We lift up your granddaughter, her mother, and her stepfather to the Lord with heavy hearts, knowing the depth of your concern and love for them. Father God, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can be saved and through whom we have access to Your throne of grace. We declare that there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). It is only through faith in Jesus Christ that we find true healing, deliverance, and peace.

Lord, we first ask for Your divine intervention in the life of your granddaughter. We rebuke the spirit of anorexia, anxiety, fear, and panic attacks in the name of Jesus. These are not from You, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7). We pray that You would break every chain of bondage in her life and set her free from the physical and emotional torment she is experiencing. We declare that by the stripes of Jesus, she is healed (Isaiah 53:5), and we ask that You would remove every sensation and discomfort in her throat. Lord, we pray that she would surrender her life completely to You, seeking Your face and finding her worth and identity in Christ alone. May she come to know the love and acceptance that You offer, which is far greater than anything this world can provide.

We also lift up her mother, who is struggling with body dysmorphia and is caught up in the pursuit of worldly beauty. Father, we ask that You would open her eyes to see herself as You see her, fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14). We pray that she would find her value in You and not in the approval of others or the standards of this world. Lord, we ask that You would deliver her from the bondage of vanity and self-centeredness, and that she would turn her heart toward You and her daughter. We rebuke the spirit of rudeness and ask that You would soften her heart, helping her to see the pain her words and actions may be causing. Father, we pray that You would put a stop to any plans for unnecessary plastic surgery, as this is not Your will for her life. May she seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness (Matthew 6:33), finding true beauty in a gentle and quiet spirit, which is precious in Your sight (1 Peter 3:4).

For her stepfather, we pray for his salvation. Lord, we ask that You would convict his heart of sin and draw him to Yourself. We rebuke the influence of drugs and alcohol in his life and ask that You would break every chain of addiction. May he come to know the freedom that is found only in Jesus Christ, and may he become the godly influence your granddaughter needs in her life. We pray that he would seek You with all his heart and find the purpose and hope that only You can provide.

Father, we also pray for the entire family, that You would bring unity, healing, and restoration. May they all come to a place of holy desperation for You, seeking Your will above all else. We ask that You would surround them with godly influences, believers who can speak truth and life into their situations. Lord, we pray that they would all come to know the depth of Your love and the power of Your grace.

We declare that no weapon formed against this family shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we stand in the gap, praying for breakthrough and deliverance. May Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). We trust in Your faithfulness, Lord, and we believe that You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28).

Heavenly Father, we lift up this family to You, asking that You would move mightily in their lives. May they all come to know You more deeply and walk in the freedom and victory that is found in Jesus Christ. We pray all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus, Amen.

We hear the love and holy desperation in your words, pleading for ###, ###, and ### all at once. Walking alongside a child who is suffering like this, while ### is caught in her own pain, is a burden that can feel impossible to carry alone.

The sensation in ###’s throat is one of those things that can be so frightening, and it’s not unusual for extreme anxiety to produce exactly that feeling of tightness or something being stuck. The doctor found no blockage, which is reassuring, but if it persists or worsens, a follow-up visit would be wise just to put everyone’s mind at ease. At the same time, the panic attacks and the eating disorder she’s battling are deeply serious, and they deserve ongoing professional care. Anorexia has the highest mortality rate of any mental illness, so having a counselor or treatment team who specialize in both the medical and emotional sides, especially someone who respects her faith, could make a life-and-death difference. You can’t force her to go, of course, but your steady, non-anxious presence and gentle encouragement toward help are powerful.

We join you in praying for ###’s freedom from body dysmorphia and for ###’s deliverance. These family patterns run deep, and ###’s need for ### is so clear. While you can’t control their choices, you can keep bringing them honestly before the Lord, and, just as important, make sure you yourself have someone to lean on. A trusted pastor or a prayer partner who will simply listen and pray with you can be a lifeline when you feel spent.

Lord Jesus, we hold up to You. Quiet the terror in her throat and the panic in her chest. Draw her gently into a place of full surrender where she lets Your love meet her in her deepest hunger for worth and control. Give ### a true seeing of herself as You see her, not as flawed, but as beloved and whole in You, and break the hold of that disorder. Bring ### into saving knowledge of You and set him free from addiction. And to this ###, give strength, peace, and clear wisdom to know when to speak, when to wait, and how to rest in Your care. We ask all this in Your powerful name, Jesus.

This cry of holy desperation is a far sweeter sound in the ear of Heaven than all the self-reliant prayers of the Pharisee. When you come to the end of yourself, you are at the starting point of God’s power. He brought them forth, also, with silver and gold, and there is wealth of mercy for your household even now, though you see only poverty of spirit. Yet remember this: the Lord’s deliverance is not a patchwork of our own efforts. Were you able to save your granddaughter by your own wrestling, you might share the honor, but it is not of him that wills, nor of him that runs, but of God that shows mercy.

That sensation in the throat, that constant panic, do not rebuke it merely, but surrender it at His feet. Our Savior’s injunction means, do not be so affected by external things as to get into a state of worry, fretfulness, care, anxiety and distress. The anxiety itself unfits us to meet the trial. You ask Him to take away the symptom, but first pray that He would take away the frantic grasping after control. It will go well with you and with your dear child when you make a full capitulation, an unconditional surrender. Fling wide the gates of the city of Mansoul, and admit the prince Emanuel to rule as sole sovereign. Your daughter’s vanity, your granddaughter’s fear, this stepfather’s chains, they are the gates of a rebel city that must swing open.

Cease looking so intently at the wasted money and the imagined scalpel; those are but outer tokens of the inner darkness from which Christ delivers His own. Nobody would have thought of the way of deliverance from the pit of Hell through a ransom if God had not thought of it, and He has thought of a way for this mother’s mirror-worship and this young soul’s dread. The clock of mercy struck in Heaven the hour and moment of my deliverance, for the time had come. So it shall be for them. The Lord has chastened you sorely through watching this affliction, but the believer’s conduct after deliverance is to declare His works. You shall see it, and your grandchild herself shall say, “I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord.”

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Wow wow wow is all I can say thank you

You cry out with holy desperation, and that is good, for the Lord draws near to the brokenhearted. Yet hear this: the great anxiety that grips your household, the turmoil of soul in your granddaughter, the vanity that consumes her mother, the lostness of her stepfather, these are not merely bodily afflictions. They are a famine of the soul, a hungering for what only Christ can give. Do you not see how our diligence, our remedies, our frantic efforts accomplish nothing unless the providence of God goes before? The mother runs after facials and Botox, wasting money on that which cannot add a single cubit to her stature or peace to her heart. The daughter feels a sensation in her throat, and though the doctors find nothing, still she is in agony. Is this not a shadow of a deeper starvation, a spirit crying out for the Bread of Life?

Consider the care that God has already shown. He did not spare His own Son but gave Him up for us all. If He gave His very blood as bail for your souls, will He then despise you now? It cannot be! He who died and rose again to be Lord of the living and the dead takes more thought for our salvation than any earthly father for his child. The enemy would have you believe that you must fix all this by your own striving, that enough prayer, enough rebuking, enough authority will break these chains. But power belongs to God, and He works through surrendered hearts. You take authority, but how can one take hold of Christ while clinging to anxiety? The devil lashes us with fear, with dread of the future, and we toil as slaves in Egypt, making bricks for a cruel master. Groan, therefore, and look up to God, and He will send His Word, bringing compunction, freeing you from this bitter slavery.

The cure for your granddaughter is not only the ceasing of a sensation but the filling of her soul with Christ. That tightness in her throat is a call to come to the Physician who says, “Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Not just rest from panic, but the rest of sins forgiven, of a life hid with Christ in God. Bid her set her mind on things above, not on the fleeting comforts of her mother’s approval. For her mother, too, is sick, bound by a spirit of self-love that makes her rude, that drives her to the surgeon’s knife. Vanity does not see that the body is dust, but the soul must be adorned for eternity. Pray indeed, but also speak the truth in love: all these cosmetic pursuits are a chasing after wind, and unless she repents, she will lose both her money and her daughter.

As for the stepfather, do not despair. He who called the Samaritans “fields already white for harvest” can make this man’s heart ready, even now. The Lord’s power is unconquerable. But salvation is not a spell to be cast; it is a turning of the will. So let your prayer be for a holy desperation that leads to full surrender, not surrender to your advice as a grandmother, but to the Captain of their salvation, who was made perfect through sufferings and who alone can bring many sons to glory.

Cast your hope on Him, not on the fading strength of your own anxieties. For hope in God is no mere wish; it is the anchor of the soul. And with your supplications, let there be a supply of the Spirit, which comes when we quiet our clamorous hearts and trust completely. Your granddaughter’s throat, commend it to the Lord who made it, and cease from the turmoil that fixes her mind perpetually on her affliction. Our Christ is not one who will leave us to drown. He stretched out His hand to sinking Peter, and He will stretch it out to her. Only let her eyes be fixed on Him, not on the storm. Then shall you see that this trial, which you now dread, will turn out to your salvation and to theirs, and Christ shall be magnified, whether by life or by death, by healing or by patient endurance. Peace be unto this household, but a peace that comes only after the war of surrender is won.

Your holy desperation is not a sign of weakness but a movement of the Spirit, drawing you to the only One who can break every chain that has entangled your family. When a child is tormented by anxiety and a sensation that terrifies her, and when those closest to her are caught in their own deep struggles, it’s easy to feel that the battle is too much. But heaven hears the cry of a grandmother who refuses to let go.

Attacks like these often intensify around times of great spiritual longing or after mercies we’ve experienced, simply because the enemy wants to steal what God is about to do. That doesn’t mean you have anything to fear. The weapons God gives are not of this world: they are prayer, the Word of God, and the authority Jesus has entrusted to every believer. You’ve already done what that citizen of Jerusalem under Nehemiah did when they cried out and then “set a watch.” You’ve prayed, you’ve taken authority in Jesus’ name. Now act on that authority by continuing to speak Scripture over your granddaughter when panic rises, and pair it with practical watchfulness. If the doctors found no obstruction yet the sensation persists, that is a real affliction. It may be the enemy using her body to echo the turmoil inside. Stand with her, not just against the darkness, but as a tangible source of peace. Help her find shelter in the truth that Jesus bore our anxieties and that His perfect love casts out fear. The right kind of help, counsel from believers who understand the interplay of body, mind, and spirit, can be part of that watch, not a replacement for faith but a step of wisdom.

Your daughter’s body dysmorphia and self-focus is itself a snare. She believes, yet lives in partial obedience, and partial obedience always brings sorrow, like the man who stopped short of his family’s land and reaped a bitter harvest. Pray that the mercy that called a wandering man back to his family will grip her heart. Ask the Lord to make her discontent with Botox and plastic surgery hollow pursuits, and to give her a holy hunger for transformation that only the Spirit brings. You can’t force it, but your prayers are a restraining force.

The stepfather’s need for salvation and deliverance from drugs and alcohol is no small thing, but no case is beyond the reach of the Redeemer. There are lives the world’s wisest experts gave up on, yet Jesus set them free. The same Lord who responded to Satan with “It is written” can put new words in that man’s mouth, words of repentance and life. Keep asking. Keep believing.

What the enemy means for evil against this whole family line, God can redeem. You remember the story of Ruth: a name and an inheritance nearly wiped out, until a kinsman stepped in to bring restoration. Your own steady love for these three is a reflection of that kind of loyalty. More than that, Jesus Himself is the true Kinsman-Redeemer for every broken household. He is not indifferent to the chaos. Bring their names before Him daily, and don’t panic. Panic is what the enemy feeds on. Instead, remember the Lord. Recount what He has already done in your own life and in their histories. The cure for fear is not a formula; it’s fixing your gaze on His faithfulness.

So let this holy desperation press you further into His presence, not into frantic rebuking that leaves you drained. Stand on the promise that His word is alive and active. Declare over your granddaughter: “You will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You.” Declare over your daughter: “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you.” Declare over that man: “If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation.” Then rest in the God who never slumbers, never forgets, and never fails to bring His children home.
