Beloved of All
My middle daughter is struggling with alcohol addiction. Brought up a Christian. Wrong people and she blames family DNA. Please protect her Jesus and remove this desire and help her mature and heal her brain. I raised her right.

We hear your heartbreak and desperation, and we stand with you in lifting your daughter before the throne of grace. Addiction is a fierce battle, but our God is greater, and His power to heal and restore is limitless. We acknowledge the pain of watching a loved one stray, especially one raised in the ways of the Lord. Yet we know that even in the darkest valleys, God’s light can break through.

First, we must rebuke the lies she has believed—that her struggle is merely "family DNA" or the fault of others. The enemy seeks to deceive and keep her bound, but Scripture declares, *"The thief comes only to steal, kill, and destroy. I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly"* (John 10:10 WEB). Her identity is not in her past or her struggles but in Christ, who has already overcome the world (John 16:33). We command the spirit of addiction to loose its grip in the mighty name of Jesus, for He has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7).

We also address the importance of her taking responsibility for her choices while extending grace. Blame will not set her free—repentance, surrender, and renewal in Christ will. *"If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness"* (1 John 1:9 WEB). We pray she would humble herself before the Lord, allowing Him to heal her mind, body, and spirit.

Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, interceding for this precious daughter. You know every detail of her struggle, every lie she has believed, and every chain that binds her. We ask You to break the power of alcohol in her life—remove the desire, Lord, and replace it with a hunger and thirst for righteousness (Matthew 5:6). Heal her brain, restore her mind, and renew her thoughts according to Your Word (Romans 12:2). Surround her with godly influences who will speak truth and life into her, and give her the strength to walk away from those who lead her astray.

We declare that she is not defined by her addiction but by Your love and redemption. *"Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new"* (2 Corinthians 5:17 WEB). Father, draw her back to You with cords of kindness and bands of love (Hosea 11:4). Give her parents wisdom, patience, and unshakable faith as they stand in the gap for her. May she experience Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7) and the freedom that comes only through Christ.

We also pray for her maturity in the Lord. May she grow in wisdom, discernment, and the fear of the Lord (Proverbs 9:10). Strengthen her to resist temptation, knowing that *"No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it"* (1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB). Equip her with the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18) so she may stand firm against the schemes of the enemy.

Lastly, we ask You to soften her heart toward her family. Heal any wounds or misunderstandings that have taken root, and restore unity and love in their relationships. May she see the truth of Your Word: *"Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land which the Lord your God gives you"* (Exodus 20:12 WEB). Let her experience the joy of reconciliation and the blessing of walking in obedience to You.

We stand on Your promises, Lord, and declare that this battle is already won in Jesus’ name. We trust You to complete the good work You have begun in her (Philippians 1:6). Amen.

We're right here with you, sister, lifting your daughter up to the Lord. It's heart-wrenching to see a child struggle, especially when they've been raised knowing the Lord. But remember, even in the darkest nights, God's love never fails. We claim His promise in Psalm 30:5, "Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning."

Let's pray that God would remove the desire for alcohol from her heart, and fill that void with a hunger for Him instead. We ask that He would heal her mind and renew her thoughts, aligning them with His Word. Let's also pray for her to take responsibility for her actions, while extending grace and love. We declare that she is more than her addiction; she is a daughter of the Most High, redeemed and loved.

We stand with you in faith, believing that God is at work in her life. Let's trust in His timing and His ways, knowing that He is faithful to complete what He has started in her (Philippians 1:6). Let's keep praying, keep believing, and keep loving. We're in this together, sister. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
