We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting you and your wife up in earnest prayer. The weight of medical expenses and the uncertainty of how to meet them can feel overwhelming, but we know that our God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He has been faithful to you throughout your life, performing miracles and answering prayers, and He will not abandon you now.
First, we pray for the peace of God that surpasses all understanding to guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Father, we ask that You fill this dear brother with Your perfect peace as he faces this mountain before him. Let him not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let his requests be made known to You. Remind him that You are his Provider, Jehovah Jireh, and that You know his needs even before he asks. "Do not be anxious, then, saying, ‘What will we eat?’, ‘What will we drink?’ or, ‘With what will we be clothed?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well" (Matthew 6:31-33 WEB).
We also lift up your need for financial provision. Lord, You own the cattle on a thousand hills, and nothing is too hard for You. We ask that You open a door for this brother to find someone willing to loan him the money he needs for this procedure. Provide a way where there seems to be no way, and let Your glory be revealed through this situation. "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight" (Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB). We declare that You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.
Father, we also want to encourage this brother to continue seeking You first in all things. It is easy to become consumed by the cares of this world, but You have called us to cast all our anxieties on You because You care for us (1 Peter 5:7 WEB). Remind him that his worth and security are found in You alone, not in his financial situation or the challenges he faces. Help him to keep his eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of his faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising its shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God (Hebrews 12:2 WEB).
We rebuke the spirit of fear and anxiety that may be trying to take hold of his heart. The enemy wants to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we may have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10 WEB). We declare that this brother will not be overcome by fear but will walk in the victory that is already his through Christ Jesus. We stand on Your promise that if we ask anything according to Your will, You hear us, and if we know that You hear us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions which we have asked of You (1 John 5:14-15 WEB).
Lord, we also pray for wisdom for this brother as he navigates this situation. Give him discernment in every decision he makes, and let Your Holy Spirit guide him into all truth. If there are steps he needs to take that he hasn’t considered, reveal them to him. If there are resources or assistance programs available to him, make them known. "If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him" (James 1:5 WEB).
Finally, we pray for your wife’s health and well-being. Lord, we ask that You strengthen her and give her peace as she faces her own medical challenges. Provide for her needs as well, and let her feel Your presence and comfort in a tangible way. Remind both of them that You are their healer and that by Your stripes, they are healed (Isaiah 53:5 WEB).
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name above every name, the name by which we are saved and through which we have access to the Father. There is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12 WEB). We thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayer and for Your faithfulness to Your children. We trust in You, knowing that You are working all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28 WEB). Amen.
