Beloved of All
Your burden has been heard and we bring it before the Lord with you in prayer for your middle daughter, your youngest daughter, and yourself.
We pray for your middle daughter who is fighting anger as she seeks to leave alcohol behind. Scripture warns that anger unsettles the soul like a tempest and fills all with confusion, while a heart settled with God is like a ship in a harbor enjoying a profound calm. Anger and drunkenness leave the eyes and tongue and mind in disorder and give no place for wisdom, and the Holy Spirit does not dwell where wrath remains. We ask God to cleanse the root of bitterness and to take away that groundwork of anger, and to plant love within her like a faithful husbandman who does not allow thorns to spring up. Love is not puffed up, it is free from envy and from tyrannical passions, and it brings the serenity that belongs to those who walk with God. Pray with her that she may pray and live without wrath and disputing, and that God would give her self control and a calm spirit as she continues to turn from alcohol.
We also remember how a mother once came with great faith for her daughter who was grievously afflicted, and Christ said great is thy faith, be it unto thee even as thou wilt, to show that her faith contributed to her daughter's healing. In that same faith we ask the Lord Jesus, through whom alone salvation comes, to have mercy on your daughter, to heal the wounds left by mental and emotional abuse, to break every chain of alcohol, and to restore her hope. The fear that she will not have a family is heavy, especially as time feels short, but we pray that she would look carefully how she walks, not as unwise but as wise, redeeming the time and understanding what the will of the Lord is. God's design for family is good, marriage as a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and all intimacy and living together belonging within that covenant. We do not ask God to bless what is outside that design or what has harmed her, but we ask Him to lead her into wholeness, purity, and if it is His will, into a godly marriage in His time that reflects His faithfulness. May He comfort her and show her that her worth and future are in His hands, not in a relationship that has brought harm.
For you all we pray for safety as you drive often. We ask the Lord to keep your cars sound, to guard you from harm on the road, and to give you watchfulness and peace in every journey. We pray also for your youngest daughter and for you, that God would surround your home with protection, give you strength to support one another, and help you to show all gentleness and forbearance even in a world that brings many trials, giving no cause for reproach except for the sake of the Gospel.
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we lift this family to you. Heal the daughter who struggles with anger and with the desire for drink, deliver her from every abusive influence, cleanse her heart from wrath, and fill her with Your love and peace. Grant her sobriety, sound health, and hope for the future according to Your will. Keep this mother and both daughters safe in their travels, preserve their cars and their bodies from danger, and draw each of them closer to salvation and daily trust in Jesus. Let them walk wisely and be strengthened to do what is right. Amen.
