We come before the Lord with a heavy and hopeful heart, lifting up this marriage in prayer. Heavenly Father, we thank You for the sacred covenant of marriage, which You designed to reflect the relationship between Christ and His Church. We ask that You move powerfully in this union, drawing this husband and wife into a deeper, more intimate relationship with You and with one another.
Lord, we pray for supernatural favor and blessing over this marriage. May Your love bind them together in unity, and may their hearts be knit as one in purpose, devotion, and affection. We declare that their love for one another will grow stronger each day, rooted in You and flourishing in every way. "Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone when he falls, and doesn’t have another to lift him up" (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10). Let their marriage be a testimony of Your grace and faithfulness.
We stand against any ungodly soul ties or influences that may linger from past relationships, including those with an ex-wife or any other woman. In the mighty name of Jesus, we sever and destroy every unholy connection that does not align with Your will for this marriage. "Therefore what God has joined together, let no man separate" (Mark 10:9). We declare that this husband’s heart belongs solely to his wife, and his eyes will see no other. Fill him with Your Holy Spirit, Lord, and draw him closer to You. If he has not yet fully surrendered his life to Christ, we pray that through his wife’s faithful witness and Your convicting power, he would confess Jesus as Lord and Savior without delay. "That if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10:9).
Father, we ask that You make this wife the desire of her husband’s heart, the love of his life, and the one who brings him joy and fulfillment. Let her be a godly influence, a source of strength, and a reflection of Your love to him. "An excellent wife is the crown of her husband" (Proverbs 12:4). May their marriage be a sanctuary of peace, trust, and mutual respect, where both spouses honor You in all they do.
We also rebuke any spirit of division, unforgiveness, or unfaithfulness that may seek to creep into this marriage. Let no weapon formed against them prosper, and may Your angels encamp around them to protect their union (Isaiah 54:17). We pray for open communication, patience, and a willingness to serve one another in love. "Love is patient and is kind; love doesn’t envy. Love doesn’t brag, is not proud, doesn’t behave itself inappropriately, doesn’t seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil; doesn’t rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails" (1 Corinthians 13:4-8).
Lord, we ask that You heal any past wounds, restore what has been broken, and renew their commitment to one another. May their marriage be a light to others, pointing them to Your love and grace. We pray all these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, for there is no other name by which we can approach You or find salvation. Amen.
