Urgent prayers needed for my cat ###

Please read this entire post. There is alot. Thankyou! Please pray that God will completely heal and give my cat ### a full recovery. She has a brain tumor and masses and lesions on her lungs, which could be chronic bronchitis/ asthma or cancer. There is no treatment. Only medication to make her comfortable. God is the only one that can help her now. She is having so many complications from all of this. Please pray that God will take away and ease any pain or discomfort ### is in. Please pray that God will help ### start eating normal food and drinking water again. Please pray that God will help ### have regular bowel movements. Please pray that God will help her breathing and purring. Purring is triggering coughing, she doesnt want affection anymore, because she starts purring, which makes her cough. She was the most affectionate cat I've ever met in my life , and she seems very sad about it. She tries to cuddle and starts coughing and will lay alone and just stare at us. It is heart breaking. Please pray that God will guide my hands and help me give ### all of the medication and treatments she needs without hurting her or causing distress. She needs 4 pills twice a day, which requires me to pry open her mouth and shove them down her throat. She also needs an inhaler 3 times a day, and a subcutaneous fluid IV at least once a week. Please pray that God will help me and guide me with all of these things and with all decisions regarding ###. Please pray that when ###'s time comes, God will show her mercy and just take her in her sleep. She is utterly terrified of driving and the Vet , and i refuse to let her be put to sleep there, alone, terrified, shaking, crying, not knowing what is happening or where we are. I will not allow that to be her last moments. Please pray that God will help us find someone that can come to our house and put her down if she needs it. I know she is just a cat, but she is our world. Please pray that God will hear and answer all of my desperate cries and pleas and prayers. Thankyou. We have read your entire post and we join you with heavy hearts for your beloved cat and for you as you walk through this painful and exhausting road. We hear how deeply you love her and how heartbreaking it is to watch such an affectionate companion suffer with a brain tumor and masses on her lungs, struggling to eat and drink, to breathe without coughing, and even to purr and cuddle without distress. We do not take lightly your words that she is your world, and we do not believe she is just a cat in the eyes of God who created her and entrusted her to your care.

Scripture reminds us that the Lord cares for all His creation. Proverbs 12:10 says the righteous person regards the life of his animal, and Psalm 36:6 says you preserve man and animal, Yahweh. Jesus Himself said in Matthew 10:29 that not one sparrow will fall to the ground without your Father, and we know how much more He sees and knows your dear companion in her suffering. He is also near to you in your sorrow, for Psalm 34:18 says Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit.

We lift her and you together before the Father in Jesus name, for it is only through Him we have access to God and confidence that He hears our desperate cries.

We pray together, Father in heaven, we come before you in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and we lay this precious cat before your throne of mercy. You formed all living things and you know every breath she takes. We ask if it be your will that you would touch her body and bring complete healing and full recovery, for nothing is impossible for you. Ease her pain and discomfort, calm her lungs and open her airways that she may breathe freely again. We ask that you would restore her appetite and thirst, that she would eat normal food and drink water again, and that her body would have regular bowel movements as you designed. We ask that you would soothe the coughing that is triggered even by purring, and restore to her the comfort of affection and cuddling without fear or sadness. Lord, have mercy on her and let her feel your peace and our love even as she stares and longs to be near.

We also pray for wisdom and steadiness for the hands that care for her. James 1:5 promises that if any of us lacks wisdom, we may ask of God who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given. Grant skill and gentleness as the pills are given twice a day, as the inhaler is given three times a day, and as the subcutaneous fluids are given each week. Take away distress and fear for both of you, and guide every decision regarding her care with clarity and peace. Help us to trust you with each step and not be overwhelmed by anxiety, for Philippians 4:6-7 tells us in nothing to be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, to let our requests be made known to God, and the peace of God which surpasses all understanding will guard our hearts and thoughts in Christ Jesus.

And Father, we entrust her life and her last moments fully to your sovereign and merciful hands. We pray that you would spare her terrifying fear and suffering, and if it is your will to take her home, that you would take her gently in her sleep in the comfort of her home and in the presence of those who love her. If a decision must be made to prevent prolonged suffering, we pray you would provide a compassionate veterinarian who can come to the house, and give clear wisdom and peace about when and how to act, so that her final moments are not marked by terror and confusion but by love and mercy. We trust your perfect timing and your goodness even in this valley, believing Romans 8:28 that all things work together for good for those who love God.

We thank you that you hear every desperate cry and plea, and we thank you that you have heard this prayer offered in Jesus name. We ask for your comfort to surround this home, to sustain strength day by day, and to remind you both that you are not alone. May the Lord hold you close in this season and in the days to come, and may His will be done with mercy and grace. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

Thank you for trusting us with the full story of ###. We can hear how much you love her and how painful it is to watch her struggle to breathe and eat and to pull away from cuddling when that used to be her joy. It makes sense that this feels heartbreaking and exhausting.

Caring for her the way you are takes so much steady love, especially with pills twice a day, the inhaler, and fluids. If you have not already, it may help to ask her veterinary team to watch you give the medications and show you gentler techniques, and to ask them now who they recommend for in home hospice or euthanasia in your area so you have a name and number ready and do not have to search in a crisis moment. Having a plan can ease some of the worry about future decisions.

We also hear the anticipatory grief in your words. Loving an animal this deeply means the thought of losing her is a real loss, and it is understandable to feel torn and tired while you try to keep her comfortable.

Father, we bring ### before you and ask for your mercy and nearness over her. Ease any pain or fear she feels, help her to breathe more easily and to eat and drink when she can, and give her rest. Give wisdom and steady hands to her family as they care for her and make difficult decisions, and surround them with your peace and comfort in the days ahead. In Jesus name, Amen.

Your tender and sorrowful letter has been read with much sympathy and prayer, and your burden has been carried before the throne of grace. We have marked your love for this dear creature committed to your care, and the heaviness of watching her suffer when you cannot speak comfort to her in words.

Hear what the Lord saith to His people, Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God. It is the Lord who bids His servants comfort one another, and often He sends His own bright messenger to flap his wing to earth to comfort some desponding heart. You feel desponding now, and well you may, for the trial is great and the helplessness is keen. Yet the Word gives a peculiar comfort in affliction, as it is written, This is my comfort in my affliction for Thy Word hath quickened me. It is not the letter alone but the Spirit breathing through the Word who quickens and so comforts. When He would comfort us He often quickens us, and in that quickening we find strength to bear what we cannot remove.

You ask if you may bring a little cat before the great God. Remember that not a sparrow falls without your Father, and He who clothes the lilies and feeds the ravens is not unmindful of the creatures of His hand. We read that the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations, and that even the least thing about Christ is healing. His fruit is sweet and nourishing, but His leaves also are full of healing virtue. These healing leaves change the life blood and make the nature other than it was before. We may therefore come with confidence and lay your dear companion before Him who is the great conduit Head from which abundant streams of healing flow down to men below, and who in His mercy also sustains the beasts of the field. We do not demand, but we entreat, that if it be His will He would lift His healing hand upon her.

We will pray as you have asked, that the Lord in His pity would ease all pain and discomfort, and grant relief to her breathing, and if it please Him restore her appetite for food and water and give regular ease of body. That cough which robs her of her purr and of your embrace is grievous to you, for she was most affectionate, and now she withdraws to stare alone. May the Lord have compassion upon her sadness and grant her to rest without fear, and to know again comfort in your nearness without distress.

We will pray also for your hands and your heart, for the heavy task of four pills twice a day, the inhaler three times, and the fluids each week. This is hard service, to pry open the mouth of one you love and cause her momentary distress for her good. Pray for wisdom and gentleness, that the Lord would guide you and establish you in every good word and work. Comfort alone is not enough, nor constancy without comfort, but the Lord can give both. He can comfort your heart and establish your hands, so that what is needful is done with steadiness and tenderness.

You have spoken of her last hour, and of your dread that she should die terrified among strangers, shaking and crying. The Lord knows that fear, and He is merciful. We will ask that He would show mercy in her departing, whether by lifting the disease or by taking her gently in her sleep as you have prayed. And we will ask for wisdom for every decision set before you, that you may not keep her in needless suffering nor hasten what God would yet sustain, but that you may act with clear conscience and quiet love. If the time comes when release is the kindest mercy, we will pray that the Lord in His providence would provide a gentle and humane hand to come to your home, so that her last moments may be in the place she knows and in the arms that have cherished her. Seek counsel of a faithful veterinarian in this, and trust that to show mercy to a suffering creature is not cruelty but kindness.

Be of good comfort. Your cries are heard. The Lord who pardons iniquity and heals our diseases is nigh unto them that call upon Him. Pour out your heart still in great prayer, for it was little prayer that often brings us low and great prayer that lifts us up. Let your Bible be pressed to your bosom till you can say, This is my comfort. Time cannot heal as Christ can, and even if the trial remains, the promise stands that you shall forget your misery as waters that pass away, for He will carry you through.

Let us pray together now. O Lord our God and Father, for the sake of Jesus Christ Thy Son who died to redeem us, look in pity upon this afflicted household. Thou knowest this little creature, every breath and every pain. Lay Thy hand upon her for ease and healing according to Thy perfect will. Give her to eat and drink, to breathe without coughing, to rest without fear, and to feel again the comfort of love. Give to her keeper wisdom, steady hands, and a calm heart, and guide every decision in the way of mercy and truth. And when Thou callest, call gently, and let Thy presence be felt in that room. Hear these desperate cries, for we ask all in the name of Jesus our only hope and Saviour. Amen.

We shall continue to bear you and your dear companion before the Lord, asking that whether He restores or releases, you may know that you are comforted and established by our Lord Jesus Christ Himself and God even our Father.
