Please pray for my family to have wisdom about whether to sell, give away or fix an old car we have. Please also pray for God to mend problems I caused for myself and others by recently being in a relationship I should never have been in. Pray that God would also mend problems caused by other previous relationships I never should have been in. Thank you.

We have heard your request and we bring it before the Lord together in Jesus' name. We join you in seeking God's wisdom for your family and His healing and restoration for the consequences of past relationships.

We pray first for wisdom regarding the old car. Whether to sell, give away, or repair it is a matter of stewardship, and God cares about even these practical decisions. We ask Him to give your family clear direction and unity. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him James 1:5. We trust Him to guide your steps as you acknowledge Him, for He will direct your paths Proverbs 3:5-6. We pray that He will help you consider what is most helpful, most generous, and most financially wise, and that your family would have peace in whatever decision honors Him.

We also lift up the deeper burden you shared about being in a relationship you should never have been in, and other previous relationships you never should have been in. We appreciate your honesty and humility in acknowledging this before God. We want to speak truth in love as Scripture calls us to. God designed romantic relationships to be courtship with the goal of marriage to another Christian believer, and He designed marriage to be a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:4-6. Any sexual intimacy before or outside of that marriage is fornication, and if involving a married person is adultery, and the Bible calls us to flee from sexual immorality 1 Corinthians 6:18, Hebrews 13:4. We are also commanded not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers 2 Corinthians 6:14, and any same sex relationship is forbidden as homosexuality before God Romans 1:26-27, 1 Corinthians 6:9-10. When we step outside God's design, we not only sin against Him but we bring hurt upon ourselves and others, as you have experienced. We gently rebuke what was not aligned with His will, not to condemn you but to call you back to the freedom of obedience, because God disciplines those He loves and calls us to repentance.

There is good news and great hope. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness 1 John 1:9. Though your sins are as scarlet, they will be as white as snow Isaiah 1:18, and as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us Psalm 103:12. God is able to mend what has been broken. He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds Psalm 147:3, and He promises to restore to you the years that the locust has eaten Joel 2:25. Even when consequences remain, He can bring redemption, reconciliation where possible, and peace where restoration with others may not be possible. We pray He would guard your heart going forward, that any future courtship would be with a godly believer with marriage as the clear goal, pursuing purity and accountability.

We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to lovingly share why this is so important. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God the Father, for Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. To be saved we must confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in our heart that God raised Him from the dead Romans 10:9. It is through faith in His death and resurrection for our sins that we are forgiven and made new 1 Corinthians 15:3-4, Ephesians 2:8-9. We encourage you to place your full trust in Jesus alone for forgiveness and for daily access to God in prayer.

We pray together now, Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, thanking You that You are merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love. We ask You to pour out wisdom upon this family concerning this car, that they would know with clarity whether to sell it, give it away, or repair it, and that they would steward what You have given them for Your glory. Lord, we confess on behalf of our dear one the sins in past relationships that were outside Your perfect will, including any fornication and any unions that were not with a fellow believer moving toward godly marriage. We ask for Your complete forgiveness through the blood of Jesus and for Your cleansing. Mend, Lord, the problems caused for themselves and for others, heal wounded hearts, repair trust where it can be repaired, and bring godly closure where relationships must end. Help them to walk in purity and in the sanctity of marriage as You designed it between a man and a woman for life. Guard them from future temptation and give them strength to flee from what does not honor You. Restore what the enemy has damaged and let their life bear witness to Your redeeming grace. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, amen.

We encourage you to continue walking in repentance and in the Word daily, seeking fellowship with mature believers who can hold you accountable in purity and wisdom. Trust that God is not finished with your story and that He can use even past mistakes for good as you surrender to Him Romans 8:28. We are praying with you for clear direction, for complete healing, and for a future that honors Him.

Thank you for sharing so honestly with us. We hear both the practical weight of the family decision and the deeper ache over past relationships, and we want to stand with you in prayer for both.

For the car, these family decisions can be difficult because everyone may see the costs and needs a little differently. It can help to set aside unhurried time together to lay out the real numbers for fixing it versus letting it go, talk through how the car is actually needed day to day, and pray together for unity and clear direction before any final choice.

We also hear your desire for God to mend what was broken through relationships you now see should not have happened. Owning that takes humility, and God meets that humility with grace. Healing in these areas is often gradual. Choosing to turn from what was wrong is one step, and the quieter work of letting go of regret, making amends where it is wise and possible, and learning new patterns takes more time. Forgiveness itself and rebuilding a relationship are not always the same thing, and wisdom often means seeking healing without reopening a door that should stay closed. If you have a trusted pastor or counselor, walking through next steps with one person who knows your story can bring clarity and accountability.

Father, we bring this family to You in Jesus' name. Grant them wisdom and unity as they decide about this car, and show them the path that serves You best. Bring healing where relationships have left hurt for them and for others, cover what needs to be covered by Your mercy, and guide each step forward in wholeness and peace. Amen.

Bless me to trust You with all my heart, lean not to my own understanding, acknowledge You in all my ways, and allow You to direct my footsteps and actions. Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.

God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. We have carried your requests to the throne of grace and thank you for your honest and humble confession before the Lord.

For the matter of the old car, we have prayed that God would grant your family clear wisdom. He promises that if any lack wisdom, to ask of Him who gives liberally, and we have asked Him to guide you to the course that is most prudent and good stewardship for your household, whether that be to sell, to give away, or to repair, and that He would give you unity and peace in the decision.

For the heavier burden concerning relationships you should never have been in, we praise God that you see them in the light of His Word. Marriage as God ordained it is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and all intimacy belongs within that covenant alone. We do not ask God to bless what He has called sin, but we do rejoice to tell you what the Scripture declares, There is forgiveness with Thee.

There is forgiveness with God through Jesus Christ alone. Not a partial forgiveness, not a forgiveness for this sin or that, but a complete and divine forgiveness. I, even I, am He that blotteth out thy transgressions for Mine own sake. As soon as a sinner trusts in the crucified Saviour, all his sins are forgiven, whether past, present, or to come. The gifts and calling of God are without repentance, He never plays fast and loose with men, and what He pardons He pardons eternally. However sinful your life may have been up until now, there is forgiveness even for you, and that forgiveness is to be found only in Christ.

With that forgiveness there comes healing. The leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is healing to the soul. We have prayed that the Lord would not only forgive but also mend, so far as it is His gracious will, the problems and wounds caused to yourself and to others by these relationships. He is able to restore so effectually that He says, They shall be as though I had not cast them aside. He can purge the evil, change the life blood, and make the nature other than it was before.

We have prayed that He would keep you now in His grace, that you would walk in repentance and in new obedience, turning from every path that led you astray, and that He would guard your heart and life henceforth by His Spirit, and make you to know the joy of pardon which makes us forget the reproach of the past. May you look to Christ alone for salvation and find in Him both present forgiveness and the removal of sin's consequences, for the inhabitant shall not say, I am sick, when the Lord has forgiven iniquity.

May the Lord confirm to your soul that there is forgiveness, that there was forgiveness, and that there will be forgiveness as long as life lasts to all who come to Him through Jesus, and may He give you grace to rest in that forgiveness and to walk in holiness before Him.

We pray that God will give you and your family clear wisdom regarding the old car. His wisdom is not like the wisdom of this world, but is pure and generous to those who ask. We ask Him to guide your decisions about whether to sell, give away, or repair it, so that you may steward what He has provided well and choose what brings peace and is most helpful for your household.

We also join you in thanking God that you can see these past relationships were not according to His will. God in His longsuffering does not desire to sweep us away for our sins, but to lead us to repentance. Through Jesus Christ alone there is forgiveness and the washing away of sins, and He is faithful to forgive those who turn to Him with a sincere heart.

We pray that God in His mercy would mend the harm that was caused to yourself and to others through these relationships. True repentance means not only turning away from what was wrong, but also bringing forth fruit that shows a changed life, learning continence, seeking peace with God and with others, and walking in purity going forward. We pray He will heal wounds, restore what can be restored, guard your heart, and strengthen you to live in a way that honors His design for marriage as a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, with all intimacy kept within that covenant.
