We hear the depth of your pain and the urgency in your cry and we join with you in bringing this hurt before the Lord together in Jesus' name. We understand you have suffered greatly and you believe many others have suffered as well through mistreatment, and we grieve with you over that pain.

We want to gently bring a biblical perspective to the way we pray for justice. Our hearts naturally cry out for immediate punishment when we have been wounded, and God understands that cry. Yet Scripture teaches us that vengeance belongs to the Lord and that we are to trust Him as the righteous Judge while also honoring the authorities He has established to carry out justice. Vengeance is mine, and I will repay, says the Lord in Romans 12:19. Also it is written The Lord executes righteous acts and justice for all who are oppressed in Psalm 103:6. And we are reminded in Romans 13:1 that there is no authority except from God, and those who exist are ordained by God, which means medical boards, courts and lawful investigations are instruments God can use to reveal truth and protect others.

So we do not pray from a spirit of personal revenge or for harm to come to a person, but we do pray earnestly for truth to be exposed, for justice to be done rightly, and for the protection of patients. We pray that if wrongdoing has occurred, the Lord would bring it into the light, for there is nothing hidden that will not be revealed in Luke 8:17. We pray that those in authority would have wisdom, discernment and courage to investigate honestly and act justly, for When justice is done, it is a joy to the righteous in Proverbs 21:15.

We also remember the call of Christ to pray even for those who have hurt us, not to excuse wrong but to desire repentance and righteousness. We are taught to love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you in Matthew 5:44. Therefore we pray not only for accountability but that this surgeon would be brought to conviction of any wrong, to humility and to repentance before God, and that he would no longer be in a position to harm anyone if he is truly unfit or unsafe.

We lift you and every other patient who has been hurt to the Lord for healing, for He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds in Psalm 147:3. We ask for the Lord's comfort and peace to guard your heart as you wait on His justice, for In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus in Philippians 4:6-7. We also pray the promise But I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh in Jeremiah 30:17 over your body and mind where trauma and pain have taken hold.

We pray together now. Father in heaven, we come before Your throne of grace in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him we have access to You. We bring before You this deep wound and all the suffering that has been endured. Lord You see what has happened and You know the truth fully. We ask that Your perfect justice and mercy prevail. If there has been malpractice, negligence or mistreatment, we ask that You expose what is hidden and allow truth to be made known to the proper authorities. Give wisdom and integrity to those who review medical practice and to any legal authorities involved, that they would act justly and protect the vulnerable. We ask that You stop any ongoing harm according to Your will. We pray that this doctor would be brought to his knees in godly conviction, not merely human shame, that he would see the weight of his actions, repent and turn to You if he does not know You. And Father we ask for healing for this dear one praying and for all others who have been hurt, heal memories, heal bodies, calm anxiety, restore trust where it can be restored and give wisdom for next steps including godly counsel, wise medical care and proper reporting through lawful channels. Let Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven and let Your peace reign in this heart while waiting on You. We entrust vengeance to You and choose to seek Your righteousness and healing. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior we pray, amen.

We encourage you to continue to cast your burden fully on the Lord while also taking wise and lawful steps, reporting your concerns with documentation to the appropriate medical board or patient advocacy resources and seeking support from trusted counselors and pastors as you heal. We are praying with you for God's truth, justice and healing to prevail in His perfect timing.

We ask for Your healing touch, for wisdom for every doctor and helper involved, for clear next steps, and for Your justice and mercy to be done according to Your perfect will. Your cry of pain has been heard, and I do not take lightly the suffering and mistreatment you describe. To endure hurt at the hands of one who was trusted to bring healing is a deep trial, and it is right that you should bring your sorrow before the Lord, for He sees all that is done and He is a God of perfect justice and perfect mercy.

The desire for wrongs to be made right is not wrong in itself, for the Lord loves justice. Yet the Scriptures teach us that vengeance belongs unto the Lord, and we are to leave judgment in His hands and in the hands of those authorities He has ordained for the protection of others. It is not for us to ask the Lord to become the instrument of our bitterness, but to ask that His will be done, that truth be brought to light through lawful and orderly means, and that those appointed to judge these matters may act with wisdom and impartiality.

I understand the urgency you feel, but I cannot join you in praying for the destruction or punishment of another soul in the terms you have used. Such prayers, though born of anguish, would leave your own heart in bitterness, and bitterness is a heavy burden to carry. As I have often said to my people, one effect of true grace in the soul is to take away all bitterness against our fellow men, and to make Christ very sweet to us in our affliction. Where God begins a work of comfort, He will complete it, and He does not ask you to finish it by harbouring wrath.

There is forgiveness with God, and that truth is your hope in this hour. As it is written, there is forgiveness with Him, that He may be feared. If you have come to Christ as a sinner trusting in His blood alone, you have forgiveness that is full, complete and everlasting, not because your cause is perfect, but because His sacrifice is perfect. That same forgiveness which you have received from His hands is the pattern for your own heart toward those who have wronged you. This does not mean that wrongs should be hidden or that accountability should not be sought. If you believe malpractice has occurred, you should seek godly counsel and pursue the proper and lawful channels, that a medical board and other rightful authorities may examine the matter justly and protect others if need be.

Let us pray then not for vengeance, but for that which God delights to give. I will pray that the Lord will bring you healing in body and peace in soul, that He will calm your spirit and lift the weight of fear and anger, that He will cause the truth to be known in the right way and at the right time, that He will grant wisdom to all who are called to judge, and that He will bring even this surgeon, if he has done wrong, to a true sight of his need and to repentance before God, for there is forgiveness even for the chief of sinners through the blood of Jesus Christ. And I will pray that you may be kept from despair by trusting not in your own strength, but in the sinner's Savior who invites you to cast all your care upon Him.

Cast your burden upon the Lord, trust Him fully, and know that He who has forgiven you will sustain you and keep you through this bitter trial until bitterness itself gives way to the sweetness of His presence.

Your cry of pain has been heard, and the suffering you describe is real and grievous. When harm has been done to the body and trust has been broken by one who was meant to heal, the heart rightly aches and longs for justice. I want to pray with you, but I must also guide you toward the way Christ teaches us to pray in such sorrow.

Scripture teaches us that vengeance belongs to the Lord, and that His judgment is righteous. It is not for us to treasure up wrath for ourselves or to ask God to destroy another person without delay. God in His great lovingkindness delays judgment precisely so that there may be space for truth to come to light and for repentance and healing to take place. He sees every injustice, even when earthly judgments fail, and He will in the end reveal what is right. That future revelation should make us sober, not eager to call down immediate punishment, because we ourselves stand in need of His mercy and forgiveness for much greater debts.

This does not mean that wrongdoing should be ignored or that accountability does not matter. God has appointed proper courts and authorities for this very purpose, that wrongs may be examined carefully and justly. If you have been harmed, you are right to seek truth through lawful and orderly means, through medical review boards, through wise counsel and legal help, so that what is true can be exposed and others can be protected. That path of seeking justice through rightful channels is very different from keeping anger in the heart and asking God to bring a person to his knees in a spirit of revenge. The ways of the revengeful lead to death, and to remember injuries and nurse anger harms our own soul and makes our prayer for healing difficult.

Christ trains us to have a gentle and human soul, to not revile or trample upon others even when we have been wronged, but to entrust judgment to Him. As we come to receive forgiveness for our own sins, we are called to release the desire for personal vengeance into His hands. Forgiveness does not mean pretending the harm did not happen, and it does not remove the need for a just examination of what occurred. It means we do not make ourselves the judge and executioner in our prayers, but we ask God to do what is right and merciful according to His perfect wisdom.

So let me pray with you in a way that honors God and seeks your good:

Lord Jesus Christ, You are the true physician of soul and body, have mercy on this wounded one. Bring comfort, healing, and peace where there is pain and fear. Let all truth be brought into the light through just and lawful examination, and grant wisdom and integrity to all who are responsible for judging these matters. If wrong has been done, grant that it be corrected and that others be protected. Grant also to this doctor, if he has done wrong, the grace to see it, to repent, and to turn to what is right. And grant to the one who suffers grace to release anger to You, to receive Your forgiveness, and to walk in gentleness and strength. Guard this heart from bitterness, and lead all of us to that day when Your righteous judgment will be revealed. Amen.
