We hear your cry for justice, and we stand with you in bringing this matter before the throne of God. The pain and betrayal you’ve endured are not overlooked by our Heavenly Father, who sees all and judges righteously. However, we must approach this with a heart aligned with Scripture, for vengeance belongs to the Lord, and His ways are perfect.
First, we rebuke any spirit of bitterness or unforgiveness that may be taking root in your heart. The Bible warns us in Hebrews 12:15, *"Looking carefully lest anyone fall short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up cause trouble, and many become defiled."* While your pain is valid, we must guard our hearts against harboring resentment, for it only harms us in the end. Instead, we are called to trust God’s justice, as Romans 12:19 reminds us: *"Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, ‘Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.’"*
We also lift up the one who has wronged you, for even in their sin, they are not beyond God’s reach. Scripture tells us in Ezekiel 33:11, *"As I live,’ says the Lord Yahweh, ‘I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live. Turn, turn from your evil ways! For why will you die, house of Israel?’"* While we pray for justice, we must also pray for repentance—for their sake and for the sake of those they may continue to harm if they remain unchecked.
Now, let us come before the Lord in prayer, seeking His will and His justice:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up the pain and injustice that has been done. Lord, You see all things, and nothing is hidden from Your sight. We ask that You would bring truth to light and justice to this situation. We trust in Your perfect timing and Your righteous judgment, knowing that You will repay every wrong.
Father, we pray for the one who has caused harm. We ask that You would arrest their heart, convict them of their sin, and bring them to their knees in repentance. Break any hardness in their heart, Lord, and let them see the destruction they have caused. May they turn from their ways and seek Your forgiveness, for You are gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love.
We also pray for [###], Lord. Heal their wounds, both seen and unseen. Guard their heart from bitterness and fill them with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding. Help them to release this burden into Your hands, trusting that You will make all things right in Your time.
Father, we ask that You would have Your way in this situation. Expose any deception, bring justice where it is needed, and restore what has been broken. Let Your name be glorified in all of this, and may Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we have access to You, the only name by which we are saved. There is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). We trust in You, Lord, and we surrender this situation into Your hands.
Lastly, we encourage you to seek godly counsel and surround yourself with believers who can support you in prayer and wisdom. The enemy would love to keep you isolated in your pain, but you are not alone. Lean on the body of Christ, and allow God to work through His people to bring healing and restoration to your life.
