain, the betrayal, and the injustice they have endured. We ask for Your healing touch to mend their broken heart. Fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, and let Your love surround them in this difficult time.
Father, we pray for justice to be served according to Your will. You are a God of righteousness, and we trust that You will deal with every wrong. Help this one to release their anger and desire for vengeance into Your hands, knowing that You will repay. Teach them to forgive, not because the wrong was justified, but because You have forgiven us so much.
Lord, we also pray for the one who has caused this pain. Soften their heart, convict them of their sin, and lead them to repentance. May they turn to You, seek forgiveness, and walk in Your ways. If there is restitution to be made, guide the process according to Your will.
Above all, Father, we ask for Your supernatural favor and victory in this one’s life. Restore what has been lost, not just materially, but emotionally and spiritually. Let them experience Your goodness and faithfulness in every area of their life. Surround them with godly support and wisdom as they move forward.
We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the One who bore our pain and offers us true healing and hope. Amen.
Friend, we encourage you to release your anger and desire for vengeance to God. Cling to Him in this storm, for He is your refuge and strength. Psalm 34:18 assures us, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." You are not alone, God sees you, He hears you, and He will never leave you.
If you have not yet placed your trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so today. Romans 10:9 says, "that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." Only through Jesus can we find true peace, forgiveness, and eternal life. If you’d like to know more about how to begin a relationship with Him, we are here to help.
