Beloved of All
My fiance broke my heart completely tonight in an argument đź’” and said horrible things. I'm so upset I'm having chest pain and crying. I don't know which way to turn.jesus help me God make a way for me please. I think I want to move out of state. I stay nervous and his family is mean. Please convict him. Is it too late?

We are lifting you up together before the Father in Jesus name and we are so grieved to hear how deeply your heart has been broken tonight. We hear your crying and your chest pain and your nervousness and we want you to know God sees you and is near to you right now. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted, and saves those who are crushed in spirit Psalm 34:18 and He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds Psalm 147:3. If you are having chest pain please do not ignore it, we urge you to seek medical help right away and to let a trusted person near you know how you are feeling, while we also pray for the Lord to calm your body and spirit and to carry your anxiety because He cares for you 1 Peter 5:7 and we are told In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7.

We are praying for your fiance as well, that God would convict him deeply for the horrible things he said in anger. Death and life are in the power of the tongue Proverbs 18:21 and we are commanded Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but only what is good for building others up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear Ephesians 4:29. A harsh word stirs up anger, but a gentle answer turns away wrath Proverbs 15:1. We rebuke the use of cruel and demeaning words in what should be a courtship leading to a holy marriage, and we pray the Lord will bring him to repentance and to speak with love and restraint, for your speech be always with grace Colossians 4:6. We also hear that his family has been mean to you and you feel nervous around them. We pray for grace to set godly boundaries and to pursue peace as far as it depends on you Romans 12:18 while also loving your enemies and praying for those who mistreat you Matthew 5:44.

We want to speak gently about your engagement because we believe in the sanctity of marriage as a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman as God designed it Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:6. An engagement is not marriage yet, it is courtship with the goal of marriage to another Christian believer, and it is a time to discern whether you can build a Christ centered marriage together. We strongly endorse marriage that honors God and we pray for a godly spouse and a marriage that reflects Christ's love for the church Ephesians 5:25-33. If you are living together or sharing sexual intimacy before marriage, we lovingly rebuke that and urge you to turn from it, because God calls us to flee sexual immorality 1 Corinthians 6:18 and to keep the marriage bed undefiled Hebrews 13:4. Purity before marriage protects your heart and gives you clarity to hear God without confusion or guilt, and if this has been part of your relationship we encourage you to repent and to pursue holiness together or apart as God leads 1 Thessalonians 4:3-4.

You asked if you should move out of state and if it is too late, and whether God can make a way. We encourage you not to make a life altering decision in the height of tears and chest pain tonight. God promises Behold, I will do a new thing, it springs out now, do not you know it, I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert Isaiah 43:19 and There is nothing too hard for you Jeremiah 32:27. It is not too late for God to convict, to heal, to restore, or to redirect. He can redeem what is broken Joel 2:25, but He also wants you to have wisdom to see whether this man is prepared to love you as Christ loves the church, with patience, kindness, and self control Galatians 5:22-23. We pray you will trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight Proverbs 3:5-6 and If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him James 1:5. Seek godly counsel from a pastor or mature Christian woman, involve your families in a healthy way if possible, and take time to pray and fast before deciding about moving.

We are praying together for you now, Father in heaven we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to You John 14:6 and there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. Lord we lift this dear daughter to You, You see her tears and hear her cry for help, touch her chest and calm her nervous heart, let Your perfect love cast out fear 1 John 4:18 and guard her with Your peace. Make a way for her where there seems to be no way 1 Corinthians 10:13 and give her clear direction whether to stay or to move, and let every step be ordered by You Psalm 37:23. Convict her fiance for every harsh and horrible word, bring him to godly sorrow that leads to repentance 2 Corinthians 7:10, teach him to bridle his tongue James 1:19 and to love with gentleness and honor 1 Peter 3:7. Soften the hearts of his family and give her protection and wisdom in dealing with them. If this engagement is Your will, purify it and make it holy and prepare them both for a lifelong covenant marriage that honors You, if it is not Your will give her courage to step away and trust You for a godly husband in Your timing Psalm 27:14. Heal her broken heart tonight, let her feel Your arms around her, and help her to rest in You and to know You will never leave her nor forsake her Deuteronomy 31:6. We ask all this in the mighty and merciful name of Jesus, Amen.

We are so sorry for the pain you are carrying tonight. A harsh argument with the person you hoped to marry, plus unkindness from his family, can leave you feeling shaken, tearful and unsure where to turn, and we hear how heavy this feels.

You mentioned chest pain and crying and staying nervous. Please have that chest pain checked promptly by a medical professional, alongside prayer not instead of it. A trusted person nearby can help you get care and stay with you while you are evaluated.

It makes sense that moving far away feels like the only way to find relief right now. When emotions are this raw it helps not to make a big decision alone or in the middle of the night. If you can, reach out tonight to one safe person you trust, a family member, friend, or pastor, and let them know what happened and how you are feeling. You do not have to sort everything about the relationship or the future at once.

We are praying for you and for wisdom for next steps.

Father in Jesus' name, we bring our sister to You in this hurting and anxious night. Calm her heart, guard her body, and bring steady help around her. Give her wisdom, safety, and clear direction for what to do next, and remind her she is not alone. Amen.

There is a Physician who heals the broken in heart and binds up their wounds, and He is near to you in this night of distress. Your sorrow has been poured out before the Lord, and He who sees tears and hears cries will not cast out one who comes to Him in truth.

You speak of chest pain and weeping and a spirit that stays nervous and troubled. Do not despise the care of the body while you seek the healing of the soul. If the pain in your chest continues, seek medical help without delay and let a trusted person near you know of your distress this night. Anxiety, as you have felt, unfits us to meet difficulty and brings no grist to the mill and no meal to the barrel. It does not comfort and it does not cure. Be prudent, cast your care upon Him who cares for you, and seek quietness of spirit before Him rather than a storm of worry. The least thing about Christ is healing, like leaves upon the tree of life, and there is abundance of healing power in Him for the wounds that others have made and for the sins that need pardon.

You ask if it is too late. It is not too late to be healed and forgiven. Healing and forgiveness are placed in happy conjunction in Christ. When Jesus healed, He said, Son, be of good cheer, your sins are forgiven you, and pardon and healing were one. The Lord has not left you to find your own way. Welcome to pardon and healing through our Lord Jesus, who is able to heal though He is not always at once believed. Faith comes by hearing and by being brought near to Him where He is teaching and present with power to heal.

Concerning your fiance and his family and the harsh words spoken, the Lord must be sought for wisdom above all. Marriage is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and living together and the union of the body belong only within that covenant. If you have not yet entered that covenant, do not ask God to bless what is outside His holy order, but ask Him to make you both holy and to convict where conviction is needed. Pray not only that he would be convicted, but that you also would be searched and led in the way everlasting, that both of you would be brought to salvation through Jesus Christ alone. Do not make so great a decision as moving far away in the heat of this wound. Seek godly counsel from a faithful pastor, bring a mature believer into your confidence, and weigh what is prudent and pure before the Lord. The desire to flee is natural when the heart is sore, but the way of wisdom is to be still before God, to seek His Word, and to take no step without prayer and counsel.

Let us pray for you. O Lord, Sun of Righteousness, rise upon this wounded one with healing in Your wings. Forgive sin, heal the broken heart, calm the nervous spirit, and take away fretfulness and fear. Give wisdom in this relationship, convict of all that is unholy, and lead in the path of purity and truth. If it be Your will that this covenant of marriage should be entered, make it holy and steadfast in You. If not, give courage to do what is right and to trust Your provision. Keep this precious soul, guard body and mind, and let Your leaves be for healing this night. Bring near faithful help and friends who will watch and pray, and draw this heart to find rest in Christ alone. Amen.
