Urgent prayers needed for my cat ###

Alisha Kirshman

Servant of All
Please read this entire post. There is alot. Thankyou! Please pray that God will completely heal and give my cat ### a full recovery. She has a brain tumor and masses and lesions on her lungs, which could be chronic bronchitis/ asthma or cancer. There is no treatment. Only medication to make her comfortable. God is the only one that can help her now. She is having so many complications from all of this. Please pray that God will take away and ease any pain or discomfort ### is in. Please pray that God will help ### start eating normal food and drinking water again. Please pray that God will help ### have regular bowel movements. Please pray that God will help her breathing and purring. Purring is triggering coughing, she doesnt want affection anymore, because she starts purring, which makes her cough. She was the most affectionate cat I've ever met in my life , and she seems very sad about it. She tries to cuddle and starts coughing and will lay alone and just stare at us. It is heart breaking. Please pray that God will guide my hands and help me give ### all of the medication and treatments she needs without hurting her or causing distress. She needs 4 pills twice a day, which requires me to pry open her mouth and shove them down her throat. She also needs an inhaler 3 times a day, and a subcutaneous fluid IV at least once a week. Please pray that God will help me and guide me with all of these things and with all decisions regarding ###. Please pray that when ###'s time comes, God will show her mercy and just take her in her sleep. She is utterly terrified of driving and the Vet , and i refuse to let her be put to sleep there, alone, terrified, shaking, crying, not knowing what is happening or where we are. I will not allow that to be her last moments. Please pray that God will help us find someone that can come to our house and put her down if she needs it. I know she is just a cat, but she is our world. Please pray that God will hear and answer all of my desperate cries and pleas and prayers. Thankyou. In Jesus name I ask of all these things and in Jesus name I pray. Amen.

We join you in lifting up your beloved cat before the throne of grace and we thank you for sharing your whole heart with us in this painful season. We hear how deeply you love her and how heavy this burden is as you watch her suffer with a brain tumor and masses and lesions on her lungs, struggling to breathe, to eat and drink, to have normal bowel movements, and even to receive affection without coughing. We know this is heartbreaking to see her want to cuddle and purr and then pull away alone to stare because purring brings coughing. God sees every detail of her suffering and He sees your tears and your faithful care for her.

We are comforted that you have come in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and it is in His name that our prayers are heard. As it is written, There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus. 1 Timothy 2:5 and In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7

We take comfort that our God cares for His creation. The Scripture tells us A righteous man respects the life of his animal. Proverbs 12:10 and You preserve man and animal. Psalm 36:6 and Are not two sparrows sold for an assarion? Not one of them falls on the ground apart from your Father's will. Matthew 10:29 If He marks the sparrow, how much more does He see your dear cat whom He entrusted to your care, and how much more does He see you as you steward her life with such tenderness.

We pray together now for her and for you.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this precious cat to You. You are the Creator and Sustainer of all life and nothing is too hard for You. We ask according to Your will that You would bring complete healing and full recovery if it be Your will, for You are able to do far beyond what medicine can do. We ask that You would ease her pain and discomfort and grant her mercy and comfort in her body. Lord, touch her lungs and her brain, ease her breathing, calm the coughing, and allow her to purr and be held without distress. Restore her appetite and thirst, that she would eat normal food and drink water again. Regulate her body that she would have regular bowel movements and be strengthened. We ask that You would restore her joy and affectionate spirit and let her feel safe and loved in Your peace.

Father, we also lift up her beloved owner who is caring for her so faithfully. Give wisdom and steady hands as she gives four pills twice a day, the inhaler three times a day, and the subcutaneous fluids each week. Guide her hands that she would not hurt her or cause distress, and give the cat peace and stillness to receive what she needs. Grant wisdom for every decision regarding her care, that every choice would be made with discernment, love, and reverence for the life You have given. Your word says If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him. James 1:5 We ask for that liberal wisdom now.

Lord, we ask for Your mercy for the days ahead. You know her fear of driving and the veterinarian and the desire that she would not be terrified and alone in her final moments. We pray that You would in Your mercy either take her gently in her sleep at home in peace, or provide a compassionate veterinarian who can come to the house if that difficult decision must be made, so that she may be surrounded by love and not fear. Lead this family to the right help at the right time and give them peace that passes understanding as they walk this valley.

We also pray for the heart of her family, for You heal the broken in heart, and bind up their wounds. Psalm 147:3 Draw near to them, for Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Psalm 34:18 Comfort them with the assurance that You hear every desperate cry and that You bottle every tear. Let them rest in knowing they have done well as faithful stewards of this little life You entrusted to them.

We thank You, Father, that You hear us when we pray in Jesus name. We trust Your goodness, Your sovereignty, and Your perfect love to do what is best for this dear cat and for those who love her so deeply. May Your will be done and may Your peace guard their hearts until You answer. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord we pray, amen.

We read your entire message and we are holding you and ### in prayer. It is clear how deeply you love her, and how painful it is to watch such an affectionate companion pull away because purring now makes her cough. That shift from cuddling to staring from a distance is heartbreaking, and it makes sense you feel torn between wanting more time and wanting her to be at peace.

Caring for a chronically ill pet day after day with pills twice a day, inhalers and fluids is exhausting in body and spirit, and the worry about making the right decisions only adds to it. Please do not carry that alone. If you have not already, it may help to ask your veterinarian or a vet nurse to walk through the pilling and inhaler steps with you again for ways to be gentler, and to ask now, while things are calmer, whether they know trusted in-home hospice or euthanasia providers in your area so you have a name and number ready if that day comes. Having a plan ahead can ease some of the fear you named about her last moments.

We are praying for comfort for ###, for wisdom for you in each small decision, and for rest for your heart in the days ahead.

Father, we lift ### and her family to You. Ease any pain or troubled breathing she has, and give her peace and comfort. Give steady hands and wisdom for each treatment and decision, and surround this home with Your nearness and mercy. In Jesus name, amen.

Your sorrow has been poured out before the Lord and He has seen it, for there is no sigh so faint that He does not hear it. To watch a creature so dear to you suffer, to see her affection checked by coughing and her strength failing, is a wound to the heart, and the Lord who heals the broken in heart and binds up their wounds knows the weight you carry.

It is not absurd to bring even this grief to Him, for it would be both absurd and wicked to set a limit to His unbounded power. He who numbers the hairs of our heads and who cares for the sparrows cares also for you who are His people, and He says, Comfort ye, comfort ye my people. You feel yourself to be as a bruised reed and as smoking flax, with no strength in yourself, your best resolves weak and vain. Take comfort, for Jesus saith He will not break the bruised reed and He will not quench the smoking flax. Those who are so weak are just as safe as those who are mighty, for their safety lies not in their own strength but in Him.

You pray with feeble breath, and you fear your words are too broken to be heard. Be comforted in this, that our prayers are not powerful in proportion to their expression. Under very heavy grief a man cannot speak as he would, the most eloquent tongue grows slow of speech, yet the Lord hears the desire of the heart when the lips can scarcely frame it. He heard you when you cried in distress, and He will hear you still.

We will bring your requests before the throne of grace, that if it be His gracious will He would lay His healing hand upon your cat and give her full recovery, for with Him all things are possible. We will pray that He would ease whatever pain or discomfort she bears, that He would mercifully help her to eat and to drink water again, to have regular movements, and to breathe without distress. We will ask Him to have compassion upon her coughing, that she might purr and receive and give affection without suffering, and that the sadness you see in her would be lifted by His tender mercy over His creatures.

We will pray also for you, that the Lord who is faithful and who will not suffer you to be tempted above that you are able, would give you steady hands and a calm spirit as you give the medicines, the inhaler and the fluids, that you may do it without hurting her or causing her great fear, and that He would make with every trial a way to escape that you may be able to bear it. Possibly the Lord sees that it will be best for you to bear this burden a little longer, for you are getting good out of it, being taught to wait upon Him, and they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. As your day your strength shall be.

Concerning her last hours, we will pray that the Lord in His mercy would spare her from terror and from lonely suffering, and that He would guide you with wisdom for every decision regarding her. If it be His will to take her, we will ask that He would take her gently, even in her sleep, and if help is needed we will ask Him to provide a compassionate and quiet means at home, so that she need not be alone and afraid in a strange place. Seek counsel also from those skilled in the care of animals, and ask the Lord to direct their wisdom, for every good gift of care comes from His hand.

Cast all your care upon Him, for He cares for you. He does not afflict willingly nor grieve the children of men, and though He causes grief yet will He have compassion according to the multitude of His mercies. May He give you peace as you rest in Christ, who is our only salvation and our sure comfort, and may you hear Him say, Be of good comfort, I have redeemed you.

We pray with you now, Father in heaven, look upon this weary heart and upon this suffering creature whom Thou hast made. If it be Thy will, restore her and ease her pain, grant her to eat and drink and breathe with comfort. Give wisdom and steadiness to the hands that care for her, and renew strength to the one who watches and weeps. In Thy faithfulness limit this trial and make a way through it, and in Thy mercy grant a gentle and peaceful end when her time comes, that fear may not have the last word but Thy compassion. Hear these feeble prayers, not for their eloquence but for the sake of Jesus Christ Thy Son, our only hope and Saviour. Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your heartfelt request has been read fully and with care, and the depth of your love and sorrow is clear. It is not a small thing to watch a creature entrusted to your care suffer, and to feel helpless to ease her pain. God sees this grief and He hears the cries you have poured out day after day.

We share in your sorrow, for as we are taught, many have their several griefs at home and we are called to share in each other's sorrows and to bear one another's burdens. We do not turn away from a member who suffers, even when the disease seems incurable, but we continue to tend and to comfort as we are able. And we weep with you, for your wound in this hour is grievous and your affection for this cat is real and tender.

We join you in prayer to our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have access to the Father, asking according to His mercy and wisdom:

We pray that God in His compassion would bring complete healing to your cat if it be His will, and that He would ease every pain and discomfort she feels. We pray He would help her to eat and drink again, to have regular bowel movements, and to breathe freely without distress. We pray He would calm the coughing that now comes even with her purring, and restore to her some comfort and peace, so that she need not pull away from the affection she once so freely gave and received.

We pray that God would guide your hands and give you steadiness and gentleness as you give her the four pills twice a day, as you hold the inhaler for her three times a day, and as you provide the subcutaneous fluids each week. May He give you wisdom for every decision you must make for her care, and keep you from distress as you seek to do what is best for her.

We pray also for that final mercy you mentioned. We ask that when her time comes, the Lord would in His kindness take her peacefully in her sleep, and spare her fear and terror. If it becomes necessary to seek help to end her suffering, we pray God would in His providence provide a veterinarian who can come to your home with gentleness and compassion, so she may be at peace in a place she knows and loves, surrounded by those who love her. We ask for clear guidance and peace in that difficult decision, that you would not be hasty, but would trust His will and timing.

We know that affliction, though bitter, can train the soul and teach us to say as David did, let Him do what is pleasing in His sight. This does not make the pain less real, but it reminds us to flee to Him in our afflictions, for He has heard the groaning of His people. He cares even for the smallest creatures, and how much more does He care for you who watches over this one with such faithful love.

May the Lord hear your desperate cries and answer according to His perfect love and mercy. May He comfort your heart, give you rest in the midst of this long trial, and keep you close to Himself through every hour of care and waiting.

We pray all these things in the name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and Savior. Amen.
