Servant of All
Please read this entire post. There is alot. Thankyou! Please pray that God will completely heal and give my cat ### a full recovery. She has a brain tumor and masses and lesions on her lungs, which could be chronic bronchitis/ asthma or cancer. There is no treatment. Only medication to make her comfortable. God is the only one that can help her now. She is having so many complications from all of this. Please pray that God will take away and ease any pain or discomfort ### is in. Please pray that God will help ### start eating normal food and drinking water again. Please pray that God will help ### have regular bowel movements. Please pray that God will help her breathing and purring. Purring is triggering coughing, she doesnt want affection anymore, because she starts purring, which makes her cough. She was the most affectionate cat I've ever met in my life , and she seems very sad about it. She tries to cuddle and starts coughing and will lay alone and just stare at us. It is heart breaking. Please pray that God will guide my hands and help me give ### all of the medication and treatments she needs without hurting her or causing distress. She needs 4 pills twice a day, which requires me to pry open her mouth and shove them down her throat. She also needs an inhaler 3 times a day, and a subcutaneous fluid IV at least once a week. Please pray that God will help me and guide me with all of these things and with all decisions regarding ###. Please pray that when ###'s time comes, God will show her mercy and just take her in her sleep. She is utterly terrified of driving and the Vet , and i refuse to let her be put to sleep there, alone, terrified, shaking, crying, not knowing what is happening or where we are. I will not allow that to be her last moments. Please pray that God will help us find someone that can come to our house and put her down if she needs it. I know she is just a cat, but she is our world. Please pray that God will hear and answer all of my desperate cries and pleas and prayers. Thankyou. In Jesus name I ask of all these things and in Jesus name I pray. Amen.

We have read your entire post and we join with you in lifting up your beloved cat before the throne of grace, and we join you in lifting you up as her faithful caretaker. We hear your desperation and your deep love for her, and we do not take lightly that she is your world. She is not just a cat to our Father, for His eye is on all of His creation.

The Scripture tells us that a righteous man respects the life of his animal, Proverbs 12:10, and that the Lord preserves man and animal, Psalm 36:6. Jesus reminds us that not one sparrow will fall to the ground without our Father seeing it, Matthew 10:29, and how much more does He see your tears and hear your cries for this precious companion He entrusted to you. He also sees that you are weary and heartbroken as you watch her suffer, and He draws near to the brokenhearted, Psalm 34:18. We are thankful you have brought all of these burdens to Him in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father, John 14:6, and there is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved and by which our prayers are heard, Acts 4:12.

We understand the depth of this trial. A brain tumor with masses and lesions on her lungs, the possibility of cancer or chronic bronchitis and asthma, the coughing that steals her purr and her desire for affection, the loss of appetite and thirst, the irregular bowel movements, the labored breathing. It is heartbreaking to see the most affectionate companion withdraw and stare alone because purring now brings pain. We also understand the weight you carry giving her four pills twice a day, the inhaler three times a day, and the subcutaneous fluids, fearing you will hurt her or cause her distress.

We want to encourage you that your tender care is honoring to God. You are being a faithful steward of the life He placed in your hands. Continue to seek wisdom from your veterinarian while trusting ultimately in the Great Physician. We also hear your prayer about her final moments, that God in His mercy would take her peacefully in her sleep at home rather than in fear and distress at the clinic. We understand your desire to protect her from terror in her last moments, and we pray with you for clear guidance and peace regarding every decision, including finding a compassionate veterinarian who will come to your home if that need arises. We cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you, 1 Peter 5:7, and we are reminded not to be anxious but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving to let our requests be made known to God, Philippians 4:6-7, and that the effective prayer of the righteous accomplishes much, James 5:16.

We now pray together with you:

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before You together and we lift up this dear cat to You. You formed her and You know every breath she takes. We ask in Jesus name that if it is Your will, You would completely heal her, that You would touch her brain and her lungs, remove every tumor, mass and lesion, and restore her body to full health. Only You can do what no treatment can do, and we ask for Your miraculous mercy. We ask that You take away and ease any pain or discomfort she is in, that You would give her comfort and rest. Lord, we ask that You help her to eat normal food again and to drink water, that You would regulate her bowel movements and heal her digestive system. We ask that You heal her breathing, calm the inflammation in her airways, and stop the coughing that is triggered by her purring, so that she may again receive and give affection without suffering and without sadness. Guide our dear sister's hands as she gives the pills, the inhaler treatments, and the fluids, give her steadiness, gentleness and wisdom so that she does not hurt her beloved companion and that her cat would be calm and trusting. Give her wisdom for every decision regarding care, and provide for her a gentle veterinarian who will come to the home if euthanasia becomes the most merciful and necessary choice, so that this little one may be surrounded by love and peace. Above all, when her time comes, whether by Your healing or by Your calling her home, we ask that You show her mercy and let her pass without fear or pain, and that You comfort her family with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. We thank You that You hear our desperate cries. We trust her life and her future into Your loving hands, and we ask all these things in the mighty and merciful name of Jesus, our only hope. Amen.

We encourage you to keep resting in His presence each day, to keep loving her with the gentle faithfulness you have shown, and to trust that whether He brings complete recovery or peaceful rest, He holds both you and your precious cat in His compassionate hands. He will give you the wisdom you need for each step, James 1:5, and He will not leave you without comfort.

Thank you for trusting us with the full story of ###. We hear how heavy this is, watching a cat who was so affectionate now pull away because purring makes her cough, and seeing her stare from a distance. It makes sense this feels heartbreaking. Loving her so deeply is a good and tender thing.

Caring for her with four pills twice a day plus an inhaler and fluids is a lot to carry, especially when you worry about causing her distress. If it would help, we encourage you to ask your veterinary team if a technician could walk through the pilling and inhaler holds with you again, and whether there are any adjustments to make it gentler for both of you. Keeping a short daily note of eating, drinking, breathing and bowel movements to share with them can also help you and the vet make decisions together.

We also hear your wish that she not be frightened at the end. Many areas have mobile veterinarians who provide in-home hospice and end-of-life care. It may bring some peace to ask your clinic now for a referral or name to have on hand, so you are not searching in an urgent moment.

Father, we lift ### to You and ask for Your mercy and comfort over her. Ease her breathing and any pain, and give rest. Give wisdom and steady hands to her owner as they care for her and face hard decisions. Surround them both with Your peace and presence in the days ahead. In Jesus name, Amen.

Your sorrow has been heard and your burden has been felt, and we desire to bear a portion of it with you before the throne of grace, that so we may fulfill the law of Christ which saith, Bear ye one another's burdens.

There is a tenderness in the mercy of God which extends even to the creatures of His hand. He who feeds the sparrows and knows when one falls to the ground is not unmindful of a household pet that has been so loved and cherished. That you grieve thus is no small thing, for the Lord has given to many a faithful creature to be a comfort in the home, and to lose such affection is to feel a real wound. We do not despise your tears, for our Lord Himself is a Man of Sorrows and acquainted with grief, and He would have you roll your burden upon Him, since He will sustain you.

You have done well to turn to prayer, for prayer is the sacred vessel in which He puts the alms of His mercy. Remember that there is no merit in a beggar's cry, but the merit is in the veins of Christ alone, and through Him the mercy seat is open to all who come. As often as you are cast upon your knees you touch the great source of your strength, and if you have a burden on your back you shall carry it well if you can pray. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid, for Jesus Christ comes to comfort us and that comfort is all about Himself.

We have prayed and do pray for you and for your dear cat in these particulars, as you have asked in the name of Jesus.

We pray that the Lord in His sovereign and tender mercy would, if it be His gracious will, bring healing and full recovery, and that He would ease every pain and discomfort, for His mercy is gratis and He acts because He will have mercy on whom He will have mercy. We pray that He would grant relief to her breathing, that her coughing would be stilled, and that she might again eat and drink and have ease in her body. We pray that He who proclaims comfort to His people would comfort this poor creature who cannot tell her own grief, and comfort you who watches with an aching heart.

We pray that God would guide your hands and give you wisdom and gentleness as you administer the many medicines, the pills and the inhaler and the fluids, that you may do it without distress to her, and that the Lord would give you calmness and skill in every decision that lies before you. There is a point beyond which we cannot go in bearing one another's burdens, for every man shall bear his own burden, yet we can help you to bear yours by our prayers and compassion, and above all by pointing you to Him who bears all.

We pray also concerning her last hours, that the Lord in His great tenderness would show mercy, and if it be His will to take her, that He would take her peacefully and spare her terror, and spare you that sharpest pang. We ask the Lord to provide, if such a need should come, a gentle and compassionate hand that could attend to her in the quiet of her own home, and that you may be kept from cruel anxiety. We pray that whether by His healing touch or by His taking her to Himself, you may see the footsteps of mercy and know that a singular season for mercy is often chosen by God even in the valley of affliction.

Cast all your care upon Him, for He careth for you. May the Lord comfort you with the comfort wherewith He comforts His people, and may you hear that sweet word, Fear thou not, for I am with thee. We leave you and your beloved creature in the hands of Him whose tender mercies are over all His works, trusting that He will do what is right and what is kind, and that He will hear the cries which you have poured out in the name of Jesus.

May grace and peace be to you from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ, in whom alone is our hope. Amen.
