We join you in lifting up this urgent burden before the Lord and we hear your heart for peace and restoration in this family as a birthday approaches.

We want to speak with love and truth about what you have shared concerning a boyfriend allowing her to stay. If this dear one is living in the home of her boyfriend, we must gently address what Scripture teaches about this. We believe marriage is a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman ordained by God, and that courtship should be with the goal of godly marriage to another believer in Christ. Living together outside of marriage, even with good intentions, falls short of God's design for purity. Scripture says Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled, but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers Hebrews 13:4 and Flee sexual immorality 1 Corinthians 6:18. If they are believers, we encourage them to not be unequally yoked together 2 Corinthians 6:14 but to pursue either a clear path toward marriage if it is God's will, or to live separately in purity while they seek His direction. This is not to condemn but to call toward holiness, because God's way protects hearts and brings true peace. If marriage is not yet appropriate, we pray God will provide godly and separate housing and healthy boundaries.

We also pray for the boyfriend's heart and for his mother. The Lord can turn hearts as He wills, for The king's heart is in Yahweh's hand like the watercourses. He turns it wherever he desires Proverbs 21:1. We pray for a softened heart that seeks wisdom rather than pressure, and for the mother to find peace and release control. We honor the call to Honor your father and your mother Ephesians 6:2, yet we also know that family healing requires gentleness, forgiveness, and understanding on all sides. A gentle answer turns away wrath Proverbs 15:1, and we pray that restoration you desire will be marked by being kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other Ephesians 4:32.

We notice your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to lovingly remind you that it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6 and There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. It is by placing our faith in Jesus, His death and resurrection for our sins, that our prayers are heard and our lives are made new. We encourage you and those you are praying for to call upon His name and trust Him fully.

We pray together now for wisdom and patience and healing.

Father, in the name of Jesus we come before Your throne of grace and we lift up this young woman and her boyfriend and his mother to You. Lord, soften hearts and grant wisdom that comes from above. We ask that You give to this dear one wisdom liberally as You promise If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him James 1:5. Grant her patience and peace in this difficult waiting, and let her not be anxious but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving let her requests be made known to You Philippians 4:6. Pour out Your peace which surpasses all understanding to guard hearts and minds in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:7.

Lord, we ask that You bring conviction and clarity to the boyfriend, that he would seek Your will above all and act with integrity, courage, and purity. We pray for his mother, that You would calm her spirit, remove any desire to control, and fill her with Your peace and understanding. Heal these family dynamics, Lord, and where possible restore relationships with mutual honor and grace. If it is Your will, lead this couple toward a godly marriage that honors You, and if not, lead them to walk in holiness apart. Above all let Your perfect will be done and let this birthday be an occasion for grace and new beginnings. We ask all this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus, our only hope, amen.

We encourage you to continue in prayer, to seek counsel from mature believers, and to trust that God works all things for good for those who love Him. If possible, encourage them to pursue godly counsel and accountability in their local church as they navigate where to live and how to honor both family and the Lord Romans 12:18.

One thing we have seen help in tense family situations is recognizing where one person's responsibility ends and another's begins. When emotions run high, it is easy for everyone to get pulled into trying to manage each other, and that often leaves the person in the middle feeling torn. You cannot control what his mother does or what he ultimately decides, but you can steward your own responses with calm clarity and kindness, even while you hope for the best.

It may help to think through one or two steady next steps that are yours to take. Consider talking with a trusted pastor or wise mentor who knows you in person about what healthy, respectful boundaries could look like here, and what a clear plan for housing and support would be no matter how he decides. Having that counsel and a practical plan can bring some steadiness while you wait.

Father, we lift her to You and ask for Your peace over this home and family. Give her wisdom and patience in each conversation, calm the tension, and bring healing where there has been hurt. We have brought your request before the Lord and have heard the heaviness of your heart in this difficult season, especially as a birthday draws near and tensions in the household are felt more keenly.

The Scripture reminds us that God desires truth in the inward parts, and in the hidden part He will make us to know wisdom. Outward circumstances spring from inward realities, and true restoration must begin there. As Peter found when the Lord turned and looked upon him, a soft heart is not merely a heart softened toward our own plans, but a heart softened toward Christ, that we might see our need of cleansing and of His mercy. We do not wish simply for outward peace or for our own will to be done, but for the wisdom that comes from above, which is pure and peaceable and always seeks what is holy and good in the sight of God.

We understand your desire for kindness and understanding between ###, her boyfriend, and his mother, and for healing in these family dynamics. Yet we cannot ask God to bless or to establish a living arrangement outside of the covenant of marriage, for His Word teaches that marriage is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and that living together in an intimate relationship belongs within that covenant alone. To pray otherwise would be to ask God to affirm what His Word calls us to order differently. The way of wisdom, which is the way of God, is always best, and His will ought to be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Therefore our prayer for you is not that God would simply confirm present arrangements, but that He would grant true wisdom, patience and restoration according to His righteousness.

We pray that the Lord would grant to ### a tender conscience and a clear mind, that she would seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and that He would give her patience under trial. You have heard of the patience of Job, that it is the patience of a greatly tried man, imperfect in himself yet sustained by God, and that through trial God forms a people who are made to know His sufficiency. May that patience be hers, not in mere endurance, but in trusting the Lord to show the right path.

We pray that the Lord would soften every heart concerned, not to stand firm in a human decision, but to be made soft toward Christ, to hear His voice and to turn from what is contrary to His design. We pray that the boyfriend and his mother would know the peace of God which comes from entrusting all things to Him, and that their relationships with ### would be marked by honesty, honor and godly understanding rather than control or confusion.

We pray for healing in the family, that each one would be brought to seek cleansing through the blood of Christ, for there alone is true purity, and that being restored to fellowship with Him, each might then act as a brother and sister should, strengthening one another with double earnestness and care for what is holy.

We ask the Lord to give ### wisdom to discern His will, courage to walk in purity whether that means living apart in holiness or, if before God it is right and wise, pursuing marriage through godly counsel and with the blessing of family and the church, and grace to honor parents and to act with integrity before all.

May the Lord, who prayed for Peter that his faith would not fail and who restored him with such tender wisdom, now grant to each of you repentance where needed, faith in Jesus Christ alone for salvation, and a desire to walk in the path of wisdom as those who are guided by the Holy Spirit and not by our own judgment. We will continue to pray that you seek pastoral counsel in your local church, that you open the Scriptures daily, and that you commit your way unto Him who does all things well.

We have received your urgent request and we join you in bringing this difficult situation before the Lord with care and compassion.

We understand your desire for stability and for peace in these relationships, especially with a birthday approaching and with tension in the family. In times like this Scripture calls us to patience that endures affliction and waits on God, to seek the wisdom that comes from God and not only from this world, and to seek the peace that comes from being at peace with Christ first. True patience trusts God even when answers do not come at once, true wisdom looks beyond what seems convenient now to what honors God, and true peace is not simply the absence of conflict but the presence of what is right before Him.

Because of this, we cannot ask God to bless or to sustain living together outside of marriage, for Scripture teaches that marriage is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman and that sexual intimacy and sharing a home as a couple belong within that covenant. To pray that a boyfriend would simply continue such an arrangement would not be for his good or yours, nor would it honor God. Instead we will pray with you for what is truly good and healing for everyone involved.

We pray that God will give you wisdom and patience in this difficult time, that He will guard your heart and help you to endure with hope and to make decisions that honor Him. We pray that He will give your boyfriend wisdom and a softened heart to seek what is right and godly, not only what feels kind in the moment, and that he will have courage to act with integrity and purity. We pray for his mother, that God will give her His peace and calm her anxieties, and that all control would give way to grace, truth and mutual respect. We pray for healing in the family dynamics, that any hurt or misunderstanding would be replaced by honest communication, forgiveness and understanding rooted in love for Christ.
