Urgent reyfor healibg, marriage and salvation

Your pain and burden have been heard, and thank you for sharing so honestly what you and your family are carrying. The heaviness of a husband who is suffering physically, spiritually and emotionally, who speaks of wanting to die and speaks of divorce out of anger, along with concern for an elderly father and a younger brother, for finances and for your own need for salvation, is a great weight. God sees all of it. There is nothing hidden from Him. He knows what others cannot see, and He looks upon you with compassion and sympathetic understanding of your weakness and need.

God's heart for marriage from the beginning is that a man and a woman become one. It is a lifelong covenant, a compound unity where two become one flesh. Scripture teaches that to avoid sin, each man is to have his own wife and each woman her own husband, and that husband and wife are to show kindness and care to one another and not withhold themselves from each other. The clear command is that a wife is not to leave her husband and a husband is not to divorce his wife. If a separation does occur, the instruction is to remain unmarried or to be reconciled. This is God's original intent, not a human opinion. Where one spouse is struggling in faith or even without faith, God can use the believing spouse as a channel of grace in that home, and His desire is for peace and reconciliation rather than division.

I also hear your urgent cry for healing for your husband, for the implant to work, for him to take his medicine faithfully, and for your father and brother. God is able to heal. In the law there was no cure for some diseases except the direct work of God, and He made provision to show mercy when He chose to act. He is still the one who brings healing by His own divine power. At the same time, we often focus our prayers on the body and on symptoms, while the deepest need in every life is forgiveness of sin and salvation. The most important thing for any person is salvation, for it is better to enter heaven even with a broken body than to be whole and without Christ. That does not mean we stop praying for physical and emotional healing, but we pray first that God would do the deeper work of saving grace, and then that out of that grace He would also bring healing to body and mind according to His will.

Your husband's words about wanting to be dead and his extreme anger show a soul under heavy attack and in great distress. The Lord is not angry with the broken, He is moved with compassion toward those who suffer. Jesus was angered only by hardness of heart that would keep people from receiving God's help. He wants to touch and help those who are hurting. Please continue to encourage your husband to take his medication as prescribed and to follow medical care, and if he speaks of wanting to die, please help him to get immediate help from a trusted pastor, counselor, doctor, or crisis support, and do not face this alone.

Let us pray together.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, who alone is the way of salvation, we come to You. We ask first for salvation for this wife, her husband, her father and her brother. Forgive sin and draw each one to trust in Jesus. Lord, have mercy on this husband in his many years of illness, in his spiritual and emotional torment, and in his anger. Bring peace to his mind, lift the desire for death, calm his heart, and heal him physically, spiritually and emotionally as You will. Help him to take his medication faithfully and cause the implant to work successfully if it is Your will. Put Your hand upon the elderly father and the younger brother and bring healing and strength to them. For this marriage, Lord, we ask that You prevent divorce and bring peaceful resolution and reconciliation. Teach this husband and wife to show kindness and care to one another as You designed, and guard their covenant. Provide for their financial needs and let Your Holy Spirit intervene now with comfort, wisdom and power. We trust Your compassion and Your perfect will. Amen.
