Your honest cry for help is heard, and the weight you feel over your marriage and your work is not taken lightly. When everything feels ruined, it is right to turn to God quickly and openly.
Scripture shows that God cares most about the heart underneath the crisis. John came preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins, and people came confessing their sins. Jesus preached the same call to repentance, and even when He spoke to the churches in Revelation He called them to repent and turn. That call is still needed today. It is a call to change direction, to turn from sin and toward God with a sincere heart.
It is easy to ask God only to fix the painful symptoms, the marriage struggle and the threat to your career, while leaving the deeper issue untouched. But all sin is ultimately against God, because He is the one who has given His commands. Saying you are sorry to people is important, but forgiveness from God comes only when you confess to Him and ask Him for it. There is no other way He has provided for sin to be forgiven except through Jesus Christ. He came not to call those who think they are righteous, but sinners to repentance. He described Himself as a physician who comes for the sick, for those who know they have great need. If you have not already, come to Him simply and confess what you have done, trusting that His death and resurrection alone can atone for your sin. To turn away from Him is the one path that leaves no forgiveness, but to turn to Him in faith brings forgiveness and new life. God does not desire that any should perish but that all should come to repentance, and the heavens rejoice over one person who truly repents.
God also shows in Scripture that marriage is a profound union. Two become one, a compound unity that reflects His own nature. That is why marriage is so serious and why its wounding brings such deep pain. True repentance is not just words. When there is genuine turning to God, it shows itself in change and, where possible, in restoration. That is the sign of a real work of God in the heart.
So bring this whole unspoken burden to Jesus now. Tell Him plainly what you have done, ask for His forgiveness through His blood, and ask Him to make you clean and to lead you in a new way of living. Ask Him also to guide you in what faithfulness and humility look like now toward your spouse and in your work, even if the consequences remain difficult.
Praying for you now, that God would grant you repentance that leads to life, that you would receive His forgiveness through Christ, that He would give you wisdom and courage to walk in honesty and obedience going forward, and that He would work in your marriage and your workplace according to His mercy and truth. If you have not yet trusted Jesus as your Savior, may today be the day you do, and may you know the hope that He gives to sinners who turn to Him.
