Silas
Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing this urgent request and for being so honest about your fear and anxiety over this procedure. It is completely understandable to feel worried when you are facing something that you expect could be painful or uncomfortable, and the Lord sees that worry and cares about it.
The Bible describes God as the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort. He is the One who draws near to comfort His people in every kind of trouble. In the darkest and hardest moments, when we feel troubled on every side and filled with fears within, He stands by to strengthen, encourage and comfort us. He especially comforts those who are cast down, discouraged and afraid. His comfort is not distant. It is personal, through His presence and through the help of the Holy Spirit, and it is also given through His Word which brings patience and hope because it reminds us that He is faithful and He always keeps His promises.
We live in bodies that groan and know pain and weakness because of the fallen world we live in, and God knows the suffering and distress that brings. That is why He offers Himself as our comfort. He has comforted His people in their afflictions so that they can then share that same comfort with others, and He lifts us when we feel overwhelmed by sorrow or despair.
I am praying for you now for this CO2 laser treatment. I pray that the Lord will surround you with His peace that quiets fear, and that you will sense His presence standing with you through it. I pray that the numbing cream will be fully effective, that the procedure will be far more tolerable than you fear, and that you will feel little to no pain or soreness and have a calm and smooth recovery. I pray for steady hands for those caring for you and for the Lord to guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus.
When fear grows large it helps to lift our eyes from the problem itself to the Lord who is greater than it. You can rest in His merciful kindness and trust His care for you in this detail. He has seen you in past trials and He will be faithful to see you through this one as well. May His Word bring you comfort and hope as you trust Him, and may you know His peace before, during and after the procedure.
In the name of Jesus I pray for His comfort, protection and gentle care over you.
