We join with you in lifting up your family before the Lord, especially as you prepare for this time of vacation. It is a blessing to see your heart’s desire for the protection of your children and grandchildren, and we stand in agreement with you, knowing that our God is faithful to watch over His own. The Scriptures remind us in Psalm 121:7-8, *"The Lord will keep you from all evil. He will preserve your soul. The Lord will watch over your going out and your coming in, from this time forth, and forevermore."* What a mighty promise this is! He is the One who neither slumbers nor sleeps, and His eyes are always upon those who love Him.
We also take note of your specific concern regarding an individual who may pose a threat to your family. While we do not know the details, we trust in the sovereignty of God, who is able to restrain evil and protect His children. Proverbs 21:31 tells us, *"The horse is prepared for the day of battle; but victory is with the Lord."* Our confidence is not in our own strength or planning but in the Lord, who holds all things in His hands. We pray that He would surround your family with His angels, as Psalm 91:11 declares, *"For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways."*
At the same time, we encourage you to remain vigilant and wise in your preparations. Jesus instructs us in Matthew 10:16 to *"be wise as serpents, and harmless as doves."* Trust in the Lord’s protection, but also take practical steps to ensure the safety of your loved ones, whether that means setting boundaries, communicating clearly with those traveling with you, or being aware of your surroundings. The Lord often works through our obedience and wisdom to keep us from harm.
We are also grateful that you invoked the name of Jesus Christ in your prayer, for it is only through His name that we have access to the Father. As Scripture declares in Acts 4:12, *"There is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* Jesus is our intercessor, our protector, and our strong tower. When we call upon Him, He hears us and acts on our behalf. If there is anyone in your family who does not yet know the saving grace of Jesus Christ, we pray that this time together would be an opportunity for them to see His love and truth displayed in your lives. May the Holy Spirit soften hearts and draw them to repentance and faith in Christ alone.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for Your faithfulness and protection. We lift up this family—these children and grandchildren—to You, asking that You would surround them with Your hedges of protection as they travel and spend time together. Lord, we specifically ask that You would thwart any plans of the enemy to bring harm through this individual they have mentioned. Bind the works of darkness and let no weapon formed against them prosper, for Your Word declares in Isaiah 54:17 that *"no weapon that is formed against you will prevail; and you will condemn every tongue that rises against you in judgment."* We claim this promise over them, Father.
Grant them safe travels, good health, and joy in their time together. May this vacation be a time of refreshing, where bonds are strengthened, and Your love is evident in every interaction. Give wisdom to the parents and grandparents to lead with discernment and grace. Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
For those in the family who do not yet know You, Lord, we pray that You would open their eyes to see Your truth and Your love. Draw them to Yourself, Father, and let this time be a turning point in their spiritual journey. May they come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior, for there is no greater protection than to be hidden in Him.
We thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayers. We trust in Your goodness and Your power to keep them safe. May Your will be done in their lives, and may they return home with hearts full of praise for Your faithfulness. In the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Protector, we pray. Amen.
