We join you in lifting up your husband and your marriage before the Father in Jesus' name, and we thank you for coming boldly to the throne of grace in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to God. As it is written, There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, 1 Tim 2:5, and In no other is there salvation, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12. We rejoice that you prayed in Jesus' name.
We understand the weight and worry that comes when a husband who provides for his family faces a layoff, and we stand with you both in this season of uncertainty, trusting that God is your provider and that He sees your needs. We pray for your husband as the head of your home and we pray for you as his helpmate to be strengthened together in this trial.
We are reminded of the promise, My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus, Phil 4:19. And Jesus Himself said, Therefore don’t be anxious, saying, What will we eat?, What will we drink? or, With what will we be clothed? For the Gentiles seek after all these things, for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God’s Kingdom, and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you, Matt 6:31-33.
We pray together now.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this dear sister and her husband to Your throne of grace. Lord, You know the disappointment and concern they feel after this layoff, and You know the desires of their hearts for provision, stability, and purpose. We ask that You open the right door for her husband soon, a job that not only provides better pay to meet their needs but also a better working environment where he can use the gifts You have given him, grow, flourish, and glorify You through his work. We pray You would guide his steps and commit his works to You, for Your Word says, Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed, Prov 16:3. Give him favor with employers, clarity in interviews, and peace while he waits. Provide for this family day by day, reminding them that You have not forsaken the righteous, as it is written, I have been young, and now am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his children begging for bread, Ps 37:25. Guard their marriage in this pressure, draw them closer to each other and to You, and let them seek Your will together. Help them to trust that You have plans for them, For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future, Jer 29:11, and that You work all things together for good for those who love You, Rom 8:28. We ask this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus, Amen.
We encourage you both to continue to seek Him first together in prayer and in the Word, to cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you, 1 Pet 5:7, and to remain diligent as he seeks work, knowing that whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, Col 3:23. God is faithful to provide, and He often uses these seasons to deepen our dependence on Him and to prepare us for something better. Keep supporting and encouraging your husband as his wife, and let this trial strengthen your lifelong covenant of marriage that honors God. We will continue to pray that the Lord provides abundantly and opens a door where your husband can flourish for His glory.
