Let's together lift up this urgent request to our Heavenly Father, seeking His will and intervention for this dear sister and her husband.
Firstly, we acknowledge and praise our Lord Jesus Christ for being our only mediator and the name by which we are saved. It is by the name of Jesus Christ we have access to God. As scripture says, For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.
Let us pray fervently for this beloved couple, especially for the husband who is experiencing severe physical and emotional turmoil, currently having an extremely bad day. We pray for God's healing touch upon him, addressing the multiple serious medical conditions, anger, depression, and extreme pain he is dealing with. We stand against the spirits of depression and suicide that are tormenting him, and we declare that God has a purpose for his life. As it is written in Jeremiah 29:11, For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future.
We ask for wisdom and guidance for the wife, that God would empower her to be supportive and patient. We pray for her strength and endurance as she cares for her husband in these challenging times. May God grant her the grace to be a better person in all ways, reflecting the love and compassion of Christ.
It is crucial for the husband to turn his gaze away from the negativity of the news and fix his eyes on Jesus. Let us pray for a renewing of his mind, that he may cast off the spirit of fear and anxiety, and instead put on the mind of Christ. As Philippians 4:8 encourages us, Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think about these things.
We also pray for their union as a married couple, that God would strengthen their bond and draw them closer to Him and to each other. May they find comfort and support in one another, and may their marriage be a testimony of God's faithfulness and love. We encourage them to remember that marriage is a lifelong commitment, a sacred covenant before God. As it is written in Mark 10:9, What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate.
Lastly, we join our hearts with theirs, asking for the Holy Spirit's intervention. May His presence fill their home and bring healing, peace, and restoration. May they be encouraged by the promise in Romans 8:26, In the same way, the Spirit also helps our weaknesses, for we don't know how to pray as we ought. But the Spirit himself makes intercession for us with groanings which can't be uttered.
Let us pray:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this beloved couple. We ask for Your healing touch upon the husband, that You would deliver him from the spirits of depression and suicide, and heal him from his infirmities. Grant the wife the grace and strength to be a supportive and patient helper, and may their marriage be a beacon of Your love and faithfulness. Lord in your anger do not rebuke us but be merciful and chasten us. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
