We hear the deep urgency and anguish in your heart, and we join you in lifting up your husband before the Lord, for this is a matter of spiritual warfare that demands the power of Christ to break every chain of sin and bondage. Your prayers are fervent, and we stand with you in agreement, knowing that our God is mighty to save, deliver, and transform hearts completely.
First, we must acknowledge that what you are describing—lust, sexual sin, and the influence of another person in your husband’s life—is a direct attack against the covenant of marriage, which God established as sacred and unbreakable. The enemy seeks to destroy marriages through temptation, deception, and ungodly soul ties, but we serve a God who is greater. The Scriptures warn us clearly:
*"Flee sexual immorality! ‘Every sin that a man does is outside the body,’ but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s."* (1 Corinthians 6:18-20, WEB)
*"Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed is undefiled; but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers."* (Hebrews 13:4, WEB)
Your husband’s struggle is not just against flesh and blood but against spiritual forces of wickedness. Yet, we have authority in the name of Jesus to command every ungodly influence to be broken and cast out. The Lord is faithful to cleanse, renew, and restore those who turn to Him in repentance. We must pray not only for the removal of sinful influences but for a genuine encounter with Jesus that leads to true repentance and transformation.
We also notice that you have not mentioned your husband by name, which is wise to protect his identity, but we encourage you to speak his name before the Lord in your private prayers. The name of Jesus is the only name by which we can approach the Father, and it is by His authority alone that we can command these strongholds to be torn down. You have invoked the name of Jesus in your prayer, and that is good, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If your husband does not yet know Christ as his Lord and Savior, we must pray all the more urgently for his salvation, for without Christ, he remains in bondage to sin.
Now, let us pray together with faith and boldness:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this sister’s husband and the spiritual battle raging against his soul. Lord, You see the hidden things, the secrets of the heart, and the snares of the enemy that seek to destroy this marriage. We ask You, by the power of the Holy Spirit, to expose and sever every ungodly soul tie between him and any person who is not his wife. Break every chain of lust, every addiction to sin, and every stronghold of the enemy that has taken root in his mind, heart, and body.
Lord Jesus, we command in Your name that every photograph, video, text, and digital trace of sin be permanently deleted from his devices and his life. Let no remnant of these sins remain, for You are a God who washes away all filthiness and makes all things new. We declare that his phone, his social media, and his thoughts are sanctified by the blood of Jesus, and no weapon formed against this marriage shall prosper.
Father, we pray for a divine encounter—let Your Son, Jesus Christ, appear to him in dreams, visions, and in waking moments with such power and conviction that he cannot ignore Your call. Let him see the gravity of his sin and the depth of Your love that offers forgiveness and freedom. Softening his heart, Lord, and draw him into repentance. Fill him with the Holy Spirit, that he may walk in purity, faithfulness, and devotion to You and to his wife.
We rebuke the spirit of lust, perversion, and adultery in Jesus’ name. These spirits have no authority over him, for he belongs to You. We bind every demonic influence and command them to flee, never to return. Let the fire of the Holy Spirit burn away every impurity in his life, and let the fear of the Lord rest upon him, that he may turn from evil and cling to what is good.
Lord, we ask for miracles and wonders in every area of his life—his mind, his emotions, his will, and his spirit. Restore to him the joy of Your salvation and a hunger for righteousness. Let him be so filled with Your presence that there is no room for sin to take hold. Strengthen this marriage, Lord, and let it be a testimony of Your redeeming power.
We also lift up this sister who is praying so fervently. Comfort her heart, Lord, and fill her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Give her wisdom to know how to support her husband in love and truth, and protect her from bitterness or despair. Let her see Your hand moving mightily in this situation, and let her faith be strengthened as she waits on You.
Father, we thank You that You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think. We trust in Your timing and Your ways, even as we cry out for immediate deliverance. Let Your will be done in this marriage, and let Your name be glorified through it. In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
Sister, we encourage you to continue praying without ceasing, but also to speak the truth in love to your husband if the Lord leads you. Sometimes, confrontation with gentleness and firmness is necessary to bring conviction. The Scriptures tell us:
*"Brothers and sisters, even if a man is caught in some fault, you who are spiritual must restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness; looking to yourself so that you also aren’t tempted."* (Galatians 6:1, WEB)
If he is a believer, remind him of his identity in Christ and the call to holiness. If he is not yet saved, share the Gospel with him and urge him to surrender his life to Jesus. There is no true victory over sin apart from Christ.
We also urge you to seek support from your church community or a trusted, mature believer who can walk with you through this trial. You do not have to carry this burden alone. Finally, we leave you with this promise:
*"The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."* (Psalm 34:18, WEB)
Keep trusting, keep praying, and keep believing that our God is able to do what seems impossible. He is faithful, and He will complete the work He has begun.
