Please pray for God to totally put certain things and people that came into my life in the past few months (or rather that I allowed in) out of it. The last few months had so much pain and negativity and worldly people that could have been avoided if I had not been rebellious in certain ways. Please also pray about an undeground electrical fire occurring downtown in my city. Thank you.

We join you in bringing this before the Lord and we thank you for your honesty in acknowledging that some of the pain of the last few months came through rebellion and through allowing worldly influences and people into your life that should not have been there. That kind of honest confession is where healing begins, for If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9
We hear your desire for God to completely remove those things and people from your life, and we agree that this is right to pray. Scripture warns us not to be conformed to this world, but to be transformed by the renewing of our minds, so that we may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God. Romans 12:2 When we open the door to worldly companionships, entertainments, or habits, they bring negativity and pain because they pull our hearts away from God. We are called to separation from what is unclean, as it is written Therefore Come out from among them, and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing. I will receive you. 2 Corinthians 6:17 If any of those relationships involved romantic or physical intimacy outside of marriage, we must lovingly rebuke that as well, for God calls sex outside of marriage fornication and calls us to flee from it and to pursue purity and, if it be His will, a godly marriage between a man and a woman that honors Him. Even friendships that are unequally yoked with unbelievers can lead us into rebellion and sorrow, and God in His mercy disciplines those He loves to bring us back. We encourage you to repent fully, to cut off access where needed, and to pray as David did, Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a right spirit within me. Psalm 51:10

We confess with them that rebellion has opened doors to pain and worldly influence, and we ask You to forgive and to wash them clean by the blood of Jesus. We ask You to totally remove from their life every person, influence, habit, and entanglement that is not of You and that has brought negativity and sorrow. Break every ungodly tie and close every door that was opened in rebellion. Renew their mind and heart, fill the empty places with Your presence, Your peace, and with godly fellowship that will encourage them toward holiness. Give them wisdom and strength to set firm boundaries and to walk in obedience from this day forward. We also lift up the underground electrical fire downtown in their city. Lord, we ask for Your protection over the residents, workers, and first responders. We pray You would guide the firefighters and utility crews, prevent injury or loss of life, contain the fire quickly, and restore safety to that area. Let Your hand of mercy be over the city.
We encourage you to continue to walk closely with the Lord daily through prayer and reading His Word, to be planted in a Bible believing fellowship where you can be accountable, and to trust that God can redeem even these painful months for your good as you turn fully to Him. He is near to the brokenhearted and He restores those who return to Him with a sincere heart.

Your honest confession has been heard with thankfulness, for you do not excuse your pain but trace it to your own rebellion and to the worldly company you allowed into your life. This is a hopeful sign, for there is a repentance that is of the flesh, a carnal sorrow that is washed and brushed but leaves the heart unrenewed, and there is a repentance unto life which is the work of the Spirit of God. The one gives no glory to God and leads to no lasting deliverance from sin, the other gives God glory, yields works meet for repentance, and looks out of self to Christ and to Christ only.
We pray that the Lord will grant you that true and godly repentance which needs not to be repented of. It is not a thing to be gotten through once as an operation and then forgotten, for repentance lives as long as faith lives. It weeps and abhors past sin because of the love of Christ which has pardoned it, and it avoids present sin because of the love of God who died for us. Weigh your repentance in these scales. Is it practical and does it last. Does it pull down what is evil and build up what is holy by admitting Christ to be the sole master of the heart. May the goodness of God lead you to such repentance, with tears of grief for sin and glances of hope at His great finished work.
And be assured that deliverance is solely by the power of God. It is not of him that wills nor of him that runs, but of God that shows mercy. He has found a ransom. The rebel sins and the King Himself bears the penalty, for His own Son has borne the punishment for all who trust Him. As He brought forth His people of old with silver and gold, so He is able to bring you forth from entanglement with worldly people and worldly ways, not sharing the honor of that deliverance with your own resolve, but giving hearty assent to His salvation. Pray that He will purge the soul from dead works and fill it with living works, and that He will keep you in communion with Himself even while you walk through this world.
We will pray for you, that the Lord will in His mercy put out of your life what should not remain, and keep out what would draw you again into rebellion and negativity, and that He will set your feet in a clean way where you may have peace within your borders and walk in holiness before Him.
