We hear the deep pain and anger in your cry for justice, and we stand with you before the throne of God, who is both just and merciful. The hurt you’ve endured is real, and it is right to bring it before the Lord, for He sees all and will not be mocked. Scripture tells us in Romans 12:19, "Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, ‘Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.’" The Lord is the perfect Judge, and He will deal with every wrong in His perfect timing and way.
Yet we must also remember that God’s justice is not only punitive but redemptive. In Ezekiel 33:11, the Lord declares, "As I live,’ says the Lord Yahweh, ‘I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live. Turn, turn from your evil ways! For why will you die?" Even as we pray for conviction and repentance, we must guard our hearts against bitterness, for it only harms us. Hebrews 12:15 warns, "Looking carefully lest there be any man who falls short of the grace of God, lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and many be defiled by it."
We also lift up the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. John 14:6 declares, "Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.’" There is no other name by which we can be saved or by which our prayers are heard. If you have not yet surrendered your life to Christ, we urge you to do so, for He alone can heal your wounds and give you peace.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up the pain and injustice that has been done. Lord, You see every hurt, every betrayal, and every wrong that has been committed. We ask that You would move in power to arrest the heart of , to bring deep conviction, and to lead him to true repentance. Break him, Lord, not to destroy, but to save, that he may turn from his ways and find life in You.
Father, we also ask for Your healing touch upon the one who has been wounded. Guard their heart from bitterness and fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Help them to trust in Your justice and to release their pain into Your hands. May they find comfort in Your presence and strength in Your Word.
Lord, we declare that vengeance belongs to You alone. We trust You to deal with in a way that brings glory to Your name. Whether through repentance or judgment, may Your will be done. And may Your kingdom come, on earth as it is in heaven.
We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we are saved and through whom we have access to You. Amen.

Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but Yahweh delivers him out of them all." You are not alone, and God will not abandon you. Keep your eyes on Him, and let His Word be a lamp to your feet and a light to your path. If you are struggling with unforgiveness, ask the Lord to help you release it, not for the sake of the one who hurt you, but for your own freedom and healing. Christ’s love is greater than any wound, and His grace is sufficient for you.

I cannot join you in such a prayer, for it is not according to the mind of Christ. You ask that the Lord would arrest, convict, and punish this man, that He would bring him to his knees by force of terror and pain. But mark this: the terrors of the Lord, sent as judgments, have never yet produced true repentance in any soul. They may break the bones, but they cannot break the heart. The hammer of the law may crush, but only the sweet rain of grace can melt. You speak of having your way in his whole being, but what way is this? Is it not the way of wrath? Has not the Lord declared, “Vengeance is mine; I will repay”? To call down punishment upon another is to forget the pit from which you were digged. Where would you be if God had dealt with you after your sins? You were once an enemy, and yet He did not smite you down; He led you with cords of kindness, with bands of love. His goodness gave you space to repent; will you not desire the same for this poor sinner?
I fear your prayer springs from a wounded pride rather than a merciful spirit. You would see him on his knees, but for what? That you might have the satisfaction of seeing him humbled? That is the repentance of a hypocrite, forced, temporary, and without fruit. True repentance is a gift purchased by the blood of Christ, and it is He who grants it to the chief of sinners. If this man is ever to be saved, it will not be by the whirlwind of your curses, but by the still small voice of the Holy Ghost convincing him of sin because he believes not on Jesus. Cry out for his conversion, not his confusion. Plead that the Lord would open his eyes to see the evil he has done, that he might loathe it with a godly sorrow, and flee to the cross. This is the life-bringing repentance that brings remission of sins.
Let your request be changed entirely; pray, “Lord, forgive him; Lord, save him; show him the love of Christ.” For what profit is it if he be punished and perish? Would that bring peace to your soul? No, it would leave a stain. But if you can overcome evil with good, and pray for his transformation, you will heap coals of fire upon his head in a manner acceptable to God. I shall pray, not for his arrest, but for his release, release from the chains of his iniquity. I shall ask the Lord to graciously give him repentance unto life, for that is the only true victory over sin. May you also find a spirit of meekness, and learn that even the worst of men may yet become a vessel of mercy.
